The Party

We get to the store and sit there for a second. “Okay we need to make a list before walking in.” I say and she nods. “Okay we need plastic cups, chips, ice, something to keep the beer and ice in, and paper plates.” I say and she rights it down.

We walk inside and go for the aisle with the paper plates and cups. I get too focused on looking for the cups that I run into someone. I never wanted to have to see him again and I was kind of hoping he moved away. Chance is standing there looking at me up and down. I can tell he doesn’t recognize me and I’d like to keep it that way. I mumble an apology and try to walk away. He grabs my arm and looks at me. “You look familiar have we met before?” He asks smirking.

“No now let go of my arm or I’ll remove your hand from my arm myself.” I say in a bored tone. “Are you sure I don’t know you?” He asks and now I know he knows who I am. “Chance stop f*****g with me and let me go.” I say angrily and he smirks but doesn’t let go.

“It’s good to see you again Rae.” He says and I roll my eyes. “I wish I could say the same but it’s actually the complete opposite.” I say and he rolls his eyes. “I suggest you let go now or do I need to remove your hand?” I ask and he smirks. “Your weak ass couldn’t remove my hand even if you used both arms.” He says a little too confidently. I roll my eyes and grip onto his wrist and pull his hand off. He looks shocked but I just ignore him and grab five bags of the cups and walk out of the aisle.

I find Grace in the chips aisle looking frustrated. “Damn did the chips offend you that bad?” I ask sarcastically and she rolls her eyes. “I can’t decide what chips to get.” She says and I shrug. I start grabbing a bunch of random chips and throwing them in the grocery cart.

“What the f**k you can’t just randomly grab chips!” Grace says panicked and I roll my eyes. “Yes I can and they probably won’t pay attention to the chips too much unless they get the munchies.” I say and she agrees.

“Okay I’ll go get the ice you look for coolers to put the beer and ice in.” I say and we part ways. I find ice and grab five bags of it. Grace is walking to me trying to carry all three coolers and it makes me laugh. After we get everything we need we check out and see Chance outside. He’s staring at me and it’s getting annoying. I flip him off as we’re loading everything in the back of Graces Jeep and he walks away.

We get back to the house and I put the ice in the freezer for until tomorrow. The whole school was invited and most of them are coming. I was surprised when I found out that even the ones that hate me are coming but I’m pretty sure it’s for the alcohol and most of them have a crush on Lucas and he’s already said he’s coming.

I sit around until seven because the party starts at eight so I need to move everything around. Kell helps me move the couches back and move the coffee table out of the room and down to the basement. I bring out two huge speakers and hook them to the tv.

We clean the house and set the cups out and put everything where it needs to go. People are showing up sooner than expected but we finished everything just in time.

I put the music on at full blast and keep the gate to the house open. I take Paco and Rouge upstairs and put them in my room and lock my door. I quickly put on my black body con dress with a slit to just below my left hip. It doesn’t show too much or too little. I put on a pair of black slip on vans and shut my door behind me and lock it.

“Hey Rae they’re playing drinking games out back on the porch so get you a drink and come out with us.” Noah says and I nod. I fill my cup up with vodka and add a little juice and walk out back. They’re all in a circle and I end up stuck sitting next to Veronica and across from Lucas.

“Okay we’re going to play never have I ever. Do all of you know how the game works?” Veronica asks and everyone nods. “Okay I’ll start. Never have I ever been jealous of anyone at this table.” She says and looks at me. Everyone drinks but Veronica and I. Grace goes next “Never have I ever slept with anyone at this table.” She says and everyone drinks but me. A girl from the cheer team goes next “Never have I ever hated anyone from this table.” She says and I take a huge gulp because I f*****g hated most of the bitches in this circle. Lucas is next “Never have I ever had a crush on anyone at this party.” He says and I look at him to see him already looking but we break eye contact a second later. Everyone at the table drinks. A guy from the football team is next. “Never have I ever had a wet dream about someone at this party.” He says and everyone drinks. Another guy from the football team is next. “Never have I ever thought of someone while having s*x with a different person.” He says and everyone drinks but me. It’s Jaces turn and I’m only just realizing he’s sitting next to me. “Never have I ever fought someone over something stupid.” He says and Veronica, Lucas, Jace, Kell, and I drink. It’s my turn now and I have to think about it for a second. “Never have I ever hit someone for no reason.” I say and Veronica, the cheer leader, and one of the football players drink. They’re all the same people who used to jump me.

