Weird double date

I looked around this expensive restaurant which looked so luxurious and high-class. The interior design of this place was so high-toned and exclusive. All the people in this restaurant looked sophisticated and distinguished. They looked like snobby rich people described in the books I read.

I sat there in my pretty black dress in front of Alok, who was wearing simple black shirt and black pant looking gorgeous as hell. He looks so hot that I can’t even stop staring at him.

“What do you want to order?” He asked looking at the menu. His chef friend came and greeted us few minutes ago. They had some chef talk and later he told us to enjoy the food and went inside the kitchen.

“Chilly chicken and chicken biryani” I said with a satisfied smile.

He gave me a weird look.

“You are in a multi cuisine 5 star hotel and you want to eat that?” He asked looking at me as I have lost my mind. I rolled my eyes at him. This is when his god like looks doesn’t matter, he says what he thinks and most of the time it’s obnoxious.

“Oh sorry, Mr. Chef. I don’t have such unique taste when it comes to food. I like my Indian food and have no interest in trying other cuisine” I said plainly.

“I should have brought the girl who proposed to me last week” He clicked his tongue and shook his head as if he is disappointed.

“Dude, what the f**k? You were the one who asked me here” I said kicking his shin under the table.

“I’m just kidding” He said chuckling.

“Ha ha, oh my god Alok! You are so funny. Hehehe” I said fake giggling and he pouted at me.

“Fine, let’s order” He grumbled and called a waiter. We gave our order, he ordered some Italian dish that I’m not going to try to pronounce it.

Our food came shortly. We were lazily talking about his college days and my college days. We shared some of the crazy stories about our friends.

“Okay, this might be an uncomfortable story so you in” He asked drinking his soup.

Before I could said ‘Hell yeah’, I saw Varun standing straight in my eye sight and there was a girl beside him. She looked very beautiful, she was stunning actually.

They must be here on a date.

I saw Varun’s eye wander and finally settle on mine. His eyes widened when he looked at me, I gave him a small smile and waved my hands softly. His eyes moved from me to Alok’s back and his eyes hardened, he clenched his jaw looking mad.

Is something wrong?

“Are you listening?” Alok asked looking at me worried.

“Yeah, yeah. I am. Tell me that uncomfortable story, I so want to hear it” I said temporarily forgetting about Varun.

“Okay, in college one day my friends called me and told me to meet them near the bus stop that was beside our college. It was evening and I had bunked the classes that day so in the evening I got ready and went to meet them. One of the guy, let’s say X was squirming in his place sitting on bus stand chair. I asked my other friends who were looking at him in amusement that what is going and why is he behaving like that but soon after when X started moaning and squirming I understood something was definitely wrong. I asked my friends again and everyone burst out laughing. They told me that they have given him s*x inducing pill which you know” Alok said getting embarrassed and I burst out laughing.

“Oh my god! Tell me they didn’t do that, poor guy” I said in the middle of my laughter.

“Oh they did, I felt bad for him but he always used to prank us and taunt us, let’s just say the guy had huge ego. You know when it got more funny, he started calling us to do something for the you know” He said chuckling remembering that incident.

“Gosh” I said chuckling imagining the scene. In our gang, we never pranked anyone like this.

“That day was crazy” He said shaking his head with a smile.

I saw Varun stand up from his place and walking towards me.

Oh, he must coming here to say hi.

“Hey Varun” I greeted him when he was behind Alok. He came and stood beside our table. Alok looked to his left when he heard me.

“Hey man” Alok said and got up to do that bro shake with him while Varun looked shocked to see Alok.

“Are you guys on a date?” Those were his first words to us. He looked ticked but I don’t know why.

“Yeah, kind off. My friend is a chef here and he invited me” Alok said winking at me. I smiled shaking my head at his foolishness.

We were definitely not on a date.

Sure he is gorgeous and we get alone well but since the day we started talking, all the vibes that I get from him or what I feel for him is purely friendship. That’s it.

“Oh” that’s all he had to say in return.

“Are you on a date?” I asked nodding towards the girl he was having dinner with, who by the way was looking at us now.

“Yeah, kind off” He said looking annoyed but didn’t elaborate and I left it at that.

“That’s great man, I never heard of you dating someone. She must be pretty great” Alok said happily.

“Yeah, I should get back” He said hurriedly not even looking at me.

“Sure, can’t keep your date waiting. I want to meet her soon though” Alok joked around.

“I’ll let you guys get back to your date” Varun said curtly keeping his eyes on Alok all the time.

Is there something on my face?

Is my makeup smudged up?

Why isn’t he looking at me or acknowledging me for that matter?

He walked back to that girl and Alok sat down.

I too shrugged at the weird encounter and started talking with him again.
