Chapter 11After signing on the property, Darlene and I had discussed this and we both admitted that three donkeys, three milk cows, six cattle and a buffalo, along with a whole flock of poultry was a lot of work for me. How was I going to handle all of them plus twenty more buffalo while still getting some writing done? I had to hire a manager for the sanctuary, or at least an assistant for me. I’d need someone who could take over if I went away to lecture or something. Basically, I needed someone to permanently replace Tony.
I put an ad in the town newspaper and online: Wanted, manager for Buffalo Sanctuary. Must be good with large animals and chickens. Chores include managing a buffalo herd, cattle, and donkeys, milking three cows, and collecting eggs. Hard work expected. Vet experience
