Chapter One The night felt like one of the longest time in her life as she stayed awoke, waiting for the morning to arrive Riveria north was have a sleepless night as the clock ticked by, each second passing, it was going to be one of the most precious day she had ever dreamt of She was set to become the President of her company California branch of one of the most reputable company in New York Vintech Inc, the company she has been working for just 2 years was one one of the best in everything, with more than Seven thousand employees and an annual revenue exceeding 20 billion dollars And here she was, Riveria north, a woman of high standard and at the age of just 24 she was set to be the President of her company California branch, Vintech corporation It was an unimaginable feat for such a young age as hers, but her determination and perseverance has brought her to where she was now How could She sleep, her mind was already in fantasy of the day coming forth and sleep was no where to be found Several hours later the day brightens up and so did the joy on her heart as she longed for the new satisfaction the day was about to bring She took her bath before the usual time she normally does and searched for the most appealing dress, one she had bought specially for this occasion The morning finally arrived and the work engrossed Riveria north had no time to waste as she she came down her apartment building and her car was brought to the driveway The valet handed her the eyes of her still looking new Lexus RX 350, she smiled him as she took it from him "thanks" and got into her car 'such a gentleman' Anna smiled as she saw the valet slightly bowed in salutation, she was in a good mood this morning and it obviously showed …. The conference room was already filled up as they waited for the president of the board to get to conference room  The meeting was the quarterly report meeting which was held on each quarter of the year, so everyone was already aware of the time and the date it was to hold Which explains the full house gathered there today Added to the quarterly report that was the normal schedule of the meeting, there were few important announcements the president of the boards would make, based on the corporation newsletter that was released a week prior to the meeting "And I would like to introduce our new president of the California branch…." The president of the board was speaking There was a bit of tension in the air but not among the board members that were present as they had been the ones to make the decision on the new president "Our new President of the company California branch is none other than the young and intelligent Riveria north…" Mr Gerrard Omma, president of the board said out loud to the members in the conference room As everyone were now applauding the now standing and smiling Riveria north as she waved all in attendance, turning slowly around the conference table to make sure she waved at everyone Riveria north had practiced this a million times, but the joy she felt right now was just so overwhelming that she had to stop herself from dropping tears of joy "Thank you so much Mr Omma…. Am deeply touched by this, giving me such an opportunity to move this organisation forward through the proper running of the California branch" Riveria north thanked the president of the board while still standing as she was flowing with joy  "You deserve this Riveria, your hard work, determination and constantly pushing for the posterity of the organisation is very well deserved…." "And we hope you can use this new position to push even harder as we grow as a corporation and a family "  "Yes Mr Omma…. And to all present here today, I promise to use this my new position as the President of the company California branch to uplift the firm to greater heights" Riveria said with authority And all in attendance burst into a hand of applauds and one by one they congratulated  Riveria north for her current achievement Riveria smiled as she shaked hands and exchange greetings, giving compliments here and there and receiving much compliment too Even those other of her colleagues who were in consideration for the same position she had just acquired came to congratulate her too The First person that came to Riveria's mind to share this wonderful news was her best friend Loira, they have known eachother for decades and were now inseparable Then the thought came in 'Robert…..awwwww' she felt a bit of disappointment, her being the one disappointed with herself than he with her Robert was Riveria north boyfriend for a few months now, they have been together, but time was always against the tide of their relationship as Riveria was always busy with work The quaterly report meeting was getting near finished and everyone was satisfied with how it went The moment Riveria north was out of the meeting and going back to her old office She dialed her best friend number, Loira as soon as she got into the office  "Hey Loira…… Guess what?" Riveria said enthusiastically to her friend Hearing Riveria tone and the delight in it made Loira know that Riveria her friend must have had a good experience and was happy  "You got laid?….." Loira giggled in response to her friend enthusiastic mood "Seriously?…. No I did not, you have such a dirty mind" Riveria teased "Oh wow, you really should try and have an experience of it… But nevermind that, what is making my best friend all hyped up, tell me the good news I can't wait to hear it"  "I just got promoted to the President of the company California branch" Anna said smiling "Woohoo…. You serious girl?"  "Yeah I am, it's a big day for me today, we could go for one of those your parties this evening?" Riveria wanted to have a celebration for the promotion "Wow you never agree to come to the parties, always busy with your work.." Loira teased her best friend "Would really love to go with you do we could celebrate this new promotion… And also try to get you laid" Loira jested as they both laughed "But you know that my big project I told you about?…. It's tomorrow morning, so I probably shouldn't get a hangover just before it" "Yeah I understand, go kill it girl!!" " thanks bestie, but we could go celebrate probably tomorrow or next"  "Yeah sure" Riveria smiled through the phone in how lucky she was to have such an amazing friend
