Jealousy-the green monster

"So, one day my friends and I went to an amusement park. We were in the wave pool and having fun alright. Mona and I were not wearing our glasses okay so my other friend kavya went inside the pool by miss" I was telling my crazy story.
"Did she drown?" He asked chuckling.
I fake glared at him.
"Let me finish" I said eating my food.
"When she was inside the pool she saw a couple where that girl was giving that guy a hand job" I said winking at him.
He started coughing while drinking his mocktail.
"What the hell!" He said controlling his cough.
"Yeah, she came up and started laughing. She tried to tell us but couldn't stop laughing. We didn't give her much thought but when we came back home, she told us what actually was happening. We were so grossed about it that we actually were in that water and you know" I said laughing remembering that incident. We couldn't stop laughing and at the same time couldn't stop scolding her.
"God! People these days" he said laughing out loud.
"Yeah!you know because of the thrill" I said shaking my head.
We continued our chat until we finished dinner and paid the bill, we did half-sies like normal friends do.
When I got up I looked at Varun's table to see it empty. They must have left already since we were talking for such a long time and it was already 10pm now.
Alok dropped me at my apartment and went to his place. We did have a good time. I just feel like we are some long lost friends who can talk about anything and everything. I never was close with any guy, basically i never had a guy bestfriend.
In the company, everyone was close to me. Aarav is very close but Alok is someone I met outside of work.
After I changed my dress, I got a call from Mona.
"Hello darling!" I said in my fake British tone.
I heard her sob.
"What happened?" I freaked out standing still at one place.
"Akshu" I heard her voice between her sobs.
"What the hell happened mona?" I asked getting worried.
"My parents want me to get married" she said between her sobs.
I heaved a sigh in relief.
Shaking my head, I grabbed my apartment keys and went out. I got inside the elevator and went to the terrace. This will take a while and I want to breath some fresh air.
"First stop crying and tell me what happened properly" I said calmly sitting the swing.
"Dad's friend's son is done with his MD and now they have asked my hand to my dad" she said sobbing.
No one in our group has gotten married yet and no one's parents are forcing them about marriage but since she is the first one who got a proposal, she's freaking out.
"A Doctor, eh?" I said smiling.
"Shut up" she said sniffing.
"Okay, first calm down. They just asked your parents, it's not like your parents said yes right. Calm down, I'm sure if your parents are considering this proposal then they would have had a talk with my parents. I didn't get any call from mom so chill" I said swinging.
"But what if they force me" she said and I can feel that she was pouting.
"They won't. They won't force you until you agree or want" I said calmly.
I heard her sniffing stop.
"So I don't have to marry a stranger right" she asked in a cute way.
"Nope, now don't worry about. We are in this age and since we are gorgeous we will get proposals. Don't think about this too much" I said.
"Fine but for a second I thought my heart stopped beating. This was so scary"
"Wow, your heart skipped a beat listening to this proposals. Babe, he might be the one" I said joking knowing she will curse me.
"b***h! Shut up" she said angrily.
I laughed expecting that.
"Take a chill pill otherwise you will get white hairs" I said shaking my head.
"I will laugh when you will get a proposal, wait and see" she warned me and I laughed out loud.
"Babe, that's not gonna happen anytime soon" I said arrogantly.
I heard the door of terrace open as I was sitting on the swing near the door.
"Hello" I heard her voice
"Yeah, I'm here" I said starring at the stiletto at the door.
"Did you have dinner?" She asked me.
I saw the clear picture of Varun and my heart stilled for a second.
"Yeah, I did. Listen, are you okay now?" I asked her.
"Yes, I'm feeling fine" she said calmly.
"Okay, get back to work. I'll call you this weekend" I said starring at varun who was looking at me.
"Fine, bye good night" she said and hung up.
"Hey" I greeted him with a smile.
"Hi" he said slowly and came and sat on the other side of the swing.
"You here at this time?" I asked getting nervous.
"Huh, I couldn't sleep" he said shrugging but his eyes were on mine all the time.
"Oh" I said not knowing what to say.
"I didn't know you were dating Alok" he said hesitatedly.
I chuckled at his words.
"We are not dating, he was just kidding. He just invited me to that dinner as friends" I explained with a light laugh. The things that we talked tonight was not date night talk at all.
"Really?" He asked raising his eyebrows.
"Yeah and hey, your girlfriend is very pretty. Is she a model?"I asked looking at him.
He grimaced. I looked at him confused.
"I-huh umm she is not my girlfriend. My dad set up that dinner with her kind of like blind date. I didn't wanted to be rude so went on with it. I'm not interested in her" wow, thats the longest sentence I have ever seen him talk.
"Oh cool" I said shrugging.
"Yeah cool" he said hesitating.
"Um, I have to go sleep. I'm sleepy now" he said standing abruptly and walked out. I sat there staring at the closed door in confusion.
