Chapter 9: CAN DISCERN THE SORROW IN HER FACE

I was devouring the fruit that Lily brought earlier when the door suddenly opened. My mother arrived.

"Son, how's your feeling now?"

"I'm getting better mom."

"When you finished eating get inside of the room to take a rest, I will call you when I have cooked dinner."

"Yes mom, I replied and obeyed what she said, I stood up and stepped into our room."

When I reached my room and lay down. I looked up at the ceiling and meditated, I wonder how my father is doing and where he is? if we are with him, Is our life situation will be prosperous or we are still so poor, he took a deep breath, I obtest God to bless my father hopefully we will meet him soon. I miss him so much,

I didn't feel a father next to me. I admitted to myself that I'm longing to my father's love, I'm in that position I till I finally dozed off. And I woke up from my mother's call.

"Son come and let's eat before the food gets cold. I heard her calling me to eat dinner, I got up and come out of the room."

At the dining table are a  rice and chicken stew dish and stir-fried vegetables. I pulled out the chair and sat down as mom put the pitcher of water on the table. mom sat in the other chair and we started eating we were in the middle of the meal when I abruptly mentioned in her about my father.

"Mom, what do you think? about where is my father currently? I asked. I can discern the sorrow in her faces, as she looked at me,

'I don't know son, I'll only depend on what's God plans, she answered. After she poured water in a glass and drink it.

"Forgive me, mom, I shouldn't have mentioned it to you so that you should not keep worrying." He said apologetically,

"It's alright son, I understand you want your father, I know how you miss him, you never even seen and recognized him, your to young when he left us."

"I'm sorry mom." He uttered.

"Let's better finish eating and rest early, as I need to go early tomorrow to the house of the de la Cruz family." He knew that his mother purposely change the topic,

"Yes mom, I will come with you tomorrow, I promised to the lily that I will go to her birthday party,"

"All right, go into the room and I'll just wash the dishes and I'll come."

I got up and headed straight to the bathroom to brush and change into my pyjamas, then I go to the cabinet. I searched for the small box. I opened it and took out the two  bracelets each has a fringe half heart and each heart something is written

sweet on mine and heart on her.

I put the box back in the cabinet. and I prepared the clothes that I will wear tomorrow.

I was nearly going to bed when my mother came in, with a tumbler of water on her hand.

"Did you prepare what you would wear tomorrow? she asked."

"Yes mom, I responded." before I went to bed my mother handed over me medicine. and I lie down after drinking it. I turn on the light next to my bed and my mother shut off the light on the ceiling. and I saw my mom going to sleep as well.

"Goodnight son!"

"Goodnight mom!"

"Son wake up," I gradually opened my sleepy eyes looking at my mother and asked what time it was?

"It's already been by seven in the morning, get up and get ready I'll just go to the kitchen and prepare our breakfast my mother said in a hurry."

I remember Lily's birthday today, so even though I was still drowsy,  I needed to get up. He stretched his arm's while still laying down the bed and then he got up and went to the bathroom. he ended brushing and changing his clothes.

And went to the kitchen and saw his mother sitting at the dinner table and drinking coffee. On top of the table was fried rice and fried eggs and a glass of warm milk.

"Come on son, sit down and eat,"

 I pulled out of the chair and sat down and I started eating,

"How's your feeling now?" His mother asked him with full of concerned.

"Getting better mom,"

"Are you sure? you want to come with me? or you can stay at home and in the afternoon I'll come and check you."

"Mom you don't have to worry, I'm feeling better now. I'll come with you I promise to Lily to come to her birthday party."

"Alright if you insist, Hurry up finished your food, and by the way don't forget to drink your medicine before we go also take it with you so you can have it in the afternoon, we may go home late at night." His mother said one after the other.
