Lilith's POV
“Slaps.” Her slap was like a thunder strike and I couldn't help it but hold my face and groan in pain for a moment.
“if you like yourself, you will get out of here!” She yanked outrageously and I shot disgusting glare at her face.
I knew what she was trying to do - get rid of me from that premises and I won't allow it.
“Why are you so angry if you are not guilty? Just one slap won't get me out of here. Beta June, if you do not have something up your sleeves, allow me to check on Alpha Dragan!” My voice trailed audibly. My heart was filled with desperation as anger burst through my voice.
Beta June shot a disgusting glare at me. “I do not have anything up my sleeves. Alpha Dragan doesn't want to see anyone._
Just as she let out that statement…
“Let her in!” The helpless voice of Alpha Dragan filled the atmosphere. He coughed aloud as soon as he let out that word.
‘The sickness has eaten him deeply to get to this stage. What could be happening? I must definitely get to the bottom of this.’ I heightened my gaze and peered into the eyes of Beta June.
“Get out of my way.” My voice was a little above a whisper. But it was cruel, rigid and face slapping and I pushed Beta June sideways just to gain entrance.
But Beta June wouldn't give up easily. She held me by the wrist. “If anything at all happens to Alpha Dragan, I will make sure you face a death penalty.” Her voice was storming, disturbing and threatening.
I glanced at her face with disgust and I forced my hand out of her grip. “I've something very important to attend to.”
I walked slowly to the bed of Alpha Dragan. When I wanted to lay my hand on him, he grasped my hand in mid-air promptly. And he opened his sick eyes slowly.
“My life is in your hands. You can choose to take it or fix it.” He spoke with his emotions visible. He loosened his grip and he shut his eyes.
Although I hated him and I wanted him to pay for what he did to my pack. But for some reasons, I am genuine with my help towards him.
‘Don’t worry. You will be fine.’ My heart echoed and I placed my hand on his forehead.
When I didn't detect anything… “bring out your tongue.” I ordered. Even though Alpha Dragan was tired, he brought out his tongue slowly.
And when I saw his tongue, my eyes widened with shock, because I recognised what was happening to him at that moment. ‘The wild grass poison. Who could have wanted him dead to feed him that? Its antidote is rare.’ But to be certain, I used my hand to widen his eyes.
His pupils has turned purple which means the poison has almost reached his heart. “This is not good, Alpha Dragan. You are suffering from the wild grass poison.”
Hearing that, he forced his eyes open. “Wild grass poison? What's that?” He asked slowly.
“I will explain to you later. Right now, you need to order any of your soldiers to get the Basmir antidote. The antidote must be here before six hours.”
“Okay.”
“Beta Ray!” Alpha Dragan managed to call aloud and Beta Ray walked into the room.
“Alpha, how can I serve you?” He bent his head in loyalty.
“You have four hours to get the Basmir antidote. You must go alone.” Ordering him, he stood on his feet and left Alpha Dragan's presence.
Thirty minutes later, Beta June walked into Alpha Dragan's room. “It's thirty minutes. What are you still doing in Alpha Dragan's room?”
“Shut it. I don't want to hear your voice again.” When Beta June heard Alpha Dragan speak that way, she was shocked and she looked at my eyes keenly.
Beta June was forced to be silent.
I sat beside Alpha Dragan's bed and wouldn't stop touching his head to check if his temperature was rising.
Luckily, his temperature was still normal. Which indicated that the poison hasn't reached its final bus stop.
Three hours later, I placed my hand on Alpha Dragan's head and my eyes widened with shock.
“Beta June! Get me cold water. Alpha Dragan's body temperature is rising.” I ordered from where I was while I got hold of his towel.
Beta June was reluctant but with the situation on ground, she couldn't say reject. She stood up hurriedly to get the water. Upon bringing the cold water, I immersed the handkerchief and used it to massage Alpha Dragan's head.
‘Where is the soldier? Why isn't he here yet?’ I panicked as I hoped to save his life.
Thirty minutes later, he walked into Alpha Dragan's room.
“What took you so long. The poison has reached its final bus stop. His heart will soon stop. Bring the antidote.” I demanded sharply.
Beta Ray brought the antidote and handed it over to me. I collected it at once and gave it to him to drink.
I applied the remaining on his hand and feet.
“Alpha Dragan will be fine in the space of four hours.” I spoke softly.
Beta Ray was delighted. The maid that came at that minute was very happy too. But I turned to face Beta June… her eyes are cold as the stone. She stood up hurriedly and left the room.
‘She must have poisoned Alpha Dragan. I must warn Alpha Dragan to be weary of her.”
Four hours later, Alpha Dragan opened his eyes after a long sleep. His eyes were as bright as the light as he looked at me.
“How are you feeling now?” I asked him immediately when I saw that he opened his eyes.
For the first time since I met Alpha Dragan, he half-smiled. “Thank you, Lilith.” He appreciated me wholeheartedly. “I am fine now.” He expressed and lifted himself up.
“Alpha, before you show yourself to the world… there is someone I must warn you about.”
Just when I said that… “And why are you trying to create enmity between the Alpha and his pack members?” Beta June cut in elegantly.
