CHAPTER 5
Mark received a call from Captain Michaels the next day. He went outside to take the call. He wanted to hear any news before he passed it on to Doris.
“Hello, James, any news for me?” asked Mark.
“Yeah, a couple of things; first, a couple of Derrick’s friends broke into the house Doris had been living in. They didn’t have time to do much damage, mostly some graffiti on one wall, before a patrol spotted their motorcycles and arrested them. They are now in lock up. Second, I talked to the Judge. He said he was faxing Glen Black Feather and the Indian council. Since the children’s father was Glen’s cousin, they have complete authority to decide where they live and who with. He said he would notify the CPS they were to close the case as they had no authority in the matter.” James