“This is boring let’s play truth or dare.” Kell says and we all agree. Noah finished his beer and places the empty bottle in the middle. He spins it and it lands on Grace. “Truth or Dare?” He asks “Dare” Graces says and he thinks about it. “I dare you to make out with Veronica.” He says and she scrunches you her nose. Grace hates Veronica as much as I do. “What if I don’t want to?” She asks and he smirks. “You have to take a shot of what ever I choose.” Noah says. “Okay what am I taking a shot of?” She asks and he thinks about it. He slides her a shot of whiskey and she takes it. She spins the bottle and it lands on Veronica. “Truth or Dare?” She asks “Truth” Veronica answers. “Why are you here?” Grace asks and Veronica looks surprised by her question. She blushes and looks down. “I came to have fun.” She says and we all know that’s a lie.

“You picked truth so maybe you should try telling the truth.” I say and she looks up at me and snarls.

“Maybe you should learn to keep your mouth shut.” She says and I grin evilly. “Maybe once you learn to keep your legs shut. You’ve slept with basically every guy in the school so I wouldn’t be surprised if the real reason your here is to try and get in someone’s pants.” I say and everyone goes quiet.

Veronica looks surprised and ready to go off at the same time. “You stupid b***h how dare you talk to me like that?” She yells and I smirk. “The only reason your getting defensive is because we all know it’s the truth.” I say and she tries to hit me but I catch her hand. “You really need to stop trying to hit me.” I say and slap her with so much force she falls.

“Now you either stop your bullshit or f*****g leave.” I say and she gets up pissed off. She tries to hit me again but I move in time to not be hit. Kell yells for us to stop and I get distracted for a second but it’s enough time for Veronica to be able to land a punch to my nose. My nose starts to bleed and I look back at her. I punch her and she screams falling to the floor again. I don’t give her a chance to get back up before I start throwing punch after punch to her face.

I just wanted to have one day without drama but it’s too much to ask for when Veronica is around. Jace picks me up and pulls me off of her. Lucas goes over and helps her up. “Of f*****g course your helping that w***e! I can’t f*****g stand either of you! I thought you were better than that Lucas! I thought you f*****g cared but you’re just like everyone else.” I say my voice breaking at the end. “I hate both of you and you can both get the f**k out of my face.” I say and rip out of Jaces arms walking inside to clean up my nose.

When I get the blood to finally stop I go upstairs and grab a spliff out of Kell’s room. I go downstairs smoking it and grab a cup full of straight vodka and go to the living room and sit down.

I’m sitting there just drinking and smoking my pain away when someone stands over me. I look up and it’s Lucas. I roll my eyes and get up to walk away but he grabs me and pulls me into him.

I keep getting dirty looks from the other girls that are here but I don’t give a damn. “What the f**k do you want? Shouldn’t you be helping your little w***e clean her face up?” I ask angrily and he rolls his eyes. “Calm the f**k down Rae it’s not that big of a deal. I only helped her up.” He says and I’m about to flip my f*****g s**t.

“What the f**k do you mean it’s not that big of a deal? She’s one of the people who’s made my life a living hell and a few days ago when I come back I see you making out with her and then today just a few minutes ago you help her up and check on her when your supposed to be my friend!” I yell going off and push him.

He stumbles back and I walk away. I go upstairs into my room and smoke my joint by myself. Kell walks in and shuts the door behind her. She grabs the joint out of my hand and takes a drag.

“Are you okay?” She asks after blowing out the smoke. I nod and take two drags and pass it back to her. “It just hurt seeing him take her side after he knows what she did to me.” I say and Kell shakes her head. After we smoke two joints I’m stoned and drunk but I don’t care. I go downstairs and start dancing not paying attention to anyone else in the room even as it felt like it was spinning.

Someone came up behind me and pulled me against them and we started dancing. We danced for a few more songs me not knowing who it is but honestly right now I don’t care. Finally after the song ends I turn around and see it’s Jace.

He leans down and we start making out. He pulls me closer if that’s even possible and I run my fingers through his hair. We continue making out for a few more minutes until we break apart for air. He trails kisses down my neck and back up until he reaches my mouth and we start kissing again and the next thing I know we’re on the couch grinding on each other until someone interrupts.

I groan and pull away looking up at who the person is that just interrupted us. I see Noah and I roll my eyes, I look back down at Jace and smile at him and bite his bottom lip before getting up and walking away with Noah.

