A Luna Lost

Chapter 4 All too familiar

"Do you guys know each other?" Before Zara spoke, Darius, who was sitting on the other side of the table, took an inquisitive look at them.

"No! We've never met before!" Zara denied, almost without thinking.

"No, we don't. The Zara Nelson I knew is dead." Alpha Marcus was silent for a moment and then sneered.

Zara finally raised her eyes and glared at him. The two kept staring at each other, making the atmosphere oppressive.

"Uncle Darius, who is she?" Marcus was still staring at Zara and wanted to know why she was there.

"She is the new designer hired by our company." Darius saw the look on both of their faces after seeing each other, but he pretended not to know anything.

She was still the same after five years as she was then. Marcus thought she would have a bad time, but he didn't expect her to be better and more beautiful than before.

Subconsciously, Marcus clenched his fists.

"You can go back now," Darius said after taking the pictures that Marcus handed him.

Alpha Marcus stopped staring at Zara. He tried his best to suppress his emotions and didn't say anything.

Instead, he just nodded to Darius before striding away.

After hearing him leave, Zara sighed with relief.

She didn't expect her new boss to be Alpha Marcus' uncle.

"Can I go back to work now?" Zara did her best to maintain her composure, even though she was still in shock.

"Go ahead," Darius permitted as he gave her a glance.

He saw that she looked a little frazzled. He realized that what his Beta found was the right information and that she was indeed his nephew's ex-girlfriend.

Zara walked to the elevator in a bit of a trance after leaving the president's office. When she reached the corner, a man suddenly reached out and yanked her back.

She let out a low cry by the sudden force exerted on her.

The man immediately covered her mouth to keep her quiet and dragged her to the corner.

With much effort, she broke free of the man's grip. After seeing who the person tying her up was, she became angry. "Marcus? What do you want?"

"I want to ask you the same question! How dare you have the face to come back? Why did you come to the Bosphis Group?" Alpha Marcus asked while approaching her.

"You just heard me. I'm a designer here, and I'm here to work!" Zara didn't step back. Instead, she looked up and met his eyes.

"Work? I'm afraid you want to do something else!" He scoffed and cupped her chin before leaning close and asked, "Are you trying to seduce my uncle?"

Zara frowned and slapped him in the face the instant she heard his malicious accusation.

"Alpha Marcus, you better stop this nonsense. I'll sue you if you say that to me again!"

"I know you've always been a nasty woman. Stop pretending to be innocent!" Alpha Marcus also got angry after she slapped him.

"I can accept that you don't believe me, but won’t stay down if you insult me! You believe in Sia, but why don't you believe in me?" She knew he was still insulting her for those photos back then.

"What’s more, you actually believe those photos are real? Have you ever wondered why the photos appeared at the coronation?"

"You didn't betray me? How dare you say that?" Alpha Marcus stared at her angrily. He believed her a little, but didn't dare to think about that possibility.

"I don't care if you believe me or not! We're strangers now anyway." Zara was tired, so she just looked at him indifferently.

She left in a hurry after she was done saying her part.

She later learned that Alpha Marcus had such a young uncle because Darius was born when his father, King Rig, was almost fifty years old.

However, if she had known that in the first place, she would never have agreed to work for the Bosphis Group.

After work, Zara returned to Becca's home. She worked very hard at work, so she was so exhausted.

Becca got off work earlier than her, so she stopped by the nursery to pick up Adrian on her way back.

"How was your first day at work?" Becca asked.

"Why didn’t you tell me who owned that company?" Zara asked, glancing at her.

"You saw King Darius, the wolf king? How was he? Isn't he handsome?"

"Why would it matter to me if he's handsome or not? He's Marcus' uncle!" Zara couldn’t help but glare at her friend. She wanted to vent out her irritation.

"So what? Not everyone can get into that company, so you should be happy now that you got hired. You don't have to care who his nephew is, Honey. Are you afraid he'll help Alpha Marcus give you a hard time?"

Zara frowned. She wasn't afraid of being humiliated, but she didn't want to get involved with anyone or anything at connected to the Bluemoon Pack.

"Mommy, my stomach hurts." Adrian suddenly came out of the room with his hand guarding over his stomach.

"What's wrong? Did you eat something wrong in kindergarten today?" Zara immediately touched his stomach and assessed his feeling.

"I don't know." Adrian shook his head.

His face was a little pale, and a cold sweat broke out on his forehead.

Zara knew Adrian, so she knew that he wouldn't have asked her for help if the pain was something he could endure.

"I'll take you to the hospital now."

"I'll start the car." Becca got worried too, so she immediately grabbed the car keys.

The two of them took Adrian to the hospital.

After examining him, the doctor asked Zara, "You said you came back from England yesterday?"

"Yes." Zara nodded.

"That explains everything. Don't worry, there's nothing serious wrong with him. He's just not adjusting to the new living environment. I'll prescribe a medicine for him,” the doctor explained while softly looking at them to ease their worry.

"Thanks, Doctor," Zara said with a sigh of relief.

Zara got the prescription and immediately went to pick up the medicine at the pharmacy while Becca stayed in the ward to take care of Adrian.

Zara was just heading back when she saw a familiar person.

After turning her head to look across the hallway, she was surprised to find that the woman was Sia!

Even though she hadn't seen her in five years, Zara immediately recognized Sia.

Sia was talking to a man in a white coat.

Zara couldn't hear what they talking about, but it seemed like they were being intimate with each other as if they were a couple.

"Did Luna Sia cheat on Alpha Marcus?"

Zara stared at the man's face but was surprised that he looked like the man in those photos from the coronation.
