His thoughts

I hate this. Grumbling I kept the paneer packets in the fridge. The only reason I’m doing this is because of Rose. She wants to do everything alone and refuses when I ask if she needs more help, I could hire others too but she wants to work all alone. Stubborn women. Suddenly Akshara Vashisht came to my mind in her panda clothes. I can’t believe she came out on the streets in that dress. She’s very daring, I’ll give her that. I did catch her looking at me from the terrace. I sat there on my balcony sipping my scotch looking at the night sky feeling numb when I felt someone’s eyes on me. When I looked around I saw someone standing on the terrace, it didn’t take me long to recognize her when she looked at me. The look on her face when her eyes met mine was hilarious. I almost laughed. Almost. I don’t know why but I’ve been meeting this girl at random instance more than usual. Maybe because she stays in my complex and also works in my company. She’s weird. Sometimes she’s like a wild cat but sometimes she’s like a scared house cat. I still can’t believe she had the audacity to yell at me the way she did that day and that to over a packet of chips. She’s insane. The fire she had that day was gone when she came to my cabin next day. I remember how scared she looked when she came into my cabin but at the same time she was enthralled by the interior designs of it. I felt proud seeing her reaction, I renovated the whole cabin after the took the position. My dad called today morning saying that he will be joining me for dinner with some guests at my place. Last few times when he invited me to his house, I bailed on him so I guess that’s why he changed the venue to my place so that I don’t have any reason to give. I do know that Aarav and his father, my uncle will be joining us. My dad invited Carla too. I sighed remembering her, she’s sure be a pain in my ass all night. Aarav’s father, my uncle Vishal is bringing some guests who are a surprise for me. At least that’s what they said. I heard Archie barking, yes I named the puppy Aarav brought. I forced the heck out of him to take it back but he didn’t budge but instead emotionally blackmailed Rose since he knew she’s a kind soul who would never say no to a stray animal. That bastard. I did give him a beating of a lifetime. “Go, he needs your attention” Rose hushed me out of the kitchen with a happy smile. I don’t get how this woman can be happy 24/7. I guess she has a reason for that or she’s just a happy soul. I’m so glad she’s in my life but at the same time I’m so jealous of her. I’ve never seen anyone as happy as she is. Lucky her. I nodded before walking towards the dog house that I have kept in the guest room which I have converted into his room. A room filled with chew dolls and play things for him. “Hey boy” I kneel in front of him before taking his leash to take him out for a walk. He gets cranky if I don’t by this time. Now a days I’m not that busy so I come back home as soon as the work is done. Once the new project starts I’ll be in the office more often than I can imagine. But I guess now I have some to come home to. I took him for his walk and came back to get ready. Dad called and said that he would be here in an hour. I got back home and took a shower. After showering, I got dressed casually in a grey shirt and a black blazer with black jeans. By the time I was completely ready, I heard the door bell. When I opened the door, I saw my dad, my uncle, Aarav along with a man and a girl. I invited them in greeting them. “Varun, this is Mr. Atul Singhania and his daughter Ria Singhania” Dad introduced them and I politely said hello and shook their hands. “Come on in” I showed them the way to the sofa. My uncle started talking to them mostly bragging about me. “Hey bro” said Aarav smiling widely as ever. “Hey, what’s going on?” I asked him with a frown. Our conversation was interrupted by the door bell. Sighing, I opened the door to see Carla standing there wearing a biggest smile. I fear her lips will stay like that forever. “Hello sir” she said smiling brightly and came to hug me but I moved aside. I heard Aarav snicker somewhere behind me. She covered up her frown with a smile. Just because dad called her here doesn’t mean I’ll be friendly with her. She’s the only one who should call me sir in the whole company. I don’t want to give her the liberty to call me by my name. I damn sure know she will misuse it. “Come in, dad’s inside” I said keeping my voice straight. Nodding in her embarrassment she walked into the living room greeting my dad. “What’s happening Aarav?” I asked feeling like something fishy is going on here. “Oh, I just got to know on the way bro. Your life will be turned upside down for sure” He said with a huge smile and mischief in his eyes. That’s not good. That’s never good.