“What’s wrong Noah why’d you interrupt us?” I whined he just rolled his eyes and didn’t answer until we got to my room and we went in.

“What’s wrong Noah?” I ask concerned.

“I just got a call from the club we’re all going to be fighting at and they said we can start coming in anytime we want and that they’ll have fights for us.” He said and I was shocked but excited at the same time. I smiled up at him and squealed. “This means I can get back to fighting!” I say excitedly making him laugh.

“Yes but that means you need to start training again and tell your family about what you do before they find out in a wrong way.” He says and I sigh. “I know I know but I’ll think about that when I’m sober but for now let’s go party!” I said and dragged him out of the room after making sure Paco and Rouge were still in there and locked my door.

The party didn’t end until 3am and I spent the whole night with Jace and my friends. We partied until 2am when I started getting sleepy so Jace carried me upstairs to my room. I fell asleep after Noah and Kell promised they would make sure everyone left by 3 and that they would close the gate.

I woke up screaming from another nightmare. I seen him again and it was like I was paralyzed this time and I didn’t get away from him. I was screaming and crying when I felt someone trying to hold me down to calm me down but all I could think of was how he tried holding me down too.

“Stop let go of me!” I yelled still crying.

“I’m sorry I’ll do whatever you want just stop!” I yelled at whoever was holding me down.

“I’m sorry please stop!” I yelled crying harder. I finally woke up and seen it was just Lucas. WAIT WHAT WAS LUCAS STILL DOING IN MY HOUSE!? He was supposed to leave with everyone else. And more importantly why was he in my room?

“Lucas what are you doing here?” I asked still trying to calm down from my nightmare. He didn’t answer just stared at me with sadness in his eyes.

“Don’t look at me like that.” I sigh and he doesn’t say anything just pulls me towards his chest and holds me. I tense up at first and try to get out of his grip but he’s too strong so I just lay my head on his chest and try to not cry.

“Princess whatever happened whether you want to talk about it or not, I won’t let anyone hurt you.” He said but I don’t trust him.

Everyone makes promises but they never stick to them. People promise to stay then walk out as soon as they find someone better. He’s not any different because as soon as he sees how broken I am he’s going to know I’m not any good and leave. They always do.

“I can tell that you don’t believe me but I stick to my word even if you don’t trust me I’m here.” He says and a tear slips from my eye. I’m so f*****g weak only the weak cries and here I am letting a tear out.

I wipe the tear and he pulls away and looks at me. I don’t understand why he cares. He doesn’t I’m just being naive. He cares about Veronica not me.

I can’t trust anybody because in the end they’ll all leave.

I get so lost in thought that I forgot he was sitting here with me until I felt him pick me up. For some reason I don’t panic when he touches me or picks me up but when it’s other people I do. Even when I was dancing with Jace and he had his hands on me I was slightly panicking.

“Lucas what the f**k are you doing?” I ask as he carry’s me bridal style he doesn’t answer just takes me into my bathroom and starts filling my bathtub with water and when it’s full picks me up again and walks over to it sitting me down on my feet in front of it.

“Take a bath and freshen up, I’ll be waiting downstairs for you.” He says and before I could protest walks out.

Why does he suddenly care about me? Why’s he being different towards me? Why was he even here? I have so many questions running through my head so I get into the bath and decide to push them away for now and just relax.

I wash up and get out going into my closet. I look at all my clothes and decide on black jean shorts, dark red tank top, and my leather jacket. I put my black vans on and after brushing my hair throw it up in a messy bun since I don’t feel like messing with it today.

I walk downstairs into the kitchen because I’m hungry and see Lucas is down there talking with Noah while Kell glares at him. She doesn’t like him because of whatever’s going on with Veronica and him because she knows how it hurts me.

I’m confused on his sudden decision to pay attention to me but it’s Lucas I never could read him like I could everyone else. I see he made food and fix myself a plate because I’m starving. I stuff my face with pancakes. I moan and Lucas turns to me and I notice his eyes are darker. “These are f*****g delicious.” I say stuffing more in my mouth. He laughs and Kell tries to steal a piece of bacon off my plate.

“My bacon no ma’am.” I say and smack her hand away. She pouts and gives me the puppy eyes. Damn her and her f*****g puppy eyes! I sigh and give her a piece and she smiles making me roll my eyes. I hear Rogue and Paco running down the stairs and get up to feed them. I fix their food and add some chicken and egg in each of their bowls before going and setting it down in front of them.

