File For Divorce.

The more I got to know her, the more I saw her heart. She often placed a hand on my shoulder and said, “I warned you, Rose. I told you about that monster.” For seven years, those words haven’t changed. “I didn’t know, Taila,” I sobbed. “I never would’ve stayed.” But it was too late for regrets. “Listen to me, Rose,” she said firmly, turning me to face her. “I need you to do something for me.” I sniffed back my stuffy nose. “What is it?” And wiped off my tears with both hands. She wore black leather trousers, black boots and a plain white singlet. She had perfect makeup on and smelled so good. Her scent and Pierce’s are similar. “Divorce that monster. He’s up to no good. You can get married again if you want, Rose. You are almost 28 years old. Still have time. You can’t keep staying at my brother's forever. He would mess you up.” I frowned a little. “You want me to divorce Jonathan???” I didn't believe my ears. “Yes, why? Don’t you want to divorce him?” She shrugged her shoulders. “You can’t continue with this s**t. Your mother doesn’t care about you. The people you sacrificed so much for don’t give a damn about your ass if you drop dead this instant. They care about themselves. Don’t you think so?” She stood up from the bed in annoyance. “This is pissing me off, Rose. You can’t keep standing there and letting this loser beat you up. I can’t…” her hands ruffled through her bangs. “I can’t stand this anymore.” She shook her head. “If you don’t do something about this, Rose, I’m gonna do something about it. Come on, Rose. Wake the f**k up. No one gives a s**t about you here. Your brother’s disappeared. Your father is just busy with his exotic life. He doesn’t even like you as his daughter. Your mother sold you off to my brother for influence and wealth. No one…is…” she paused. “No one wants you, Rose.” She lowered her voice. “Your child died in a car accident, and nothing got done about it.” She took my hand to stand up from the bed. “Taila…” I mumbled. “Do something about it, Rose. I’m with you. Divorce Jonathan Mist and go away from here.” She advised me. “I’m sorry to say this, but there is nothing connecting you to him anymore.” She paused. “Lucy is dead.” Her last words hit me. I took my hands off hers and turned my back on her, holding back more tears from falling. “I just came back from my flight.” Her tone got lower. “This is what I came to see. I will go back abroad again. Soon. You will be all alone once again. Aren't you tired? Don't you feel suffocated?” My lips tightened, looking down at my hands. “I have a lot of work to do, Rose. You are here suffering over nothing. Over this pig. Look at what I just saw the second I came in here. You are lamenting and crying. Your mother didn't even flinch. She stood up with her Chanel bag and threw you aside. As if—” she stopped. I sensed her hands rubbing her face tiredly. “What is wrong with you? You are not a child. By next year, you will turn 28. You are gonna grow old and wretched because of these people.” Her voice got louder in annoyance. “They are sucking your f*****g life away, and you are just standing there instead of divorcing this bastard.” She yelled. “How long are you going to continue like this?” “I can’t do it.” I whispered. “Why? Why, Rose???” She came to me and pulled me to face her. “Don’t you want to get a divorce? Do you know what you’ve gotten yourself into?” “Yes—” She cut in. “No, you have no clue of what you’ve gotten yourself into. You’ve been here for 7 years, so you had no clue about our lives. Have you ever wondered why none of the Mist families stay around? No, you don’t know. You are just an innocent wolf, an Omega, who knows nothing about politics. If you weren’t my friend, I would’ve called you a fool.” “You can call me a fool all you want, Taila.” My voice cried out. “I deserve it, and I’m a fool.” I screamed. “No, don’t respect me, Taila. Just insult me and say it to my face how stupid I am.” I kept crying. “Do you know how many times I have dreamt about letting Jonathan go? Want to divorce him. I want us to go our separate ways, Taila. I want to turn back and never see him again. Regardless of what he has done, I thought, ‘Yeah, he’s gonna change’ I will keep waiting for him. I kept hoping. Unfortunately, my time got wasted." I couldn’t hold my words in. "Taila, if I divorce this alpha, my family will fall. And I would be the topic of everyone’s discussion about how I ruined my family. Jonathan raised my family’s status. If I let him go, he will cancel the contract and push my family onto the street. I don’t want to make my family suffer because of me. That’s the problem.” “Rose.” Her eyes closed for a second before Taila mentioned my name. “I hardly come to visit you because I don’t want to hear these words from you. This home,” she looked around. “This home was the place your daughter died. I don’t think Lucy would love to hear all these words from you.” “Taila—” “You sound disgusting, Rose.” “Taila.” “I'm disappointed in you. I don’t come to visit often because of stupid excuses like this. Rose, I travel a lot because of my firm and Pierce. How long are you going to keep staying stupid? He treats you like crap and beats you up at the slightest provocation.” “There are no stupid excuses. I signed a contract with him—” “Let me speak.” She held up her hand and dropped it and continued. “I care about you, Rose. I value you so much. You are like a sister to me. I hate seeing you get hurt.” Her left index finger touched my chest. “If this is the type of miserable life you want, count me out of it. I wouldn’t stand by and let my brother cheat on my best friend and treat her like an object.” She swallowed and looked me straight in the eye. “Give me a year, Rose.” She nodded. “I promise to present the divorce papers before you, and you are going to read them and sign the f*****g papers. Once that is done, you will leave him and go far away from here.” “Taila.” “Do you trust me?” With an instant reply. “Yes.”
