CHAPTER 1
A drop of tears rolled down my cheek as the greasy food I was eating smeared all over my uniform. I tried to wipe it with my finger but what use was my hand against oil?
“Useless Kate, you think I won't be able to find you? You can never hide from me, you fool!” Bella stood in front of me with her hands on her hips and a sneer on her face.
My body began to tremble with anger and embarrassment. This is not the first or the second time that Bella has tormented me, and she has even beaten me up countless times. But why won't Bella stop embarrassing me in public?
I have tens of hideouts all around the college, but the sensing ability of a werewolf is indeed powerful, and Bella always managed to find my hiding place.
I had to leave the cafeteria and bring my food to the quiet library just to escape the ridicule of Bella, but she found me again.
“A fool indeed! Useless Omega!”
“Beat her up!”
“This pack is not for fools like you Kate! Merely your sight disgusts everyone!”
Mocking shouts came from all the corners of the library.
“The mating ceremony will soon be here. You probably will not be able to find a mate all your life. And you may be lucky to find an equally useless mate like yourself. Hahaha” Bella laughed at me maliciously, revealing her white set of teeth, contrasting sharply with the sarcastic look in her eyes.
A wave of laughter swept through the library. I managed to hold back my tears and stood up to leave the library.
“Leaving so soon?” Bella smirked and grabbed my hand. I became annoyed and struggled with her, but it was useless against her strong grip. I am just an Omega after all.
“Sit down, weakling! You can only leave when I say so!” she shouted and shoved me back into my seat roughly before grabbing the orange juice on the reading table next to me.
“No…” I held my head in panic and tried to dodge what she has always done and I knew she was going to do.
“I said sit!” A swift slap knocked me back into my seat and the bottle of orange juice came pouring down on my head, turning my shiny blue hair into a damp combination of blue and yellow.
My heart tightened and I could not hold my tears. They began to flow down my face in the company of orange juice that flowed out of the multicolored mop that my hair had become.
Loud laughter exploded throughout the library. There were shouts and booes of encouragement everywhere and a lot of mocking fingers pointed at my head.
The heavy weight of the shame crushed my spirit and bitterness began to swirl up within me.
“You are crying?” Bella laughed out loud at the sight of my red eyes with satisfaction written all over her smug face.
“We have not started, and you are already crying. How more useless can you be?” Bella lifted my head and shook the empty can on my face, splattering the last drops of juice on my face.
“This useless i***t is a disgrace to me and my family. She is a stinking dent on my reputation. I have no f*cking stepsister like her!”
Loud shouts of agreement and encouragement rang out again. The library was now filled to the brim with spectators, each of them particularly enjoying my predicament.
My hands were increasingly trembling and I knew I was at the verge of breakdown. I have to escape from this humiliation!
I pushed Bella and stood up when she was off guard. I began to run, and luckily no one pursued me.
Even though it was not yet the closing time, I did not want to stay one more second in this damn place.
“You damn thing! Useless Omega! Stop there!” I heard Bella's loud scream behind me but I continued to run without looking back.
After running for more than ten minutes I finally stopped while panting heavily. My eyes brightened a little, I was almost home!
My house was around the corner, and I was too familiar with this path, the same path I trek to school everyday while Bella drives her own car.
But who asked me to be a weak omega? After all, Bella was the precious daughter of the family.
With two long braids of red hair and a beautiful face, Bella can only be described as an all-rounder. Especially with her identity as alpha Nicole's girlfriend. Unlike me, she is the direct description of beautiful.
And her wolf is a big wolf with white fur. As for me, I am beginning to believe I am ugly, because that is what I hear all day.
I began to slowly walk home with exhaustion. I was completely exhausted and I have to sleep, at least before Bella comes back.
I knew the rest of the day was not going to be peaceful, so why not rest why I still can?
The few people I met on the way gave me disdainful looks. I did not feel bad than I was already feeling, after all, have I not gotten used to such treatment?
I am Kate Brian, the weakest Omega in the entire Red moon pack who is yet to shift into her wolf.
I have been treated like an outcast since birth, with mocking stares and finger pointing at me everywhere I go.
No one wants to associate with me, Kate, the useless omega who cannot even shift into her wolf.
Pain and grief has always been a common thing to me as everyone treats me just like Bella. Even my father, Alex Brian, does not want me.
As for my mother, I was told I don't have one. So I have always been by myself. Probably I will soon find a relief, probably I will soon have someone to share my grief with, probably; because the mating ceremony is only few days away!
If I am lucky enough to have a mate, my life will be much better.
I dared to dream of having a caring and loving mate because the accumulated pain and bitterness in my soul is almost killing me. I need someone to rest on his shoulder and heal myself with his love. Moon goddess!
I clasped my hands together in prayer as I walked straight into my room.
Moon goddess, help me find a loving mate and help me to shift into my wolf. Even if I am an omega, I should be able to shift, right?
My head throbbed and my stomach churned as I remembered what Bella did to me again today.
I quickly stood up and locked the door tightly, my heart thumping at the thought of Bella barging into my room and straggling me to death later.
I took a shower tiredly and stared downstairs through the window at the garage, breathing a sigh of relief; there is no sign of a car there.
My heavy eyelids closed slowly as my head landed on the pillow, drifting into a troubled sleep.
Horn! Horn!!
My eyes flung open and panic appeared on my weak face. Alas! Bella is here.
