Sensing that something was off, Sara didn't know what to do until Vera stepped out and inquired.
“Did you see Nathan?... Mom sent him out to get you.”
Claudia replied. “I don't want to talk about it.”
After that, she stalked off into the bedroom to freshen up, with Vera heading back to her room, feeling just as overwhelmed as Claudia.
It didn't take long before Nathan returned to find Sara and Vera waiting for him with Claudia nowhere to be seen.
“She's fine.” Sara calmly remarked, aware that he was looking for her. “She isn't in the best state right now, you know.”
Nathan managed a melancholic smile as he replied. “She must not be feeling well considering the situation at the company, but it's fine; now that I'm here, everything will be alright.”
Hardly had he finished talking when Vera snorted derisively. “Talking so big with nothing to show for it. Instead of just being an empty vessel, it's better you just shut up. No one would know you were here if you did that.”
“Vera!” Sara scolded. “How can you even say that?”
“Mom, it's fine, don't shout at her,” Nathan remarked. “She has a point.”
Of course, instead of feeling grateful that Nathan stopped Sara from yelling at her, Vera glared at him.
“I don't need you now, just like I haven't needed you for the past five years, so stop trying to be relevant!”
Before Sara could say anything, Vera quickly left, leaving Nathan and Sara alone.
Sara sighed, unsure of what to even do about the current situation.
She spoke with Nathan for a bit before heading to the kitchen to clear up the dishes, while Nathan stepped out to make a phone call.
Even though Threads would be returned to Claudia by tomorrow, he had to make sure that those that had caused it to leave her hand in the first place would pay and be completely rooted out, else they'd always be a problem for Claudia.
This was why he'd gotten his men to investigate those who lied against Claudia, quickly discovering that the ring leader was a woman named Alicia Bond.
She was head of the Stylish Bond Brand, a fashion brand that was one of the top dogs in the city.
She was threatened by Claudia's steady rise and wanted to make sure that she wouldn't be able to reach her full potential; otherwise, it would cause her business to falter because, unlike Threads maintained quality and tried to be innovative, Stylish Bond had nothing, but it's a brand name to work with.
So she worked with Victor to deal a heavy blow to Claudia, ensuring that they were both winners.
Victor would get access to Claudia, while Alicia would be able to gain Threads, which she would then merge with her brand.
Tomorrow, there would be a meeting of the members of the Chamber of Commerce, and it was at this meeting that Alicia planned to acquire Threads from Victor.
However, now that Nathan knew who was targeting his wife, he sent a message across to the chairperson.
“I will be attending the meeting tomorrow, understand?”
“Yes sir, I'll make the arrangements.”

Nathan got up early the next morning to prepare breakfast, catching Sara off guard as she found him in the kitchen.
“Nathan, you shouldn't have,” Sara remarked, with Nathan replying.
“Yet I did. So instead of telling me that, how about you wake up Vera and Claudia for breakfast?” Nathan teased, with Sara shaking her head in amusement.
She knew he was only trying to help out around the house, so she didn't try to hound him for it.
It didn't take long for Vera and Claudia to appear in the dining room, with both women carrying complicated looks on their faces after learning that it was Nathan who had prepared breakfast.
Exchanging looks with one another, the ladies decided not to touch the food, with Vera returning to her room while Claudia addressed Sara.
“Mom, I'll be leaving now. I want to try and convince Miss Alicia to take back her accusations. If she can agree, I'd be able to get Threads back.”
“But you know she hates you.”
“I don't care. Without Threads, we would sooner end up on the street and I can't allow that to happen.”
“Then let me come with you.”
“That's not necessary.” Claudia calmly refused, but Sara wasn't satisfied as she suggested again.
“Fine then, take Nathan with you. At least that way I would be sure that you are safe.”
Claudia glanced at Nathan, looking him over briefly before remarking, “Don't worry, Mom, I've handled things alone for so long. What's one more thing?”

The Chamber of Commerce was divided into various sectors.
The sector Claudia was a part of was the one related to fashion and art, with several other company owners being a part.
However, Alicia was considered the most influential in the fashion sector, being capable of doing whatever she wanted with no one trying to intrude.
If she wanted to host a fashion show on a particular date, no other fashion company would dare to do so as they knew they would suffer dearly.
This was why she was feared by most, with Claudia perhaps being the only one that managed to go against her, though most felt she was now suffering for it.
In any case, with a meeting being held today, Alicia decided to use it as a platform to announce her takeover of Threads, which would surely establish her as a woman that shouldn't be crossed.
Hopeful that Alicia would pity her, Claudia attended the meeting as well.
Approaching the guard at the door, she intoned, “I'm here to speak with Alicia Bond. Let her know that Claudia is the one looking for her.”
The guard, whose name was Bernard, was head of security for the chamber and was a well known womanizer.
He'd always had his eyes on Claudia, considering she was an extremely attractive woman with appealing features, but because of her status, he couldn't do anything.
