Waking up I unconsciously feel around on my bed with one arm in search of the hard body belonging to Matt, realizing he isn't there my eyes pop open and I shoot up straight out of bed. If that asshole left already without doing an in dept search on my target he won't ever have to worry about using protection again because I'll rip his balls off with my bare hands. Dashing to my closet in record time I grab underwear and an over size t-shirt that Matt previously left here, in less than thirty seconds I have my bra, panties and shirt on stomping my way to the bedroom door. Yanking the door open so hard it almost comes off the hinges my anger dissipates as I see the brown headed vampire on the couch leaning close to his various computer monitors as well as several different types of computers, frowning as he frantically types away. Releasing a breath of relief silently I pad over to him sitting right next to him on the couch. Believe it or not but the bastard once ran out on me like I was a one night stand and didn't do any research for me like he was supposed to so honestly I wouldn't be all that surprised if he snuck out on me again.
"What's wrong?" I question as I watch his frown deepen, his forehand wrinkling with confusion and frustration.
"Good morning my sexy fox." He pauses his typing, turning his face to me a fake smile crosses his features as he leans in giving me a sensual kiss on the lips that I just want to melt into. "You look amazing in that shirt and the way you smell right now is driving me crazy." His voice is husky as he says this against my lips, knowing he's just acting like this to avoid my question I gently push the gorgeous green eyed vampire away from me crossing my arms over my chest causing him to frown once again.
"Don't try to avoid my question, now tell me why you are upset."
Sighing he runs a large hand through his already messy hair. "I've used all my connections and did all research possible and came up just as blank as the information you already have, however I did learn something about that werewolf pack." This peaks my interest even though the werewolf pack is the largest they are very secretive not many knowing what goes on there or who exactly is part of the pack, they are so secretive that the alpha has never even been seen, he or she hasn't shown up to any mandatory werewolf events. Motioning my hand I urge him to continue talking. "They aren't all werewolves.... they are mainly werewolves but someone has leaked to a handful of people that they actually have different shifters there along with some supernaturals that are possibly in hiding." My jaw drops hearing this. Different shifters don't get along under any circumstance because they find their own species far more superior than the rest, shifters are always at war with each other trying to prove who is better so to hear they could possibly be living together is mind blowing. Also werewolves are strict about supernatural laws and if they know anything about a criminal they either kill them or hand them over to either one of the supernatural councils or the organization, it's unbelievable they would hide someone, the alpha's won't even hide their own children much less someone else. "Listen closely, I don't know what mission the organization has given you, especially when you haven't told me what exactly your job is but if you are needing to get into this pack for spy work or whatever it is you do be careful cause they could be dangerous. If they find an organization member on their territory trying to sniff out their affairs they could kill you because you are a protector and whatever they are hiding could possibly make the entire pack a target of the organization." Matt's green eyes bore into my mismatched ones giving me a pleading look.
"Don't worry, I'll plan carefully and I've been in so many dangerous situations I can't count them all. I won't let anything happen to myself cause if I do who else is going to want to sleep with a computer geek vampire?" I tease making those pleading green eyes light up as his adorable dimples show with a slight smile. Matt may be a computer geek but damn he is one of the hottest supernaturals I've ever laid eyes on and that says a lot since most supernaturals are created to be incredibly attractive. Momentarily forgetting about our conversation my eyes travel to his plump lips, aching to feel them against my own I lean forward to give him a passionate kiss, noticing what I intend to do Matt lowers his head to meet me halfway. When our lips are less than an inch apart the living room door slams open. Shocked Matt and I jump away from each other as a growl that nearly shakes the house erupts. s**t! That's a growl I'm more than familiar with, my cheeks flush as I meekly look towards the door where a seething fallen angel is standing. "Hi dad."
Matt's eyes widen hearing me say dad, in pure terror slowly he faces the door as well, all color draining from his face. "D-Damon Li-Light." Matt stutters intimidated by the most powerful fallen angel who is also the leader the organization.
"You f*****g bastard! If you don't keep your dirty hands off my daughter I'll kill you." Dad grits out glaring so hard at Matt that the vampire gulps in fear. "Leave NOW!" Not wasting anytime Matt packs up his equipment as fast as he can and books it out of the house by going out a window so he won't have to walk past my dad.
"Why the hell did you do that?!" I screech at dad, his anger instantly vanishes replaced by a look of love for his daughter.
"Sweetie you're too good for him and you don't need to be sleeping around with someone when there's a match somewhere out there for you." Here we go again with this crap. Apparently most supernaturals have a match of some sort, mom and dad are matches or mates as some call them, but when they met dad didn't have any sort of bond with mom but she imprinted on him as soon as she saw him, he didn't start getting a bond with her til he started having feelings for her. When shifters (excluding my parents) and vampires find their one and only it's an immediate bond between the two and damn does my dad push for me to find my mate.
