Waking up, Casey found Andrew and Alexander eating, they looked like father and son. She loved how taking care of her son came natural to him, she didn't feel like she had to be the bridge to get them to bond, in fact if she didn't know Alexander's intentions, she would have been worried because he bonded with her son even when she was in a coma. "Good morning my sweet angel," she said showering baby Andrew with kisses all over his face, knowing that always gains her giggles. He giggled hugging her even tighter, after a few more kisses, she set him down and sat next to Alexander, "...good morning." "So I'm the only one who doesn't get kisses this morning," he said pulling her gently to come and stand between his legs, he kissed her and Andrew giggled seeing them, "...well looks like the boy approves." "Andrew is always giggling, that doesn't count," she teased him, pretending to not be impressed by his kissing, knowing he will take it upon himself to kiss her senseless as he always does and he did, she had forgotten what time it was, where she was, or who was watching them. It was just her and Xander sharing themselves with each other in a way that was new to both of them.
Reality broke them off when he heard her stomach rumble, he helped her into her seat and got her breakfast and set it in front of her, he was going back into a dark place, he couldn't allow the beast to hurt Casey like he did all the other women in the past. He was seeing the signs, he couldn't let her neglect herself, Andrew needed more than just him, Andrew needed his mother too. He needed another appointment with Dr Evans, he needed to voice out his worries, in all honesty, he just needed someone to tell him he was still in control and not the beast because he was not sure anymore. She noticed his mood change and was worried if she did anything wrong. This man could be happy one minute and sad the next, he never really got angry, the only time she ever heard him raise his voice was when he was fighting with his sister about her. She knew it was not normal for him to behave like he did, but when it came to Alexander, normal was a grey area everywhere. All she knew for sure was that he liked her, at this point it looked genuine. His mood this morning was worse than usual, she was even too afraid to ask, she even lost her appetite and got up to leave when he grabbed her by the arm, "Eat..." he said in a commanding tone and saw her discomfort, "...please eat." "I lost my appetite, I'm going to take a shower," she said pulling her arm back, but he refused to let her go. "Please eat Casey, just now your stomach was growling and you barely touched your food," he said and she saw his genuine concern and she took a piece of toast and put it in her mouth and gave him a fake smile, showing him she isn't happy with him, "...I'm sorry I'm not really easy to be with, I am trying I promise. I will be better." "I don't need you to be better Xander, I need you to trust me enough to talk to me, I need you to see me as an equal, not only in bed," she took the plate and went to the room to finish her breakfast, truth is she was hungry, she was just annoyed by him. Was this what his sister was trying to protect her from or was there more.
After getting Andrew to take his nap, Alexander went to the room. He couldn't stand knowing Casey was mad at her and he didn't know what he did. He thought this was still about Cara, he couldn't understand how they got back there, he thought they had already addressed the issue. He found her in the room looking out the window and he went to put his arms around her, he couldn't stand how distant she seemed, it hurt him to see her like this. "Is this still about Cara, I thought we discussed this already," he said so clueless and she got out of his embrace because his touch melted her anger away and she needed to be angry when she demanded the whole truth. "Cara, your sister, right?" she spat those words with so much venom in each syllable, "...thank her for me, at least she sees no woman can stand your mood swings, quite frankly they are giving me whiplash, I don't think I can do this." "No, no, no!" he said getting angry and for the first time she felt scared of him, he was unpredictable, "...Casey, you can't give up on me, on us. I promise I will do better, the only human contact I had for the thee last four years was with my patients, I'm trying, I can't lose you." "Alexander..." she saw the pain in his eyes as he begged her, this guy not just playing games with her, he just didn't know how to be with a woman, it's almost as if she was his first serious relationship.
