The kingdom went under lock down and the guards went on strict routes. Strange people kept coming to the castle, raising more questions. None of the boys has asked what happened in the city, so I asume Jenna explained to them about that. Neil looked a little crept from time to time when he looked at me. I guess everyone thinks I am insane now. Better to be insane than boring I guess.
"Evie, the queen wants to see you. Everyone else is in there." Tarrant said. I put the book I was reading down with great reluctants. "I know you probably want nothing more to do with what's going on, but you aren't the only one."
"I know." I hummed a little.
"You're not scared." He stated.
"The only thing to fear is fear itself. I forget where I heard that. There's another saying that I read. Fear stands for two things. Forget everything and run or face everything and rise. It's your choice on how you face fear." I informed him. He gained a thoughtful expression and stayed silent until we got to the queen.
"Good, everyone is here." Queen Miranda said as we walked in. I rolled my eyes and took a seat next to Jenna.
"Do you know anything?" I asked Jenna quietly. She shrugged.
"I would like to thank the kings and queens from each country coming to this meeting. It appears the war that we have feared years ago is now coming back to light. The dark forces are rising once more." Queen Miranda said with sorrow.
"Exactly how many rulers are within this room?" I asked. Everyone turned to me while Jenna snickered. The boys made no reaction except for an occasional shift.
"Five kingdoms, not counting mine." Miranda answered calmly. "The Kingdom of Avalor. The Kingdom of Sinar. Kingdom of Vella'rn. KIngdom of Skyer. Kingdom of Porgo. Any more questions, Lady Moon?"
"No, but let me lay down a few rules while I am here. Do not address me as Lady Moon, it's either Miss. Moon or Evie. Secondly, please get straight to the point. I was in the middle of a rather good book when Tarrant came to get me. I do like my reading times." Everyone gasped at how I addressed her. "Also, don't expect me to bow to anyone." Neil was the first one to break into laughter. The rest of the boys and Jenna followed. Tarrant coughed to cover up his laugh. Miranda even let a small smile show.
"Very well." She said. "Our kingdoms will have to join within the near future for war once more. A thousand years ago we joined together with seven nights. One kingdom was lost during the war, but the nights descendants have come to us. If they agree, they will help fight our war, just like the ancestors before them."
"Evie?" Erick looked at me questioningly. I simply shrugged. He gave a pleading look.
"During this time of great fear, I wish to form a new alliance within our kingdoms." Queen Miranda gave everyone a calculating look.
"The Kingdom of Porgo will form this new alliance." A rather old and chubby man declared. The other kingdoms followed closely by.
"I do have a question about the lady who dared speak to you the way she did." A stuck up horse, excuse me, lady stood up. Miranda glanced at me for permission, which I found a little odd. I gave a small nod after sharing glances with my family.
"Lady-Evie is the descendant of Albert Sonny turned Moon. As you all remember, Albert always spoke his mind, ignoring the titles of those around him." She explained. "The six that sit around her are Adrian Lassie, Erick Prim, Joseph WInters, Jenna Ross, Jonah Nox, and Neil Frost." They gaped at the names.
"Will you help us fight this war?" A small and caring looking lady, asked with a small plead.
"Evie?" Jonah jerked his head to the door.
"If you'll excuse us, we must go and talk." I said calmly. We walked out of the room, while the kings, queens, and noble men began to whisper. The doors closed behind us.
"What do we do? We all know that we aren't going home anytime soon. One way or another, we are going to be dragged into this war." Neil exclaimed in fear.
"I agree. We don't really have a choice in this." Jenna growled.
"What are we going to do then? They are desperate. None of them know us! They expect us to be like our ancestors and that isn't fair!" Adrian whined. I opened my mouth to say something, but Erick beat me to it.
"I say we don't help. What good is this place? Jenna and Evie were harmed when that wolf from hell came. We can't let them get hurt." Jenna looked at Erick offended. They all began to argue and I just stood there starstruck.
"You have got to be kidding me?" I growled to myself. "ENOUGH ALREADY!" My shout ehcoed along the corridors. "What is wrong with you people! Erick, Jenna and I can defend ourselves, thank you very much! If you listened to Miranda, she gave us a choice. She isn't going to force us into this! You guys have the choice to sit back and watch the kingdom that we may never leave die out, or you can get your f*****g scared s**t asses into that room and agree to help these people. As much as I hate the thought of having to go to war, we may have to do the right thing. Now, we do what is right or we do what is wrong. What are you going to do?" They stayed silent for a moment.
"We were warned." Joseph pointed out.
"We have a chance to do something great." Adrian whispered. He looked at Erick with a pleading look. Erick turned to me.
"Evie, do you think we should fight?" He asked.
"I think, I think we need to help them as best as we can." I said.
"Then we fight!" Neil declared fiercely.
"We will stand together throughout this whole thing. We are all we got." Jenna said. "Evie, we want you to lead us into this."
"Then I will. We are a family and everyone will know that. Now, once we walk in there, we will keep our heads high. I will do the speaking if that is what you wish." I said. They nodded. "Very well."
We headed back to the room where it fell silent upon us walking in. Everything was tensed and quiet, that you could hear a pen drop if you had one. Then Miranda broke the silcence. "Have you made your decision?"
"Queens and kings, we pledge to fight not only for you, but for the people and ourselves. We will finish what our ancestors had trouble doing." I declared.