"Don't forget you were three hundred years old and mom a thousand when you met and the only reason you didn't sleep around is because mom had no knowledge of anything since she lived with foxes in the woods her entire life and you are a divine being who was too busy burring himself in work to start any sort of relationship. I'm twenty five and am not waiting til I find my other half when it could take centuries or longer since I'm immortal! I don't have time for a mate anyway and whenever I do stumble upon him or her I wouldn't be able to keep up with my missions, that is if you would even let me be an assassin for the organization anymore." I huff ending my short tirade. What I never mention when arguing with my dad about this stuff is the fact that I may not have a mate, it's not something he wants to think about or hear. Hybrids are less likely to have a mate especially when I'm half fallen angel, fallen angels don't have mates they just find love and get married like humans do. Honestly it's pretty much a miracle dad somehow formed a bond with my mom, in normal cases she would be bonded to him but he wouldn't have a bond, just have to fall in love and hope his love doesn't waver for the rest of their immortal lives.
"I'll fire you as an assassin when you have kids, at the rate you are going it won't be long." He mutters the last part under his breath, with my hearing I heard his words making my jaw drop open. How the hell can he say something like that?!
My fists clench. "Dad! Did you just basically call your daughter a w***e?!"
"Oh Gods no! I meant if you keep messing around with that vampire it won't be long til there's mini versions of you running around the place." Unable to stop myself an irritated growl escapes my lips making my dad raise one brow at me, growling at a parent is the equivalent of a human teenager cussing at their parent.
"There's a thing called condoms and birth control, trust me no kids will be running around here." I pinch the bridge of my nose closing my eyes. "What are you doing here anyway?"
The couch dips down beside me. "Well first off I just wanted to see my workaholic daughter, and secondly I brought you this." My eyes open just in time to see a small plastic container tossed to me, with quick reflexes I manage to grab it before it hit me in the face, dad doesn't warn me before he does something so he can check on how good my reflexes are. Opening up the the container a smile crosses my face as I gaze at the several contact holders that I know contain blue contacts. It's a hassle to go out with one pink eye and a blue one, the sign of a hybrid. Humans look at me as if I'm a freak so I try to wear a blue contact hiding my pink eye.
"Thanks."
"I figured since you have not come home to order anything and only show up to the organization for more spelled weapons you've probably not had time to get any contacts and I know how wearing sunglasses is annoying to you." The mention of sunglasses makes me want to roll my eyes, since I have fox ears on top of my head I have to order special sunglasses made for supernaturals with animal ears which isn't all that many and the plastic or metal of the frames makes my sensitive ears sore if I wear them for too long. Spotting the new information Matt found sitting on the coffee table dad picks up the documents intently scanning them over.
"Matt couldn't find out anything new about the target but he did manage to find something about the pack." Dad just nods at my words as his face changes expressions obviously as confused about the pack as I am.
"Blood Moon is registered as a werewolf pack and known to be one but from this information it seems it's a pack made up of different supernaturals and possibly criminals, something like this is unheard of." He frowns.
"I know, I'm wondering if this is leaked false information or if it's true. Matt can usually spot truth from fiction but since we have absolutely nothing to go on we need to treat this as real."
"If this is real then the mission may be more dangerous than I expected. Due to lack of information it was obvious you would have to find a way to infiltrate the pack but this is a big game changer, I hope you can come up with a good plan."
Shifting myself on the couch I lean back folding my arms behind my head and plopping my bare feet onto the coffee table smirking. "Coming up with a plan is easy, it's the executing it that is hard, so many different factors can alter the coarse of the plan or even make you have to change it."
"To make this clear this isn't a mission I will be able to send you back up if needed but that would not be ideal, it's a one man job, if we try to send in anymore than one being it would be too suspicious and possibly mean death on the spot. One thing you have going for you is the fact you can chose to make them think you are a fallen angel if you are willing to wear contacts twenty four hours a day and keep your ears and tail hidden, or you can claim to be a werewolf hybrid which would explain the ears and tail but you obviously know it's probably not the best idea to shift since you are actually a fox which no one but the organization and a handful of others knows exists." Even though dad is trying to hide it I can tell just how worried he is, having to fool hundreds of beings while trying to get close to one specific being is nearly impossible to do without being found out, but I'm the best there is being the only shot at successfully pulling this off, if he was to send someone else besides me he knows he would more than likely just be sending the person to their death.
"I'll make sure I'm prepared for every possible scenario." Rex comes flying into the room chirping in greeting to my dad who chuckles and pulls out a treat from his pocket for the fat little dragon looking hybrid. Everyone quickly learned to bring treats of some sort when they came over or Rex would be mean to them, he likes to scratch and bite if he doesn't like you and as long as you feed him he usually likes someone except for Matt, he may leave my vampire friend alone but Rex doesn't care to make it known he hates him by ignoring him and sending him glares. Seeing the chirping creature made a thought pop into my head making me groan, I'll have to take that little monster with me or he will annoy the other creatures til one of them finally gets ahold of him and rips him to shreds. "Since there's no telling how long I will be gone make sure someone comes by often to keep an eye on the creatures."
