Piecing it Together
KAISER’S forehead was now crumpled; the calmness that was slowly seething in broke once more.
“What do you mean?” He asked, softly, almost in a breaking voice. Her heart hammered inside her chest. It was hard to see that the victory he thought he achieved in saving her in today’s doomsday got washed away. “Do you think there are other people who’d attempt to kill you?”
“Sera and Cloud were obviously after you. You are the one they loathe, Kaiser,” she started. “I know they were using me to hurt you. Seeing your girlfriend die would totally crush your heart, I know.”
