Chapter 7: Brave Woman

291 Words
The next day, we started accepting people who wanted to see Dad. My grandparents were there as well. People close to our hearts and our family dropped by and gave their condolences. I lost count on how many actually came but it was mostly people from our company and Dad’s business associates. It only shows how much people respected him and looked up for him. I just wished he knew how much lives he has touched. I went to the garden and sat at the wooden chairs. I kept on thinking about the last time that I saw him. It was three months ago during Christmas and God knows how many times I wished to come back to that time. If only I have known that it was gonna be our last time to be together then I would have hugged him so tight and told him how much I love him. I would have told him as well of how proud I am that he is my father and how thankful I am for everything that he gave me. He’s not a perfect father but he definitely is the best for me and I couldn’t wish for anyone other than him. I sighed as I watched people inside the house. These people admired Dad because he was a very kind man. There was no doubt about that. I remember Dad being so alive and optimistic but now he’s gone… forever. I shut my eyes tightly and wished that my tears would stop falling. I cried and let all my frustrations out. Until someone from the dark part spoke. “You’re a brave woman.” He said. I couldn’t see him properly. He was at the darker part of the garden.
