Tina did not look up at the road as she walked, not until she heard a familiar voice call her name, "Tina." She raised her head and saw Patrick standing in front of her.
Bitter, angry, and resentful, Tina wanted to run past him, but Patrick quickly caught her by the arm and held her back to stop her from running away. The day had fully broken, and he did not mind the passersby staring at them.
"I'm sorry," Patrick apologized softly, pulling Tina closer into a hug. She sobbed against his chest, wanting to get away from him, hitting his chest to let her go.
"No. Come with me, let me take you home to your village," Patrick said, enduring Tina's hits on his chest as she cried. Some onlookers wondered who the sweet romantic couple was; that they were seeing at such an early hour.
Tina finally calmed down and pulled away from Patrick, realizing she had been sobbing against his chest. Patrick still held her hand closely as he walked with her to his car. He let go of her hand and helped her sit in the front passenger seat, saying, "I know your village junction, and I will take you there."
Tina didn't respond to Patrick, as she sobbed and watched him shut the door. Patrick walked back to the driver's seat and got into the car, knowing he would be late for work but still wanting to ensure Tina got home safely.
Patrick started the car's engine and drove off to Tina's village junction, while Tina continued sobbing in the car, not looking at the road or giving him any directions.

Sharon and Prisca returned to Patrick's house from their night of clubbing. The security man informed Sharon, "Boss is not home; he has left for work."
"Okay, how about the lady?" Sharon asked about Tina, and the guard replied, "She also left earlier, before the boss did."
"Okay," Sharon said, not wanting to ask further questions as she was too tired after staying up all night partying and later spending time with a rich guy she met at the club. She walked towards the house door with Prisca, unlocked it with her spare key, and entered the house. Her two previous friends had both gone back to their homes, except for Prisca, who asked, "What did the security man say about Tina?"
"I'm tired, Prisca. He said that Tina has already left," Sharon replied lazily, feeling sleepy. Prisca asked again, "With your brother?"
"No, Prisca. The gate man said that Tina left earlier before Patrick did," Sharon answered, while Prisca sighed, "Okay, better that way."
Prisca couldn't hide the fact that she was jealous of Patrick liking Tina over her. She hadn't even wanted to go out with Sharon the previous night, leaving Tina alone with Patrick. But with the hot gossip Sharon and her friends were discussing about the new club, Prisca couldn't resist the urge to visit there too, hoping to meet a handsome man. She knew Patrick never took her relationship with him seriously. Instead, he kept asking her about Tina.
Tina, Tina, all the time. He even gave her gifts to send to Tina, asking her to talk to Tina on his behalf and bring Tina over whenever she visited his house.
Even the last time, Patrick had given her 20,000 cash just so she could bring Tina along. She told him, "Tina didn't accept the money, as she doesn't like associating with guys." She had spoken to Tina about considering dating Patrick, but Tina refused, saying she didn't need a boyfriend. She didn't want to lose her pride to a mere boyfriend but wanted to keep it for her husband as a wedding gift on their wedding night.
Prisca remembered telling Tina it was a waste to keep her virginity because the so-called husband in the future wouldn't be a virgin either. So what was so special about Tina keeping hers when she could explore the fun at their age? But Tina was adamant, saying it was her decision, and her mother wouldn't be happy if she found out she had a boyfriend.
Prisca sighed and decided to stop bothering Tina about Patrick. Instead, she kept collecting gifts from Patrick, claiming she would talk to Tina on his behalf without bothering to tell Tina anything about Patrick again. She remembered that even when she told Tina to follow her to Sharon's house, she never brought up the topic of Patrick wanting her because she had long told Tina she was now dating Patrick herself. That made Tina less worried about following her to Patrick's house, even though Tina didn't know the place they were going was outside their village and the nearby town, and more likely Patrick's house too.
Prisca knew Tina would have turned back home if she had known Sharon's brother was Patrick and that it was actually Patrick's house they were going to. But they had walked far from home before she stopped a bike and dragged Tina to hop on with her.
Prisca was still worried about Tina and slightly jealous, knowing Tina had slept over at Patrick's house the previous night, alone with Patrick. She wondered what really happened between them but hoped Patrick didn't do anything silly with Tina, as she knew Patrick to be a gentleman after resisting her several advances to get intimate with him.
Prisca sighed, already tired after making out the previous night with a rich guy she met at the club for just 10,000 cash. She thought to rest for a while in Sharon's room before going back home to her mother's house, knowing her mother wouldn't even question her whereabouts. She walked into Sharon's bedroom to rest, too tired, and laid down on Sharon's bed, falling asleep.

Sharon got into the house and first went to the restroom to ease herself and wash her face, before checking if Patrick had left any food since they had visitors the previous night.
Sharon stepped into the kitchen and opened the pot, surprised to see that Patrick hadn't even warmed up the leftover food. She wondered what really happened, why Patrick didn't warm up the meals before leaving for work early.
Sharon proceeded to heat the food first so it wouldn't spoil while she made tea and bread for herself as breakfast. After eating, she went to check on Prisca and saw that Prisca was already sleeping on her bed, not even bothering to shower or eat.
Sharon decided to let Prisca rest because she too was tired, but she got really curious to know what happened between Patrick and Tina the previous night and to clear her doubts about why Patrick didn't warm up the food.
Sharon went to Patrick's room door and was surprised to see it slightly ajar, knowing Patrick usually locked his room door. She pushed the door open and walked into his room, shocked to see red bloodstains on the white bed, knowing Patrick liked using white sheets.
Sharon was shocked out of her daze and immediately ran faster to her bedroom to wake Prisca up, unable to believe her eyes.
"Prisca! Prisca! Wake up!" Sharon screamed and shook Prisca vigorously to wake her, as Prisca was still snoring on her bed.
"Prisca!" Sharon yelled again, and Prisca finally woke up, sitting up on the bed as she stretched, planning to sleep a little before going back home to meet her mother.
Prisca knew her mother wouldn't complain once she told her she was at a friend's place. Her mother wouldn't even ask if the friend was male or female, only replying, "Okay."
Prisca stared at Sharon, who frowned, and twisted her face in irritation, asking, "What's it? Why did you wake me up, Sharon, and why are you staring at me like that?"
Sharon shook her head, stood up from the bed, laughed out, clapped her hands together, and said, "You wouldn't believe it."
"Believe what?" Prisca asked after clearing her eyes, knowing she wouldn't be able to sleep again in Sharon's room as Sharon had already disturbed her rest, and she had to prepare for home.
"What's it?" Prisca asked again, meeting Sharon's intense gaze, and Sharon questioned, "Why didn't you tell me your friend was a p********e and didn't have any self-control? You wouldn't believe what I saw there."
Sharon shook her head, and Prisca asked, "What did you see?"
Prisca was confused and wanted Sharon to get straight to the point.
Sharon said, "Some girls can pretend, sha! Did you know I went to my brother's room now to check why Patrick left so early without even warming up the leftover food he made last night before we left? Remember he was cooking?"
"Yes, I remember," Prisca answered.
"Come and see for yourself," Sharon said, dragging Prisca by her right hand to stand up from the bed and follow her to Patrick's room.
