Chapter 20

By the end of their conversation, they had already arrived at the lecture hall. She asked Dinah where she wanted to sit during the lecture. Dinah told Jacey that she had already saved the seats by her for her friends. Jacey left with a sad face upon hearing this as she wanted to get to know Dinah a lot more as she seemed to be an interesting person. Dinah waved Jacey goodbye as she sat down, and Jacey walked towards her seat slowly. When she arrived at her seat, she noticed that a certain drink had been spilt on her chair, but it seemed as though the person who spilt the drink forgot to clean it before leaving. She hated being social as she saw it to be a waste of very essential time, and all the people in her class seemed to be very mean and cruel to her for some unknown reason. She had already confronted some of the people she knew who had already hated her.She knew that she could not ask anyone for a piece of tissue to clean the drink from her seat but just at that exact moment, she remembered that Dinah seemed to be a nice person. She took her bag with her and walked towards Dinah, who happened to sit a few rows behind her. She approached Dinah, who was about to begin learning and asked her if she had some tissue available, but it seemed as though she could not hear Jacey speak to her. Jacey lowered her head a little bit slowly and looked Dinah in the face. She noticed that Dinah had earpods in her ears. She noticed that Dinah was also enjoying some music. She tapped Dinah on the shoulder, and Dinah looked up finally and saw Jacey standing in front of her. She asked Dinah if she had some tissue to spare as she was in need of tissue to wipe the liquid of her chair. Dinah removed the earpods from her ears and searched her bag to see if she could find any tissue, but unfortunately, she could not find some. Jacey was about to leave with a sad look on her face, but Dinah told her to wait for a while. Dinah took her earpods and placed them in her pocket and got up from her chair, and walked towards the person sitting by her. She asked the person if she had any tissue, but sadly, she said she had none on her at that moment. She walked towards the next table as all the people seated by the previous person had no tissue on them. When she reached the next table, she got the same response from all the people seated at that table. When Jacey noticed that they all had no tissue on them, she told Dinah that it was alright, so Dinah should return to her seating place. Dinah approached Jacey with a sad face and sat down slowly. Jacey quickly ran out of the lecture hall in a way that did not reveal her superhuman speed or ability as there were so many people in the hall. She ran out of the hall as it was almost time for the lectures to start, so the lecturer could walk in any minute. She ran to the washroom in search of tissue. She arrived there in under five minutes as the washroom was not that far away from the lecture hall. When she entered the washroom, all the stalls had people using them as she tried opening them but was stopped by people using them. She decided to wait for about three minutes to give them some privacy to finish up as she was out of time, so she could not give them any more time. After the three minutes was up, not even a single stall had been opened. Also, not even a single person had finished using the stall or had left the stall. She decided to knock on the first stall to inform the person that she needed to use that stall. There was no response, so she tried again, but the person screamed at her from inside the stall for some reason, not known to Jacey. When she noticed how angry the person in the first stall was, she moved onto the second stall and knocked on the door, but the person in the stall kicked the stall from inside to alert Jacey that she was not done using the stall. Jacey was so confused and also, in a way, concerned about why they had been in the stalls for such a long period of time. She checked her watch and saw that it was ten minutes past the beginning of her lecture. She was about to give up when all of a sudden, the person in the third stall opened the door slightly and slowly without showing his or her face to Jacey and gave Jacey a very clean and sufficient piece of tissue for the wiping of the drink off the chair. Jacey humbly accepted it and shifted at full speed towards the lecture hall as all the people in the washroom were busy in the stalls and would not be able to notice her shift out of the washroom. When she reached the lecture hall, she saw that the lecture had already begun as the lecturer was standing at the front of the class lecturing the students. She noticed that the classroom was dark as the lecturer was using a projector to teach the students in the lecture hall. As she stood at the exit of the hall, she noticed that someone had already taken her seat and that her entire table was also full. Weirdly that day, the lecture hall was filled to capacity. The lecture hall had never been fully occupied ever since the first day that Jacey started attending that university. She was speechless and regretted leaving her seat in search of tissue. She turned around and was about to leave as that particular lecturer hated students who came late to his class and were busy looking for seats. She felt someone hold her hand and pull her back all of a sudden. She looked down as she thought she was imagining things during that moment. She waited for a few minutes and tried leaving again, but once more, she was pulled back by that same hand. She turned to see a certain stranger looking at the lecturer intensely while holding her hand. She wondered if it was a mistake and lowered her head, and tapped him on one of his shoulders. She asked him if he was calling her as he was holding her hand very firmly. He turned his head slowly and looked her directly in the eyes. She did not even blink once as she was not so sure about what the guy would do. After a few seconds of intense staring into each other's eyes, the guy asked her if she wanted to sit down and she gladly accepted as she was in need of a seat to partake in the lecture. She thanked the guy and smiled warmly at the guy to show her appreciation to him for what he had done for her. He told her that it was not really a big deal as it was the right thing to do at that moment. He also said that he noticed that she was in need of a seat for the lectures. He also knew about the behaviour of the lecturer, and so he decided to help her out of the worry she was in.Jacey was so grateful to the guy for what he had just done for her. He told the people by him to push.
