Back outside, he found Sol and Eva waiting in the MP’s vehicle. Thomas hopped in the vehicle and quickly explained to Eva what had happened to Jake and Marie.
Eva’s eyes widened. “And the dolphins? Has anyone checked on them?”
“No. They insist on investigating what happened here first.”
“We have to—”
“I know.” Thomas crawled into the driver’s seat. The MP had left the vehicle running so they would have air conditioning, and Thomas started it forward.
“Good thing these hydrogen cars are quiet,” he said.
“Dad!” Sol cried. “You can’t steal the car! This is the military, won’t they throw you in the brig or something?”
