Chapter # 8

Aurelia was in the office, working on the files, engrossed in it entirely as this was going to be a long and tiresome night. Docking their paperwork, dealing with the higher ups and everything else was tiresome. “Ma’am. Alphonse’s lawyer, Cinder Morgans, had arrived.” Gabriel came, informing her about it. Frowning, she sighed deeply, holding her forehead to think she had to deal with it as well and she was not in the mood for any of it. She tried to look for Elliot to tell him and manage this woman but to no avail. “Argh, let her in.” She muttered, throwing her file on the table. An American lady came, fuming at Aurelia after knowing what she had done to Alphonse. “What have you done to my client?” She asked in her high, seductive voice, demanding an answer, folding her arms at her chest. “I humbly taught your violent man some manners, Miss Morgans.” She shrugged, pretending to be innocent and place all the blame on him. “He tried to assault me, he was growing wild so it was necessary to teach him some manners.” She mumbled, averting her gaze to avoid unnecessary dispute. “Tsk.” She scoffed, rolling her eyes off knowing it’s futile to agree with a cop. “And besides.” Pausing, a devilish smirk appeared on her lips, resting her elbow on the table, she moved forward, “What are you going to do about it? We caught them in the act.” She said, licking her lips. Feeling victorious to know there are no chances of his release unless some sell out corrupted leaders say so. “I barely doubt anything could save him now.” She hummed, indulging at the silence received. Even if for a second it was pleasurable to find him behind the bars. “But, I won’t stay quiet. I will prove him innocent-” Cinder was about to argue to assert her position, being the most capable lawyer but Aurelia cut her off. “Did you get his bail?” And their talk ended before it could even start. “Hmm? Couldn’t? That’s too bad.” She laughed mockingly. Elated at the fact that the top lawyer is speechless before her at the moment. Rising from her seat, she stared dead into her eyes, the smile leaving her lips, replaced by a hiss, “Now, come here next time when you will have proper files, Madam.” Snarling, she stomped her feet on the ground and left her alone. After she left Elliot entered with deriding laughter, holding honor in his beloved. “Ah, Look at my Queen.” He smirked, walking to her, tugging her hair behind her ears, staring intently into her rare snowy eyes. “Thank you, Elliot. If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t gain the strength to do this.” She whispered, kissing his hands as they stared deeply in each other’s eyes. He suggested that Alphonse is searching for her crazily and she should take advantage of this fact. “Let me be honest, I didn’t want you to do this.” He breathed out, expressing his worry for the fatality this mission brought along. “But you held faith in me and I was capable of doing this.” She whispered, giving his hands an assuring squeeze. “Hmm..” He hummed, taking a pause before asking what he dreaded to happen. “Baby… Did he.. touch you?” He asked hesitantly, narrowing his eyes in declination. “Do you think I would?” She asked, curling her lips from one side, raising one eyebrow perfectly. “I think he would.” He sighed, vexed to think what could possibly happen. “He was head over heels for me, I had to shred two fake tears and he melted entirely.” She shrugged, going back to her seat. He sighed in relief, leaning on the table, hand resting on his chest with a smile. “Good work. I am so proud of you.” He chuckled, kissing her knuckles. “Me too. I think I have completed an achievement.” She whispered, holding felicity for her life with him, a smile growing wider. “You surely did.” He nodded as they got lost in each other, drowning in each other’s presence. “He is finally in our grasp.” He said, holding her hands tightly. “And it's all thanks to you.” He whispered, grinning widely to fathom they finally had Alphonse behind the bar. Now it’s time to see how many people are going to help him to see how many immoralities are present among them. “Let’s just hope we finally end this ordeal.” She breathed out, tensed to think what could Alphonse possibly do for vengeance. Nodding, they remained like this, “Yeah.” On the other hand, Cinder got some time to talk to Alphonse before leaving. Entering she saw him sitting with his head hanging low. “Sir…?” She asked, tensed by the lack of light and heavy presence. Fingers joined together along with a bandage wrapped around his arm with a dominant aura, fuming with rage. “Get me out of here quickly, Cinder.” He growled, speaking after a prolonged silence. “I am trying, Sir but it no longer seems possible. You were caught red-handed.” She whispered, taking a seat as well. Strain was all over her face to see his rage, unable to cope with it. “I know but there has to be a way.” He breathed out, trying to maintain his cool. Looking down, she replied in the same tone to bring him to the harsh reality, “He is infuriated at you.” His heart clenched to perceive his outcome but he was prepared for it. “It’s not my fault that she deceived me.” He muttered, jaw clenching in wrath. “It’s your fault for being blinded in attraction.” She whispered, maintaining a fair distance from him. “Is he going to get me out?” He growled, glaring at her which hitched her breath. “You are his most important asset, he has to- no matter how unfavorable it sounds.” She replied hurriedly, putting her hand in the air hoping it might lessen his rage. “What about Nathaniel? It’s easy for him” He asked with an arched brow as he had great connections with him. “Nathaniel is the King of the underworld and he resents him.” She said. Recalling how ‘He’ refused to work for Nathaniel and began to work all alone in France. “I don’t know what his deal is with Nathaniel.” Alphonse muttered, grimace affixed on his hardened features. “Simple. Envy. And if you ask Nathaniel’s help personally, this would enhance his rage.” She shrugged, leaving Alphonse with no choice but to turn to him. And he detest how he had to ask for his help and bear his taunts later, increasing his desire to make Aurelia pay for what she did. “So, I had no choice then?” He asked, making a sour face only by thinking. “Yes.” She nodded slowly, earning a scoff from him. “Fine. Ask him to get me released at all costs.” He ordered her, turning his head away, running his hand in his hair, cursing under his breath. “It’s not the first time you were arrested. Why are you eager anyway?” Cinder asked, she cannot comprehend what caused him to lose his forbearance. “Why now?” She asked but a fiery fire burned in his eyes. Indicating he has lost his last ounce of emotions, replacing it with ultimate seethe as he snarled, making a tight fist. “Because I want to teach that woman a lesson.”
