The Goddesses Time

First was the earth, water, land, and then light. The sun was needed to warm the planet and light the day. But when the sun dipped behind the horizon, the land was dark. So the gods who created the moon and thus created me. I came into being born from the tear of a mother, the howl off a wolf, and the cry of a newborn babe. My skin is gray like the dust on the moon, my hair is as white as the snow, my eyes are like the moon's ever glowing orbs of radiance. A gown made of the heavens covers my body and flows behind me like the ever-flowing sea and a floating crown of the moon's phases that circled above my brow. As I took my first breath and exited the moon's core, I was greeted by many beings of light. They bestowed upon me the power to create, to guard the night, and to fill it with creatures like me. I couldn’t give them everlasting life, for they would need to come home one day, but they needed to live longer than most. They would have strength, smarts, cunning, beauty, loyalty, honor, unity, and love. They would change forms like the moon and blend with the beasts of the wild. They would be one with nature but able to mix with the beings that owned the day. I began to build my beings immediately. I started with a man's body. I grew its mind ever so slightly, enlarged its muscles, and strengthened its bones. I then went back to the brain. I enlarged the scent recognition areas as well as the sight. I grew the areas of communication and added the power to link its mind to those like it. I delved deeper into the mind, finding the places for language and enhancing them to read body language better. Moving back to smell, I allowed it to smell changes in moods. I then turned my attention to hearing. They needed to be able to hear over long distances, I also connected it to the other seances so that hearing could since emotions. Next was the eyes; they needed to notice quick movement and see better in the dark. I labored on the mind for many months, tweaking and changing until I felt it was right. I also moved back to the body, making it more flexible and sturdy, able to take a hit and heal itself. It needed this if it was to rip itself apart and become a beast. Now, the beast. With the human body done, I needed to choose a beast that it could change into and blend with the others already on earth. One day, I could make other beasts or even stronger ones than these to lead them if they needed it, but for now, I just needed to make one. One stuck out to me immediately. The wolf. Strong, resilient, and family-oriented. They thought of others, used their minds, and brawn to get things done. They kept the balance of the world. How fitting. So I then took the form of a wolf and began combining the minds and bodies of man and beast. I needed the beast to be bigger than the other wolves of the world so there wouldn't be any fighting. I made some bigger and stronger than the others. These would be the leader. But they would need help. So, I made a chain of command like that of the wolf: the Alpha, his mate, the Beta, the Alpha's second, and his mate, and the Gamma and his mate. The Alpha and his mate would be the strongest not only in size and strength but also of the mind. The Betas would be a close second, and the Gammas would be slightly stronger than the average wolf. After I had made and made tweaked and moved, I was finally happy, and I set my creations to the world. Things went well … at first. But then I saw that they needed some guidance. Someone who knew about the wolf and the change. Someone to help them understand the way of an animal. So I called them back and began to set back to work. The wolf inside them needed its own mind. Its own wants and desires. It needed to be able to see the world differently so that it could help guide them in ways they hadn't thought of before. The mind had to be similar enough so that they could get along but different enough to see things differently. It also needed to stay like that of an animal to help guide them against the harm to the wild. Once I was satisfied with this, I set them to the world once more. All was good. They were prolific. They were beautiful. But something ate at me. Yes, they had love, and they had young and they cared for each other, but something was still missing. For many years, I pondered over this. I listened to their dreams and wants and desires. One day , she wolfs thoughts caught my attention. “ If only he saw me as I saw him, if only their was something stronger that tied our love together. Something that made him crave me as I craved him. I feel like he is the other half of my soul, yet he chases any tail he finds. Can't he see how this hurts me ? cant he feel my pain?” The other half of his soul……" that was it! The true tie to your love. Your reason for being. How could I have not thought of this before ! I thought of bringing them home again, but they were too many, and too much time had passed. Their mark on the earth was too great, and they would be missed. I'd have to go to them. To change something like this, something so monumental to their being without knowing why would be cruel. But I could call to their wolf first. They would be the main part in this, so their knowing first was vital. So I opened up my mind and brought home the beasts. They were in shock at first. So many I hadn't seen in so long. Last I had seen of them, they were but pups running in the fields of the Ever After forest. They knew me immediately. “MOTHER !” they sang. One older wolf stepped forward “mother, why have you brought us here ? is something wrong with the world ? “ I met his gaze. Omegus. The oldest Alpha is currently on earth. Of course, he would take charge. The others already knew he outranked them and were more than happy to let him take charge. Minus a few restless young-ling alphas in the