CHAPTER 7
When they reached home, Mark stayed outside to make some phone calls and Doris went inside to find Daisy in the kitchen. Daisy noticed Doris’s ring at once. She kissed Doris on the cheek and hugged her.
“It’s beautiful,” said Daisy.
“Thank you,” said Doris. “Mark was telling me about a bracelet I can make to exchange at the wedding.”
“Yes, like this one,” said Daisy holding up her arm and rolling up her sleeve showing the bracelet above the elbow on her arm.
Doris admired the bracelet on Daisy’s arm. “It is lovely. Why is the bracelet worn above the elbow?” asked Doris.
“The men started putting it there because so many of them work with their hands, and it could be a danger to them on their wrists,” said Daisy.
