Chapter # 9

Elliot took Aurelia out on a drive which was unfavorable on her side and, moreover, he did not even tell her where they were going, increasing her anticipation. “Where are we going, Elliot? You know we have a lot of work to do.” She asked, looking out the window, trying to comprehend the way. “Shh. Just come along.” He winked, putting his hand over her as they drove peacefully. “I can’t believe you are my senior. The Major.” She sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose, shaking her head. “Why?” He asked with an arched brow, not knowing what wrong he did. “I am so devoted to my work, I want to see Alphonse behind bars, mock him, shatter his feelings but no.” She puffed. His eyes went wide in disbelief to hear her wicked thoughts and the pout forming over her face along with a strange expression. “You have taken me from my pleasure.” She hissed, pulling her hand away from him and curling them in a fist. A vile smile not leaving her lips, thrill forming goosebumps over her skin And before she converts into a cruel witch, Elliot pinched her cheek, frowning at her demeanor. “Darling, is he more important than me?” He asked teasingly, chuckling at her actions but she could herself in his presence. Relax, childish, who she is. “That is not what I mean. I am simply infuriated. I want to see him burn, to know that he has lost me.” She enunciated, hands in the air to declare this matter done. “Don’t talk about losing.” He sighed, going along with her now to think what trouble they went through. “We have to go through all the trouble of changing your name so that beast won’t cast his evil on my angel.” He laughed feebly. They knew how crazily he was looking for her and they had to make so many efforts to change her identity to conceal her from his hunt. “Nothing could take me away from you.” He breathed out in joy of having her in his arms from now on. Intertwining their fingers together, he kissed the back of her palm, mesmerized by the moment. “I know. I won’t let anyone too.” She hummed, giving his hand a tight squeeze to never let it go, drowning in the power of the moment. “But, thankfully we devised the plan but it was so hard to deliver him the information.” He breathed out, chuckling to himself. The trouble they went through to put him behind bars. “Although I am strict against sending you to his mansion.” He added sternly, vexed to think what could possibly happen at their place. “Oh, don’t talk about his Mansion, it was so majestic. I had a blast at his place. I felt like I was a princess living in a castle.” She breathed out, hands on her chest. Her mouth gaped to perceive how elegant that place was, how all the deluxe was placed before her as if it meant nothing. “In a few days, he gave me everything; branded clothes, shoes and the latest phone!” She beamed, telling about her free recreation. And indulged in the time she gained to the core, loving the time there, enjoying all the privileges she gained. “So you prefer his place?” He mocked, narrowing his eyes in disliking to hear her praising it. “Do you want me to hit you?” She asked in a hiss, turning her head to him. “Are you going to raise your hands against your future husband and senior?” He faked a gasp of astonishment blended with sorrow in a pretense. “If you keep ruining my mood.” She added, a grimace lingering on her face by his dramatic reaction. They both looked at each other for a few seconds before cracking in a laugh, shaking their heads and continuing the drive. “Okay, okay. But, I am glad you had fun.” He chuckled, shaking his head to regain his posture. “A lot. It was the easiest mission of my life.” She nodded, leaning back on the seat. But then she remembered something she was waiting to tell. “Elliot, do you remember that dress we both laughed about that it’s higher than our salary?” She asked, straightening her back again, shifting her upper body to his side. “That black mermaid dress on which we laughed about, like what so great about it?” He asked, trying to recall it. No matter how handsome their salary is, wasting money on something which is not worth it is a straight no. “Yes! He gave it to me and I was so shocked!” She beamed, almost shouting. “But, I wore it instantly and even sent you the picture, you saw it?” She asked, knowing he cannot reply and deleted the conversation also. But she wanted to hear his reaction about that expensive dress. “Yeah, I saw the pictures you sent. You looked absolutely gorgeous.” He said in admiration, a grin not leaving his lips. “But lady, that dress is still not worth that much.” He argued. “I agree. He just had too much money to spend.” She breathed out. “But it’s time to come out with your fairytales, Ma’am.” He chuckled, poking her arm, knowing she loves it. Giggling, she looked away sheepishly. “You have to live with this man so come out of your two weeks luxury trial.” He winked, knowing his post was no joke either but definitely not as much as his. “Yes, Sir.” She saluted as they continued the drive. “And besides, you are the Major, of course your worth is much more.” She whispered sincerely, taking his free hand and kissing it with pure emotions. “Hmm.” His smile grew wider as they continued but still didn’t reach their destination and she barely held her blithe. “Make it quick. I want to go back and kiss you in front of him to burn his soul.” She grinned evillingly, coming back to the point where they started. “God, you are a witch. Let it go, woman.” He scolded her, worried about her words at this point. “Okay, okay, I'm just kidding.” She sighed, returning him a grin and looked out again. “So, where are we going?” She asked happily. “I am still impotent to answer, Madam.” He winked. “Come on…” She whined, his surprise was killing her curiosity to know instantly what he was planning. “Here we are, Baby.” He grinned as they reached a beautiful resort, she arched a brow in confusion as he led her inside. “Finally.” She breathed out, scanning the area, a smile of felicity not leaving her lips, looking around the place, getting lost in the charm of it. “It’s beautiful.” She whispered when the staff led them to a table reserved away from others, just two of them in the drowning evening. Blushing at the enthralling set up, she turned and saw Elliot standing too close to her, staring deeply into her eyes. “Elliot?” She called, tugging her hairs, shyly by the whole scene, overflowing her heart with content. “Aurelia, I know Alphonse was the first friend and unfortunately, first love of your life but remember the time you realized you could no longer save him?” He asked in a low, husky tone. His hand wrapped around her waist slowly, chaining his eyes with hers. “Yeah.. what about it?” She asked nervously, pressing her palm on his chest. “That time when you cried on my shoulder, realizing he is beyond saving; the moment when I fell for you?” He asked, voice going lower, deeper, softer to blind her in his spell. “How can I forget it? You are the most beautiful thing that has happened to me.” She whispered, pressing her palm on his chest. “It’s been seven years yet I remember it clearly, it took me years to confess, but I know it’s been a year in our relationship and we have shifted too quickly with things.” Pressing their lower bodies together, his eyes were glued to hers, smiling softly, caressing her face gently, speaking his words from the bottom of his heart. “What.. are you trying to say, Elliot?” She asked, tilting her head in confusion, averting her gaze shyly. “I am trying to say that every moment of your life seems perfect and beautiful with the right person. That when you meet your ‘the one’, nothing else matters before it.” He whispered temptingly in her ears. Parting his hands from her, taking a step back, bending on one knee, taking out a ring and offering it to her. “You are my ‘the one’, Aurelia, I want to spend the rest of my life with you, love you with all my heart and not let any tears reach your eyes, fight injustice with you.” She gasped, taking a step back, tears brimming in her eyes, covering her mouth, she cannot believe this moment is finally here. “Will you accompany me forever? Will you be my wife?” He proposed to her with a growing smile. Shouting, jumping in content, she jumped into his arms, “Oh My God, Yes! Yes! I will be! I am so happy!” She laughed, a tear rolled down her cheek. Refusing to leave his embrace and living with him from this moment onwards. “Me too.” He laughed, hands wrapped around her body, loving the sensation of it. “I love you so much, Elliot.” She whispered, looking at him with her teary gaze, chuckling to herself. Humming, he cupped her cheeks before placing his lips upon her, sealing their love and evening with the sinking sun. “Me too, Aurelia.”
