Lilith's POV

Beta June's action pisses me off. The way she carried herself with pride in front of me was disgusting. Was shoving herself down my throat necessary?

Gosh!

Beta June finally stopped in front of a room within Alpha Dragan's mansion. “This place is your room.” She turned her eyes stylishly trying to prove that she was classy.

“Okay.” I replied to her in a cold manner and she walked out of my presence. While I took a walk into the room.

Looking around, the room was quite a nice place - way better than my pack’s room. I could tell that Alpha Dragan was very rich.

Sighs!

I do not love the smell coming from my body. And so, I went into the bathroom to shower. When I was done showering, I came outside with a towel tied around my body only to meet Alpha Dragan in the room.

“What are you doing here?” I narrowed my eyes.

But he was silent as he gazed at me. I could see how he gulped his saliva and his mouth widened for a moment.

‘Why is he staring at me like that?’ I became uncomfortable.

But he quickly snapped out of it. And he moved some inch closer to me. But I back away gently until I hit my back against a wall. He placed his hand across my head.

“What is the problem with you?” He asked with a thick voice.

“Don't you think you are too close to me? I am literally choking.” I spoke in the most irritating manner and I thought he was going to flare.

But he scoffed and he smirked. “I do not care even if you choke to death. You've no use to this world anyway.”

That word hit me and I got very angry… “And you have no use for this world either. You could have just died a miserable death.” I lashed at him and he was taken aback.

“What the hell did you mean by that statement?” His face was harsh as he spoke angrily.

My voice was dead silent as I gazed at his face.

“Tell me you didn't mean to say that.” He widened his gaze with an imposing might.

But I smirked aggressively. “I mean every word. Die, Alpha Dragan.” I spoke with hate.

And his face was mixed with confusion. “Why do you resent me so much?”

“Just because you lost a loved one, you destroyed and killed innocent lives. My brother and I knew nothing about what happened and you abducted us. Give me a good reason I won't resent you.” The fear within me had disappeared and I vented my anger.

He arched his eyebrows. “Your pack deserves what they got in return. I do not care who takes the hit. You do not know how much pain I am feeling right now. I guess you've not lost a loved one.” His emotions throbbed as his eyes redened.

But I scoffed in the most irritable manner. “I lost my family to a fierce battle. Who could be more dear to me than my brother's, sisters and parents that died? Talking of pain, I've gone through the same.” Hot tears dropped down my eyes as the hurt flowed through my veins.

Alpha Dragan sucked his tongue in abject silence. He turned and he took his leave.

Jamming my door aggressively, I remained that way and walked to my bed whilst remembering everything that happened to me in the past.

Buried my ass on the bed and I cried like a child.

The same day, that evening.

I had wept heavily and slept earlier. And now that I was awake, I was still hurt. My thirst for revenge wasn't resolved.

Suddenly, my heart twisted in an heavy pain and my wolf growled with a strange voice - that growl was something I was familiar with.

‘Something is wrong.’ I echoed but I wasn't sure of what it was.

But I felt my throat was dry and I decided to take water. That prompted me to walk out of my room.

Upon getting outside, I heard the cold whispers of Alpha Dragan's maids.

“Alpha Dragan is sick to death and the pack doctor couldn't detect what is happening to him.”

“I am scared… I hope we won't lose Alpha Dragan. He has been good to the pack.”

When I heard the echoes of their words, I was surprised. ‘Alpha Dragan got sick?’ That was a hard one to believe. I remembered that we spoke earlier today, ‘How could he be sick to death?’

There was a mix of confusion on my face. ‘That’s none of my business.’ Still feeling hurt, I wanted to ignore.

But my wolf growled with a sad voice. That reminded me of how my wolf growled earlier.. ‘It’s telling me that Alpha Dragan is in danger.’ I do not want to listen to its growl. In fact, I wanted Alpha Dragan dead.

Apart from my wolf's alert, there was something in me that wanted Alpha Dragan alive. Something in me doesn't want him dead. And I felt overshadowed by that positive will.

I sighed with displeasure and advanced slowly to Alpha Dragan's room.

Upon getting there, there are two hefty guards on the way.

I wanted to turn back and just leave everything, but my heart wouldn't let me. “I want to see Alpha Dragan.” I said to the royal guards.

“i am sorry, he can't see anyone.” The royal guard expressed with a rigid voice.

“I am Alpha Lilith and I demand to see the sick Alpha Dragan. Don't forget that I am also his mistress.” I can't believe I could say what I said just now.

The royal guard looked at each other and they faced me. “You can't go inside.”

Just after their words, the door creaked and Beta June stepped out of it.

Her eyes minced slowly. “What are you doing here?” She asked with an air of pride.

“I heard Alpha Dragan is sick to death and I am here to see him.” I replied to her softly.

But she looked at me with a cold disgust. “The last time I checked, you ain't a doctor. Are you?” She asked swiftly, turning her fierce face at me.

“I know a lot about medicine. And I can be of help to him.” I replied to her.

But she scoffed. “Alpha Dragan destroyed your pack and made you serve him. Now, you are here in a disguise to save him?” “You must think I am a fool. Get out of here or I will instruct the guards to kick you out.” She spoke with a flare.

I would have stayed back. I would have just left slowly. But there was something amiss about her behavior. I thought she was being protective of him but my wolf was saying otherwise.

“Is there a chance that you want Alpha Dragan dead?” I frowned my face.

But she responded with a cruel slap. “Are you nuts? Why would I want Alpha Dragan dead? I am simply protecting him from you.”
