My mouth hung open at the figure of the man that stood before me.
His firm eyes and well chiseled jawline made my heart to start thumping wildly. He looked f*ucking hot in the white suit he wore and I began to secretly drool.
I was slowly losing my breath and sanity but I knew I had to control myself at this point.
This is alpha Nicole, the person that Bella could do anything to get. And I am his mate?
“It's you?” Alpha Nicole's displeased voice brought me out of my reverie.
“Why is it you?”
All my chaotic emotions calmed down immediately. It was like a bucket of cold water was poured over my head. I knew that he recognized me.
“Kate Brian, Bella's stepsister?”
I nodded my head weakly and bowed my head in confusion.
Why is the moon goddess doing this to me? I never chased after power. I just want a mate who will love me and give my life a meaning again.
But now alpha Nicole is my mate.
Since he could mention my name, I have no doubt that he knew about my identity as the popular useless omega who could not even shift into her wolf.
I suddenly felt a gentle force shift my body from the entrance of the door that I stood.
I let out a surprised scream and looked up to the empty room.
It seems he stormed out of the room and knocked me out of the way because I was indeed standing in front of the door.
A bad premonition rose in my heart. I managed to suppress the tears that was threatening to pour in torrents down my face. Was he still going to accept me as his mate, or was he…? No.
I refused to cry and begin to move back into the yard where low romantic music was already playing slowly.
My unease melted as I strolled into the yard and found a seat.
The strong desire to have someone who will love me and protect me from the evil people around me actually gave me hope.
Maybe I will be accepted and marked after all.
The strong and intoxicating smell of rosewood again wafted strongly into my nose.
I looked up instinctively and met the gloomy eyes of alpha Nicole.
He was there sitting on the podium with rage in his eyes. I was scared pale and lowered my head immediately.
His eyes just now was too scary and I was now feeling completely uneasy while the smell of rosewood continued to manipulate my mind with wild thoughts.
“Damn! It's you?” Bella's scream reached my ears and I turned my head towards where the noise was coming from.
I sat alone at a corner that was relatively closer to the alpha's villa, so I heard the scream clearly.
No one seems to notice the sound except me as I was always isolated and moreso, almost everyone in the yard was busy dancing with their mate.
“I refuse to accept this!” Bella shouted hysterically again.
I seems to realize what was happening and sighed bitterly. My life is bound to be chaotic these coming days.
“I, Bella Brian, hereby officially reject you as my mate” Bella hissed and walked out of the room angrily.
My face changed as she began to walk towards my direction with a vengeful look in her eyes.
A male slave also walked out of the villa with a mop in his hand and a face full of resentment. I saw him stare at Bella's back with resentment and an idea popped up in my mind.
So that's how it really was. I looked back to Bella who was almost in front of me with fear.
If it had been before, I might have laughed a little but now the case was different.
The look in her eyes was like someone who wanted to commit murder. My body began to tremble visibly on my seat.
“You sl*t! Useless Omega! You think you can take away my Nicole from me?” she grabbed at my long hair and drew me into a completely isolated corner.
We both walked into the alpha's mansion earlier, so she seems to know what transpired me and alpha Nicole.
“You can never have him in your miserable life! He is my boyfriend and he is mine!”
A punch soon collided with my face. Series of punches and kicks began to fall down on my body like rain.
After some minutes, Bella wiped her sweat and walked away into the yard. By then I was already in a miserable position.
My hair was scattered like a blue mop on my head and my appearance was far away from being presentable.
“Everyone, today is a remarkable day in the history of this pack”
Alpha Nicole was already giving his speech.
I managed to crawl with my battered body back into the yard and sat down where I was before.
I was at the verge of crying but I refused to cry. I was still hopeful.
Hopeful that I may finally have a shoulder to lean on, to share my burden with.
“I am happy for everyone of you. Congratulations”
Loud cheers rose from the whole yard as soon as alpha Nicole paused. The bad feeling from earlier began to rise in my heart again.
“Today's mating ceremony is a special one”
Everyone became silent as soon as alpha Nicole continued his speech.
The mating ceremony was indeed special, as the alpha will be presenting his future Luna to the whole pack.
“Today, I, Alpha Nicole, will present my future Luna to everyone”
I lifted up my head and saw everyone's look of anticipation. My heart began to beat erratically again. Moon goddess, please…
“This pack needs a strong and capable Luna. Strength and intelligence is what this pack needs this period in a Luna, and we are not going to settle for less!”
My right eyelid twitched slightly at his last words.
Panic slowly began to build up and engulf my heart as soon as I saw his face full of rage when our eyes met.
“But today, I refuse to accept the will of the moon goddess!”
The yard gradually became noisy as soon as alpha Nicole spoke the next sentence.
My heart jumped to my throat and breathing became extremely difficult for me.
What is that supposed to mean? Is rejection going to be my fate?
I turned my head in a daze and met Bella's mocking eyes.
“How can the moon goddess make a useless omega who cannot shift into her wolf my mate?”
Alpha Nicole's voice raised several degrees. The tears that I refused to shed before began to roll down my face.
“I, alpha Nicole, officially reject Kate Brian as my mate!”
My worst fear finally came true.
My mind became blank and my head began to spin.
My heart was bleeding and bitterness clouded my reasoning.
“I hereby present to everyone the future Luna of this pack, Bella Brian”
Loud cheers and applause filled the yard. Everyone pointed at me and laughed to their heart content.
I felt my sanity slowly fading away.
Even my own mate rejected me and chose my sister over me.
I slowly dragged my body up and began to run out of the yard with the little strength I had. Since no one wanted me, I might as well end everything.
I ran out of the yard as far as my leg could carry me.
My throat was almost dried up and my stomach felt like it was about to burst.
I stopped to catch my breath while panting heavily.
A dazzling board beside the road caught my attention as soon as I lifted my head.
Rocking Passion club?
I staggered in and ordered bottles of strong liquor.
I soon drowned myself in the alcohol and became drunk, but I did not stop.
After emptying two cartons of liquor, I stood up to leave and suddenly lost my balance.
A pair of strong hands held my waist and prevented me from falling.
I lifted my flushed face and my eyes met a magnetic silver eyes.
I suddenly grabbed his head and pressed my mouth to his mouth fiercely.
I wrapped my legs around his waist and began to move my hands restlessly around his muscular body.
I forced my tongue into his mouth and used my left hand to trace my way down to his loins.
His body was warm with firm muscles. He resisted but soon began to respond to my kiss.
Perhaps he is going to be my relief.
