Chapter 5: All Tears

I stood up when I heard the call for passengers on my flight. Aki made sure that I get to the next plane back home. He sent me the details right after I reached the airport and I waited for my flight. I still don’t know what really happened to Dad and I could not ask anyone about it right now.

I sat in the chair assigned to me and leaned my head on the window. How did this happen? How could Dad leave us like this? I still cannot believe this is happening. I took my phone and opened my gallery. I looked at all our family photos and I could not help myself. Fresh tears came out of my eyes again and I couldn’t seem to have control of it. I took out some tissues and wiped my tears away.

The ride home was totally painful. I couldn’t wait to get home and be with my loved ones. I immediately stood up when it was announced that we could get out of the plane. I need to know what really happened to my Dad.

I was picked up by our driver from the airport and straight home. I was silent. I don’t know what to tell my family when I reached home. Will I tell them that it’s going to be okay? Because I am sure that it won’t. Our lives would never be the same again, not without Dad.

The driver parked the car and I immediately went out. I saw Mom and Aki on the receiving area and they both cried when they saw me. I ran towards them and hugged them. We all cried in that very moment.
