The Gem

Chapter 14

Apparently, the guy had some beef with the drivers. The drivers looked so normal in the eyes of the assassin, but they were stronger and faster than the assassin in the eyes of the boss because he had fought and lost to the drivers. The boss of the drivers stepped forward and told the other boss that they should have a duel in order for things to be equal and fair. The other boss agreed. The assassin shifted to where the girl was. When he was about to escape with her, he felt a strong grip on his shoulder. He tried removing the hand but could not. He turned around and asked the guy who was holding his shoulder to remove his hand, or else he would regret doing that. The guy said to the assassin that no one was leaving until their boss was finished. The assassin got angry and held the hand of the man and twisted it slowly, and broke it in the process. The guy got angry and decided to throw a punch at the assassin. The assassin caught the punch and put the guy to sleep as he did not want to draw unnecessary attention to himself. After the guy passed out, the assassin gently placed him on the floor to avoid making noise as he needed to get Jacey to safety as he thought she was not strong enough to fight them. When he placed the guy down on the floor, he carried Jacey and put her on his back as he was sending her away. When he was about to leave, he remembered that he had left the suitcase on the floor around where the fight was going to happen. He decided to get Jacey to safety first and then come back for the money later as he wanted to get her to safety first, and the suitcase had a lot of money inside it. He carried Jacey on his back and ran to his house, which was a little far from where he was then. He ran at full speed and got there in a few seconds as he had used shifting. He placed her on a bed in one of the rooms without the suspicious looking guy and the woman who worked at the sewing store. He covered her with a blanket and turned off the lights before he left in order to prevent the suspicious looking guy and the woman who worked at the sewing store from noticing that she was in the house as he had no idea as to what either of them could do to her before he got back.

After all that, he ran back to where the fight was supposed to go down. When he was close enough, he noticed that the fight had not begun yet and wondered why they had not started yet as he needed the fight to be a distraction that worked in his favour. He had to wait a while until the fight started. Apparently, they were setting up barriers around the boss of the drivers and the other boss as they were both very strong and could destroy their surroundings once their full strength was released. The assassin was so angry when he saw the barrier being set up around the fighters that he immediately used his natural camouflage ability to sneak past the drivers.

One of the drivers who had the ability of extraordinary sight noticed him and slowly approached him, but the guy did not notice as he was too focused on acquiring the suitcase containing so much money that it could change his life in the blink of an eye. The assassin's senses triggered when that driver got close enough, so he turned around and saw the guy approaching him. He decided to use his ability of creating smoke to hide his presence by surrounding himself with smoke. In the smoke, he used another one of his abilities to turn invisible so that the guy would no longer be able to see or notice him as he was passing by. When he turned himself invisible, he immediately shifted in between the fighters through a small opening before the barriers had been completely set up. He felt the tension within the barrier, and it was so intense that he could not do anything but sit down in anticipation of the match. The boss of the drivers sensed his presence and asked him what he was doing there at that moment as the fight was about to start momentarily. The assassin pretended as though he had not heard the man as he thought the man was just saying something. He was short of words when the man started laughing. While laughing, the man told the assassin that he had no need to worry as he did not just harm anyone or anything because he wanted to. This made the assassin feel so relaxed.

A bell at the top of the barrier was rang to signify the beginning of the match. Before the assassin could completely blink even once, both fighters had launched themselves at each other. The assassin opened his mouth as he was so impressed with their speed. The other boss tried throwing a punch at the boss of the drivers, but he dodged effortlessly and gave the man a punch so hard that the barrier almost got completely shattered. The assassin opened his mouth again as he was so impressed by the strength of the boss of the drivers. Surprisingly, the other boss also threw another punch at the boss of the drivers. This one punch brought down the barrier surrounding them. The assassin stood up and opened his mouth again for the third time as both of the fighters were unbelievably strong. When the barrier fell, all of the other drivers outside the barrier showed no reaction as they knew the strength of both fighters. One of the drivers outside the barrier used his ability to rebuild the barrier into a stronger and much more durable form. Luckily for the assassin, no one beside the boss of the drivers noticed him escaping with the suitcase as the boss had the best senses among everyone present there. When he saw the assassin escaping, he smiled a little as he used to be an assassin as well. After the barrier had been completely set up again, the fight continued while the assassin was escaping. He was so glad that he survived everything that had happened. He was also very grateful that the boss of the drivers did not order his men to catch the assassin and torture him to death. He thought long and hard about why the man let him escape. He also wondered what his motive was and whether he had an ulterior motive or not. He walked on his way home as he was very exhausted after the day he had just had. He stopped by a club that happened to be opened at that time. He ordered a drink and some water as he was very thirsty and dehydrated. He drank the water with a very broad smile on his face as he was so glad. He even gave the waitress a tip for her hard work. He was feeling so generous that he did a good deed. He tried his best to avoid revealing the suitcase to the people at the bar as they all looked very dangerous, and he did not have any energy left in him to fight that day. When he was about to leave the club, he ordered food as the place was very safe and friendly unlike other nightclubs around. That made him feel very comfortable there. He left the club with a very broad smile.