“I had custom made chains made for them it should be coming in the mail either today or tomorrow so watch for it please.” I said and everyone nodded.

“You never did tell me what you were doing here.” I said turning to Lucas.

“I crashed here last night, didn’t feel like going home.” He said and shrugged. I nodded and he walked over to stand in front of me.

“You ready to go?” He asked and I nodded.

“Where are you two going?” Noah asked looking confused because me and Lucas didn’t like each other. I shrugged and turned to look at Lucas for an answer.

“I’m just taking her out with me.” He said and shrugged.

“Why we don’t like each other?” I asked and he smirked pulling me towards his by my waist.

“Who said I didn’t like you princess?” He asked with a raised eyebrow and that stupid smirk on his lips that I so badly wanted to slap off.

“Your actions say you don’t like me.” I deadpanned with an emotionless face. He just rolled his eyes at me.

“If your talking about Veronica again I ended the thing I had with her.” He said and in my head I was doing a little happy dance but kept my face void of emotion.

“Okay let’s go.” He said and picked me up and threw me over his shoulder. I seen Kell shoot up out of herself probably expecting me to start to panic but I smile reassuringly to her and she calms down.

Kell has always been super protective of me after what happened that night and I’m really thankful for her because she’s always been by my side through it all. Noah was always there for me too but he doesn’t understand like Kell does.

Lucas walks out with me still over his shoulder and sets me down in front of his truck. His truck is huge and I love it! I run over to the drivers side and open the door.

I try to climb in but he picks me up again. “Lucas put me down.” I whine but he just chuckles and turns me around towards him so I have to wrap my legs around his waist so I don’t fall.

“What were you trying to do princess?” He asks and at first I was confused but then I realized what he was talking about.

“I just want to drive your huge truck!” I whine and he chuckles again and sits me down.

“In your dreams sweetheart nobody’s allowed to drive my baby.” He says and tries to move into his drivers seat but I move in front of him.

“Please?” I beg with puppy eyes and I can tell he’s about to say yes.

“Fine but if you wreck her your paying for the damages and I’m going to spank your ass until you can’t sit for two weeks.” He said and I don’t believe he’ll spank me and I’m too excited to drive his truck to care.

I take his keys and try to climb in but Lucas had to help me because his trucks too hard for me to climb in.

“So where are we going boss man?” I ask and he chuckles. “Wherever you want to go.” He said and I nod.

“Will you be okay that we’ll be on the road for a few hours?” I ask and he shrugs but looks confused.

“I want to get another tattoo but the guy I go to is all the way by the military school I used to go to.” I say to clear up his confusion and he nods.

“You know you could just go to my tattoo artist instead right? He’s only 15 minutes away.” He says and I consider it but I told Andy I’d go to him.

“No can do sir I told my tattoo artist I’d go to him when I wanted a tattoo.” I said and he nodded. I texted Andy that I was on my way to get another tattoo and he replied back letting me know he quit and was moving soon. I asked him why and where he was moving and it turns out he got a better job offer over here in Rochester and he was already on his way.

“The guy I go to got a job offer over here so it looks like I won’t be going to him.” I said turning to Lucas. He nodded and gave me directions to the tattoo shop he goes to.

We get there in 10 minutes with me speeding and Lucas complaining. “We didn’t get caught speeding calm your tits.” I say and he glared at me.

“You could’ve wrecked my baby and it’s illegal.” He said and I rolled my eyes.

“I never was one to follow rules and it’s only illegal if you get caught.” I say and go inside before he can reply.

A guy with a bunch of piercings and tattoos walks over towards us. “Hey Lucas want another tattoo already?” He asks and then looks at me and smiles.

“Who’s the pretty girl you brought with you?” He asks but still looking at me.

“I’m Rae and it’s actually me getting a tat not Lucas.” I say and he nods.

“What tattoo are you wanting?” He asks and I pull out my phone but hiding it from Lucas’ view.

“I want to see.” He whines and I smile at him.

“It’s a surprise you can see it after.” I say and he rolls his eyes.

“I’m going with you back there so why not just tell me?” He asks and I roll my eyes.

“Well then you can watch and see.” I say and don’t give him a chance to say anything else as the guy walks us back. I’m actually getting two tattoos.
