I took my sling bag and pulled my luggage out of my room when I was done taking what I needed. I saw Mom and Aki at the receiving area and was waiting for me to get down.
“Is this all?” Aki said as he took the luggage off me.
“Yeah, I didn’t bring a lot of stuff with me when I went home,” I said.
“I’ll drive you to the airport.” He said. “Mom, will you be joining us?”
“Oh, I would love to but I still have to go and see an old friend, who is also your Dad’s friend as well. She just went home from abroad and didn’t have the chance to attend your dad’s wake so she wanted to see me. I didn’t know that you’ll be leaving today so we set our meeting for today. Is it okay if I can’t join you? I mean, I can cancel our appointment for you, if you want.” Mom said.
