Chapter 6: Biggest Life Crisis

246 Words
The police came that day. Dad was still on the morgue and he will be brought home later today. Based on their investigation, Dad was hit by a truck that was running fast and the driver lost control since the brakes weren’t working. The truck’s driver was brought to the precinct earlier. He surrendered himself after he tried to escape. We were mad at the driver; because of his carelessness, innocent people like Dad had to suffer the consequence. We asked our lawyer to make sure that he will rot in jail and that there’s no way he’ll be free from the charges against him. Dad’s remains was brought that night. We decided to lay him in the house other than in some funeral chapels. When Dad’s coffin arrived, we cried again and again. It was like the real proof that he is gone and won’t come back to us. It was so painful that Mom fainted when he saw Dad inside the coffin. We let that time just for ourselves and Dad peacefully. I could say that this is by far the biggest life crisis we have ever faced. With Dad gone, who would be our family’s strength? I know the business will do good with Aki handling it but what about our home? Dad has always been the one who unites us. He does everything to make sure that everyone gets to spend more time with each other rather than being out with friends.
