CHAPTER 4: APPROVAL

*Danbi’s POV*
He looked at me and shook his head.
“Let’s go home and we’ll talk” Hojun said. He sighed again, before driving me home.
(6 AM, at home)
I took a shower, and I my body feels sore, and I realized that I have another scratch and bruise on my face and back. Maybe from the fist fight with Hojun. AH... I want to sleep.
I opened the door to call Hojun.
“Hojun, to help me put an ointment on my back??” I asked him awkwardly.
“Eh?... Okay?” he answered. He came into my room and start putting an ointment on my back.
“You have a lot of bruises. I still can’t believe this. You look like an ordinary girl from outside, but a fighter inside” he chuckled.
“So, you mean I am strange? Not like an ordinary feminine girl?” I asked him sarcastically.
“No, you’re extraordinary” he said.
We stopped for a moment, an awkward silence. I can’t believe my ears.
“Ehm, it’s done Ms. Danbi” he said to break the silence.
“Hojun, can I ask you a favor?” Could you stop calling me Miss Danbi? Just Danbi. You're older than me, and I am your team now, we’re like a colleague right?” I asked him.
“I never said I agreed with you in the team” he answered me cynically.
“Ish… come on… I’ll practice more so I can be useful for the team” I asked.
“Anyway, did you practice here? All this time?” he asked.
“Nope, I’ll show you a secret, but you have to put me in your team” I begged with my puppy eyes.
“Pft. Whatever. You have to ask your father, Miss Danbi” he chuckled.
“Argh, alright, I asked him as soon as he wake up. And, JUST DANBI !!” I answered.
Hojun smiled and he walked out of my room. “Good night, Danbi”

(12 PM)
I visited my dad in the hospital with Hojun. Dad is still unconscious, he has so many needles and hose on his body. I looked at him in pity, I wish he’ll wake up as soon as possible.
“I’ll wait outside, Danbi” Hojun said to me.
“Alright” I replied.
“Dad, I don’t know if you can hear me. I just want to share a story about last night. Hojun finally knew my secret. I went to YURIHAN yesterday to catch the bad guy, and then we … … …” I share it all to dad. But dad is not waking up. I rubbed his hand and kissed it.
A nurse walked into the room, to change the infusion.
“Miss, is there any update about his condition?” I asked her.
“Ah, let the doctor explain. Do you want me to schedule a time to meet the doctor?” she asked me back.
“Yes please, the sooner the better” I replied.
The nurse nodded and left the room.
(at the doctor’s room)
“Doctor, why isn't my dad awake yet? is his condition serious?” I asked.
“Well Ms. Danbi, he got stabbed so many times. 4 times in the stomach, once in the leg, and twice in the back. His wounds were severe and he lost a lot of blood. For now, his body is so weak that it's hard to get up. But he is not in a coma. He will slowly start to wake up, even though his condition is still weak.” He explained.
“Ah… I see” I answered.
“Anyway, do you have another family? Someone visited him yesterday. But unfortunately, the visiting hour is over, so he went home” the doctor said.
“Eh? How does he look? Do you remember?” I asked him confusedly.
“He looked neat, black suit and tie. I thought he’s maybe your uncle or else. Just to make sure” he replied.
“No doc, I don’t have any family” I answered.
“Doc, I have a favor. Please let me assigned 2 bodyguards to guard him. Every day and night, inside and outside the room. Please doc. I think someone is after him” I said to the doctor.

I walked with Hojun, back to my dad’s room.
“Hojun, someone tried to enter dad’s room yesterday” I said to Hojun.
“What??!! How did you know? The doctor told you?” he asked.
“Yes. The doctor said he wore black suit and tie, and the doctor thought he was my uncle, it means he’s older, maybe around dad’s age?” I said while thinking.
“And it means, it’s not a one-man operation. They’re a team, a group, or something” he added.
“First, can you assign 2 bodyguards to guard my dad? Day and night? Stay with him?” I asked Hojun.
“Sure, I’ll organize it right away” he answered.
We’re back to dad’s room, Hojun and I waited for the assigned bodyguard to come, before we left. Suddenly my dad’s hand is moving a little.
“Dad? Dad!!” I shout in relief. Hojun called the doctor immediately to check dad’s condition.
Dad’s eyes opened a little bit, but he looks so weak.
The doctor and nurse checked, and they said that dad is regaining his consciousness little by little, I can talk to him, he can listen, but don’t expect any answers.
Thank God, at least he’s making a progress.
“Dad. I know I can’t expect any response from you. But I want to tell you something. Yesterday, I asked Hojun to add me into their team. I know you may not agree with this idea. But, believe me, these group of people who tried to destroy our company is not just a random people. So, I will practice real hard, I will be useful for the team. And we will catch the bad guys. So please get well soon dad. So you can punish them yourself” I said to dad, I held his hand tightly.
“I hope you can move your fingers if you agree. But I expect nothing, just get well soon” I added.
Suddenly, my dad’s finger moves a little bit. I gasped and I looked at him.
“Dad… is it the sign I asked for? Ahhh, thank you so much dad. I will do my best. I have a good feeling about this! Now please stay safe and have a speedy recovery” I kissed his forehead.
“Hojun, let’s go now! To Yurihan!” I said to hojun excitedly.
Hojun chuckled and he bowed to my dad,
“Thank you Chairman, I’ll do my best to protect her, and the company” he said, and he left the room with me.