back. I smiled warmly at him and said “No my dear. But something has been brought to my attention. Love” He c****d his large head to the side and narrowed his eyes “love your highness ? what do you mean ?” “yes goddess, what do you mean ?” the others echoed. I raised my hands to quiet them and began to explain. I saw that though the ties to each other were great, the love of another was often overlooked. They nodded their heads in agreement and looked between each other as they did so and then back at me. I told them that I was going to put in place a mate bond. I would find for each wolf and human another wolf and human that would be the other half of their soul. The bond would make them stronger. They would be able to feel what the other felt and the pain that the other caused to the other. They would no longer yearn for the touch of another and would feel great pain if they decided to go against it. The touch of your mate would forever be magical and electric. The smell of your mate would be alluring to you and you alone. This was all very exciting to them. They began to howl and prance in place with excitement. They couldn’t wait to get back to earth and share this news with their humans. But many had questions. “But mother, how will we know that it is them ?” Some called out “How will we show others that they are taken ?” I few eyes glowed with this one and even a few growls of approval. I couldn’t help a slight chuckle at this one. “What of the humans ? what if they hurt them ? they don’t always listen to us, mother.” nods of agreement came with this one and a few huffs. I smiled. Oh, these wolves. This is why I knew that it was best to have them in charge of this. They did not dwell on the power that it would give them or take from them only the love. They knew that having someone at your side to call you out when you were wrong but also support you and to lean on was the best thing to happen. I could feel the excitement in the air. But I could also feel the humans on earth begin to worry. They couldn’t contact their wolves. They couldn’t shift. I needed to hurry. “calm now, my loves. Give me a minute to explain.” I said with a chuckle. I looked at all of them and waited for them to settle. “Now then, when your mate is near your heart will race. And yes, even your human will feel this. You will smell them. A mate scent. It will fill your body, and even your human will find it irresistible. You will follow the scent to them. This is when you will come in my dears. You will feel my light come to you then, and I will tell you that this is the one. You will feel the connection right away. You will need to let your human know them that this is the one. You will feel possessiveness towards them. You will want to have them in every way. On touch, you and your human will feel electricity in touch. Everything about them will light a fire within you. Your skin will dance with pleasure. Yes, sometimes the human may not understand why this wolf has been chosen for them and may not want this union, but the bond will draw them to each other. They will begin to see the qualities that make them perfect for them. Yes, some of them may still want to be with others, this is why I have decided to cause pain to both if they decide to be with another. I know it seems unfair to the one that wasn’t unfaithful, but they will know what is going on and can do something about it. And yes, some humans will go down a dark path. They will seek power and, in doing so, may decide to lay hands upon their mate. Some may decide that they simply don’t want to stay with just one partner. Because of this you can reject your mate. It is very painful and unfortunately you, my dear wolf, will feel it the most. But so will your human. The wolf that went against the bond will never again be given the gift of a true mate. But the one that was pure to the bond will be given another. To show others and connect you to your mate on a deeper level, you will have a mating ceremony or process that you must go through. You will bite the neck of your mate in human form. You will know exactly where when the time comes. You will then breed with your mate and then go for a run together. All of this will be very pleasurable for both of you. This act will permanently intertwine your soul with your partner. You will carry each others scent and will be able to find them wherever they may go. The mark will forever be on them for all to see. If they are to leave, you will feel it. If they leave for wrong or selfish reasons, you will feel it.” I explain all the ins and outs of the mating bond. I answer many questions. Some about pups, some about claiming, some about second chances. I answered all of them. “ One last thing. If you remember nothing else, remember this. You must protect your mate at all costs. Because this bond is to your soul if your mate dies, you could as well. The bond needed something to power it. The soul was the perfect battery. It is directly linked to it. Now. Your humans are restless. Soon you will return to them. You are aloud to tell them that I am coming with great news and that I called you here but nothing else. Remember, my loves, you are all my greatest creations, and I love you dearly. Though I can't wait until you are in my arms again, be safe and live well.” At this, I transform into my wolf form. The other wolfs bow with their nose to the ground and then raise their heads to the sky, and we all howl together. We take off in a brisk run all of my children following behind me into the woods and up the hill. I stop at the peak, and they all run past me and leap into the void back to their humans. Tears begin to fall from my eyes as I watch them go. My beautiful children. I'll see you soon. I turn back into my human form as the last one leaves. I look onto the earth. Now, to tell the humans.
