The sound of music filled Linnea’s ear. She slowly swayed her body to the music.
“Come on, dance!!! Don’t all about that asshole that doesn’t deserve you,” Linnea said, moving her hips, dancing to the sound of the music.
“I want to use the bathroom, Linnea. I don’t think this place is for me,” Linnea said. She couldn’t stand like a log and stare at everyone and that was why she slowly moved her body a little. She wasn’t enjoying any single moment in this place and she’d rather be home on her bed than be in this energy-draining party.
She straightened her dress and approached the bathroom. “Pttf, stupid party,” she scoffed, leaning her back on the wall.
After the party, she was going to be on her own because Elenor had a flight to catch and that scared her at the moment. “If Anthony gets home and sees the divorce papers, he’ll take them and leave the house for good” Different kinds of thoughts crossed her mind, but she chose to remain calm and get through with this party first.
She turned to leave the entrance of the bathroom when her body collided with a tall, muscular figure
“Damn! Can’t you at least watch where you are going” He said, feeling pissed because the drink in his hands spilled on their clothes
“What? I’m I seriously at fault here? If you were watching where you were going, then this wouldn’t have happened,” Linnea said, pointing at his face. She hated when people didn’t take responsibility for her actions. “You’re so sorry is so difficult for you to say, motherfucker,” she said and walked past him, leaving him standing with a smirk on his face.
After she was out of his sight, he took his phone out of his pocket and dialed his personal assistant’s number
“Mr. Kim, look into the lady that’ll come out of the bathroom door. She’s wearing a brown strapless dress,” He said and before waiting for a response, he ended the call.
He softly chuckled, he hadn’t met someone with such guts in his life and he wanted to know who she was to have spoken to him in such a manner
...
Linnea dragged Elenor out of the bar with a frown on her face. “I’m going home. I’m sick of this party, in fact! I’m sick of all men and I f*****g need a break”
“Woah, woah, woah, chill,” Elenor said. “Give me a minute, I was about to give my number to a rich and handsome dude right now, I’ll be right back” Linnea narrowed her eyes as Elenor left her behind, she walked towards where her car was packed and she leaned on it gulping the saliva in her mouth down her throat.
One thing she feared most in her life was divorce, and she didn’t know how to overcome this feeling. She didn’t want to grow with hate. Leaning on the car with her gaze on her fingers, she unconsciously played with them.
She heard noises of people chanting a familiar name, which she usually heard on TV, mostly on the news. “Enzo Brown!” They continued to chant and Linnea was so lost when she saw the face of the rude gentleman that poured his drink on her and couldn’t even say sorry.
“So that’s Enzo Brown, how could I have not known” she whispered
“You’ve met him before” Elenor asked, causing Linnea to roll her eyes
“Are we done here cause I want to be in bed?” She said.
“Lazy ass, I won’t be following you home. I’d take a cab from here to the airport, hold on, let me take my suitcase from the truck,” Elenor said. Linnea wasn’t even aware that Elenor’s suitcase had been in this car.
“Get in, let me drop you at the airport”
“You don’t...”
“Seriously? Just get in already, so did your Mr. Rich and Handsome already offer to drop you?” Linnea asked, arching an eyebrow.
“Well... Yeah, I’m sorry”
“It’s fine. I’ll book my flight when I get home. I’ll be there by the day after tomorrow for the party, okay?” Linnea said before slamming the door of her car. She waited a few minutes for Elenor to get her load out of her car boot before driving into the streets.
“Pttf... Well, yeah... I’m sorry” She tried mimicking her voice. Linnea face-slapped herself in anger and sighed softly.
She drove into her house and packed the car in the garage. She took off her shoes and walked into the house barefooted. As soon as she got to her room, she threw herself on the bed like a baby with no care of the world.
....
The Sunlight peeped into her room through the window, causing her to move her body on the bed reluctantly. Linnea grabbed a pillow from beside her and instantly used it to cover her eyes.
Beep beep
The beeping sound of her phone caught her attention. “Argh, who the f**k is that?” She growled. She grabbed her phone from the bedside and saw that she had two missed calls from Chairlady Susan and a text from Anthony.
“Oh my God, she must have found out about my divorce,” she thought and instantly sat up on the bed. She decided to read Anthony’s message first. “I’ve taken the papers, thanks for signing them, enjoy the rest of your life in bankruptcy,” she read
“You son of a b***h, mother f*****g wizard,” she cussed. Linnea dialed Chairlady Susan’s number and the old woman picked the phone up before the second ring.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Chairlady Susan yelled over the phone
“Tell you what?” She tried to play dumb because she hadn’t made peace with herself yet and hurt so much when the words divorce escaped her lips.
“You Child, I’m on my way to your house!” Chairlady Susan said and ended the call
“Damit” Linnea clutched her fingers together, forming a very tight fist. She brought her hands over to her hair and dragged her hair, trying to ease the pain in her heart by causing another pain in another part of her body.
