Every girl looks forward to her birthday. Especially, when she is turning 17. The last year before she becomes a adult, the last year she will be able to be a kid, but mainly the last year before she will be of age to find her mate. My whole life I have heard the stories of how great it is to find your mate. So, knowing at your 17th Birthday you have found your mate puts your mind at ease. That is until you find the jerk forcing himself on another female just a few weeks before. An then on your birthday, your pack is attacked and your parents killed. Now, roaming the United states with your grandparents trying to find where home is. Never would you suspect to find your 2 best childhood friends going to your new school and part of one of the packs in town. Having the Twins brings all kinds of emotions stirring up that normally are stuffed under everything I am. Not to mention what these hot N.A.I.L's are bringing to the surface of who I am now. Teenage years are crazy normally for anyone. Add in being a Alpha female who seems to be experiencing things that no wolf has ever before. Yeah, this Birthday should be fun. I just hope not to add a Mate to all this hot mess I am.

The Meeting.
Looking out my window watching the world around pass by, I try to regain my focus.  There is no time for worrying, it does nothing but make you lose sight of what is important.  And right now, that is making sure that I do not screw this up.  Turning to see the back of my grandparent’s heads in the row front of me, memories come flooding through.  All the times throughout my whole life that Grams had me in the kitchen teaching me not just the ins and outs of preparing a meal for our family, but life lessons right along with it.  And the times that when I would get hurt playing with the boys and coming running to hide before my tears fall and Gramps knowing what was going on before I could even open my mouth.  He would tug me into his arms and just let me fall to pieces in my dramatic 8-year-old way.  All the holidays of my parents and them gushing over me in everything I ever did or wanted to do.  Yeah, I had it so good and yes, I will be the first to tell you I was spoiled, then.  Now well now everything is different.  I still have my loving grandparents, more than ever they still love and cherish me every day.  But my roll has changed.  I am not just a daughter or granddaughteranymore.  I am not just a 17-year-old teenager driving my mom crazy with my loud music or having sleep overs with my bestie and staying up way too late.  No, I will never have that again.  That is all gone, all but Grams and Gramps.   When I look back out my window, I realize we are pulling off the road on to a gravel drive.  My stomach drops.  This is it.  No turning back, I must make this work for all our sakes.  I am the reason we are here, and I need to be the one to make this turn out good for all of us.  When the car stops, I look to see that this place was chosen for good reason.  When you ask for a meeting with two very important men and not only put them both in the same area but, also make it to where they are alone with just us.  Well, that would make anyone cautious.  Opening my car door,I think to myself that I am happy for what I chose to wear.  Old but nice looking dark skinny jeans, white tank top with Cami over.  Casual dress but, comfortable is always the way to go in this time of situation.  One never knew what would happen.   Gramps heads over toward us as I help Grams out of the front seat.  Even though, they are older they only look in their forties.  Grams takes my hand when I reach but the look on her face tells me that she is going to get me later for making her feel like she is old.  All three of us walk toward the two men in the middle of the field.  Both have the same built and swagger but, you can see that the difference.  One is just a hair taller and leaner.  While the other has more muscle in his shoulders.  Neither one would get too close to the other or take their eye off the other all the while watching every step that we take.   Once we are in front of the men, I realize that I no idea on how to I should start this.  Luckily, Gramps saves me.  “Hello gentlemen.  Thank you for taking the time to meet with us.” He starts.  “I understand that this is not normally how one would request a meeting but, hopefully once you hear us out then you will forgive us for it.” The taller one steps forward with his eyes focused on Gramps, but I can feel the power radiating off him.  “I was told that this meeting was with the Alpha.  The one and only Alpha of the Yates pack.”  He spoke, “But, I was really confused.  Due to that Alpha was killed and the pack broke apart.”  With that statement he then looks at Grams and me.  “I can smell that you all three are of that pack.  I knew the Alpha, Damian.  We were not close but, we had dealings together.  I was shocked to hear of his passing.” “It is true that our Alpha has passed, and our pack did break.  There were situations that happen that we have not gave information to anyone about.” Gramps said.  You could tell that gramps was hurting.  His voice did not give him away, his shoulders did.  The way he shook in just a second, I saw everything.  This was not his place to do this.  He gave up the roll of Alpha, this was mine and mine alone.  Stepping past Gramps toward the men, I heard Grams sharp intake.  Not showing that I did or giving a chance to look back at her for fear I would not be able to do this.  Not because I feared these men, not because they could try to kill me in a second.  No, this will be the first time that I have spoken to anyone other than my Grandparents about my Alpha.   “Our Alpha was murdered along with his mate.  He was misledby a close friend of his and was slaughtered.” Taking a deep breath to calm myself before the tears would fall.  “Our pack did not feel that the Alpha’s daughter would be able to protect them.  She was so young and not of age to be mated, they felt they would be better off elsewhere.” Gramps finished for me.   The second Alpha finally spoke up, “Where is this daughter now?” Gramps hand came to rest on my shoulder, I look back to him and he nodded his approval.  “You are looking at her.” I answered.  The man’s expression did not change at all.  The first Alpha spoke up, “What is it you are wanting from us, why are you here?”  “Yes, I am the true Alpha to the Yates pack,” I reply.  Then it happens, Alpha number two mask breaks completely.
