CHAPTER 3 The next day followed the pattern of the first day. The children were all up and ready for school when the bus came for them. Daisy, Mark, and Doris enjoyed a leisurely breakfast after the bus left. While the women were clearing away after breakfast, Mark went outside to call the station and see if there were any updates about Derrick. The officer in charge said they had not located Derrick.
