Episode 3
We got down to the court, and of course, they are all over the gate.
I asked Joshua again to do the same thing he did when we were on the court: to find a medium sized rock and throw it away from the gate.
---
While walking out of the gate...
Rio: Where are we going now?
Patricia: Idk. Perhaps somewhere near where we can get supplies?
While we were walking, our gaze focused on the road...
Robeen: Holy—this is mad.
There were crashed cars, bikes, motorcycles everywhere.
And dead people.
Something we should start getting used to seeing.
How come we didn't notice this while we were inside the school?
Rio: What are we gonna use?
Ayen: do you have the key to the car? -_-
Rio: Nope
Jenina: Do you have the key to the motorcycles? -_-
Catherine: Are you just playing dumb or what? -_-
Rio: Uhh, No He shrugged
Robeen; The bicycles, loser -_-
Rio: Oooohh, Right ^w^
Margareth: You heard her, let's go find ourselves some bikes
After a while, we got a bike for ourselves.
Patricia: Now we have a bike, where do we go?
Margareth: We'll go someone’s house who you think it's safe
But while we're talking, raindrops suddenly started pouring.
Christian: I don't know what you guys are really planning but we need to go to someone's house that's NEAR
Hersche: Yeah, I think Joshua's house is the nearest.
Ayen: I'm not sure but I think it's not safe.
Robeen: I think so, too.
Eliza: Then, where are we going?
Robeen: I was thinking on going to the small department store near the wet market though.
Joshua: But do you think it's safe?
Robeen: Again, no but we need to get there 'cause we need food, clothes and maybe bigger, I don’t know, weapons.
Blooming: Sounds weird but okay.
Mark Vincent: but it's far... I think.
Robeen: Not that far-- f**k it. You know what, if you want to go then go, not stoppin' ya. All I know is y'all gon’ be disappointed of yourselves.
I smiled at them, got on my bike then rode. They all followed.
Of course.
---
Along the way, we saw some people, mostly young people, raiding the markets.
Arriving in front of the department store, there were 3 of them. Just casually walking around.
I looked at the boys.
Robeen: Your turn.
Allaiza advised us to put our bikes down.
I told Margareth to help the others. She was hesitant but still did so.
I handed my knife to Joshua.
Robeen: Just ram it in, man.
One is approaching both of us. I nod at him.
He was able to stab it on the side of its head, causing it to almost grab him but I shoved him out of the way. He was able to attain back then stabbed it on the back of the head when it wasn’t facing us.
The raining ceases.
We turned back to Margareth and Ian. Rio was also breathing heavily with a dead one near him.
---
The boys are currently working together to break the lock of the front door which is a glass door with chains.
Margareth: Only 6.
Robeen: Wait, how many are we again?
She looked at me at like she was 99.9% done.
Margareth: the boys are supposed to be 8.
I took note of what she said then named each of the boys present..
Robeen; Where the hell is Steven... and Blooming?!
Catherine: They were here a moment ago
Surprisingly, Steven and Blooming showed up
Robeen: where the hell did you two went?!
Patricia: Robeen thought you two were dead
Blooming: Calm down, Mom.
Robeen: Mind telling me where have you been?
Steven: Chill out, man. We saw an axe behind the store.
Allaiza: why didn’t you take it?!
Blooming: Zombies, there's like 2 of them
Patricia: There’s like 2 of you too.
Robeen: that's why you have a knife -_-
Both of them looked each other.
Robeen: All of you, stay here, I'll be back
Patricia: And there’s 1 of her. Unbelievable.
The boys are still working together on what they’ll do with the lock.
---
Pollyanna: where is she going?
Blooming: at the back, to get the axe
Eliza: You think she'll be back
Chryzalyn; Of course she will
Hersche: After all, she said she'll be back
---
Blooming said there are 2.
Yeah, there are really 2 of them,
And they’re children. Much younger than us.
These poor creatures.
I did my best not to make any sound while approaching them.
I'm kinda trembling in fear though.
I neared the girl. She’s wearing that looks like it used to be bright yellow but is now covered with the blood from the deep bite on her neck and face.
I took out my knife and stabbed her in the head.
She was able to grasp on the skirt of my school uniform but loosened not too long after.
Now, the other one looks not too old from the girl. A boy in a much worse condition, he can barely walk at this point.
I took the axe. It was sort of heavy for me.
But I tried to use it.
I swung the axe as much as I can onto its neck. I actually thought I can cut through all the way but it wasn’t easy.
I pull back the axe, now it’s trying to get to me.
I swung the axe again, successfully impaling it. And making my blood splattered uniform more dirty.
Filthy. I’m filthy.
I looked around. There was a door. I checked if it was unlocked. Well, it was locked.
---
Ian: That was fast.
Jenina: Did you—you know, them back there?
Robeen: Yeah, I did.
Patricia: All of them?
Robeen: Yeah
Christian: Impossible.
Robeen: Yeah, I think so too but they were children.
I looked back to where I came from when I said that.
---
I gave the axe to the boys.
They just looked at me.
Robeen: What? Maybe you can use that.
Ian: hey there’s a window on the side
He said pointing to where a hopper window is located.
Mark Vincent: It looks like it’s not locked.
Ayen: That’s actually reachable.
Patricia: Yeah, if you can jump that high.
Catherine: You need to step on something to reach it.
Eliza: or someone…
We all looked at Joshua.
Joshua: No.
Robeen: I guess we just all die here, then.
---
We had successfully convinced Ayen to be the first one to enter, considering the fact that she’s the lightest and thin figure that’ll definitely fit through. She was hesitant since she believes that some of them are inside but by the looks of it, the place is closed. And her only source of light is the light from outside through the glass windows.
I told her about the door on the back.
Ayen stepped onto Joshua’s shoulder. He carefully stood up for Ayen to reach the frame of the window while some of us stand for support and some are waiting at the back of the store.
Robeen: Don’t look up or you’re dead.
Ayen has successfully made it inside. She was able to step onto a shelf near the window.
She signaled us that she’ll be going for the back door. Then she disappeared to where light couldn’t reach.
---
She sure is taking a while.
Joshua: What if something got her?
Catherine: Don’t be like that.
Margareth: Maybe she got lost. It’s dark inside.
Rio checked on us for a bit, confusion evident on his features mouthing a “Where is she?”
We shrugged. We don’t know either.
---
After a while, Rio started signaling us to come over.
We got there as fast as we can.
Christian was by the door, holding the knob, waiting for Ayen to open.
But he started leaning his ear to the door.
After a few seconds, he looked at us… with a horrified expression.
Christian: She said something’s there with her.
Ayen started banging loudly on the door.
Ayen: Get back!
Then the door opened.
A zombie wearing a staff uniform came out.
Some of us screamed due to fear and shock.
Cedrick started frantically pointing to the front of the store.
Cedrick: They’re coming! They’re coming, man!
Whenever the zombie faces someone, they scream.
Everyone is freaking out.
Then it faced me.
I held my knife. Readying myself.