Dad just nods as he pets Rex who is sitting in his lap as if he was a cat. " Don't worry Reina you'll have more than one sibling volunteer to probably live here til you're back just so they won't have to stay with their parents and follow the rules." I snort thinking of my younger siblings that are still teenagers that constantly complain about mom and dad not letting them do this or that, I never had the problem of my parents telling me what I can and can't do since all I wanted to do was be with the creatures at headquarters or train to be a protector. Honestly my parents didn't know whether to be happy about having such an obedient child or worried since I never did anything any normal child or teenager wanted to do.
Dad and I finally moved onto more normal topics after discussing my upcoming job. Sometimes I forget just how nice it is to be with my dad conversing about anything and everything, making me feel more normal, like I'm something other than a killing machine. I was more than happy when dad stayed from morning til night, we spent the day watching movies eating takeout and genuinely enjoying each other's company. When night arrived dad was reluctant to leave but he had work to do and mom started calling him like crazy, overly anxious that he's been apart from her for too long. After his departure I immediately started formulating a plan to get into the Blood Moon pack. Picking up my phone I call Matt who answers on the first ring.
"Hello again gorgeous."
A smile dances across my face hearing his voice. "I have a plan, I need you to gather some vampire friends who wouldn't care about getting a little hurt. Call me when you finished contacting them." Before he has a chance to respond I hang up on him not wanting to explain my plan to him til it's time to execute it.
Going into my bedroom I open up the large walk in closet, walking to the very back I remove the false wall revealing more weapons and several enchanted different backpacks and duffel bags. Grabbing a hiking backpack I open it inspecting the necessities, clothing and food inside making sure everything I need is in there, satisfied with its contents I put the false wall back in place hiding my secret stash. I have weapons and packed bags hidden all around the house just in case of the need of an emergency escape. The reasoning of picking out this specific backpack is that it's enchanted to hide all my weapons from anyone I don't want to see them and somehow my mom made it like a Mary Poppins bag where I can put an entire artillery in there and it takes up no space. Magic is incredible defying the laws of physics like that. Having made up my plan and already packed (except for weapons) I just have to wait on Matt's call then I can start my tricky mission.
Going down to the basement I head straight to the workout room to release some of the adrenaline coursing through my veins at the thought of killing my new target. I stretch then get on the treadmill for a good warm up, well atleast what I consider a warm up, usually everyone uses it to warm up for at most thirty minutes but not me, I go for an hour, sometimes two hours. Having my warm up out of the way I put on punching gloves and light leg guards to keep my legs from getting too bruised from different kinds of kicks sent to the several sandbags hanging from the ceiling. After throwing a few punches and kicks I shove each sandbag hard enough to make them swing violently all around me, as each one swings towards me I dodge, punch and kick as if I was fighting a group of people, since there isn't anyone here to spar with, this is the closest thing I have to fighting opponents. Over ten bags swinging back and forth at me at the same time is great for training my reflexes and speed. I train like a madman til I'm completely drained of all energy barely able to stand up as sweat pours off me, having to throw hits and dodging that fast doesn't take long to wear out even the strongest of fighters no matter how much stamina they have.
Ignoring the painful aches in my legs and arms I go to the weapons room grabbing swords, daggers, guns, bows, arrows and other weapons and ammo of my favorite kind and carefully balance them all in my arms as to not drop anything. At a snails pace I'm able to walk out of the room kicking the door closed behind me and walk up the stairs straight to my bedroom. Gently I place the pile on my bed then grab my enchanted backpack placing everything inside of it as my face shows the amazement I feel everytime I use this specific bag. "Rex!" I shout once all the weapons and ammo are in the bag, the green mini dragon flies into the room looking curious til he notices the backpack. He knows what it is and as is our routine, he peeks into the bag searching slowly and carefully for any trace of a weapon. Staring at his green face expectantly he finally nods meaning the magic is working correctly, hiding all weapons, a smile creeps onto my face as I suddenly grab the fat tiny creature and shove him into the backpack. Rex is so stunned by what happened he didn't have time to think before I zipped him up making sure he wasn't too big to fit in with the rest of my stuff. Frantic angry chirping comes from the backpack as it moves around from the mini dragon fighting, making me hold in a giggle. Curious as to what he'll do I let him squirm around for a good ten minutes til I notice the zipper slightly move, focusing on it a tiny claw peeks out struggling to push the zipper up, slowly opening the backpack til half of Rex is showing then I sigh and unzip it completely freeing the now very pissed off hybrid.
"Chill out. I had to see if you would fit in there, I'm going to have to bring you with me and you'll need to stay in this backpack for a little while." His anger instantly vanished replaced with glee, overly excited he'll be with me the entire time and it's also the first time he will be on a mission with me. "There's plenty of food in here you can e-" My phone starts to ring cutting me off mid sentence. Pulling it out of my pocket my face lights up as Matt's name flashes on the screen. "Got good news for me?"
He chuckles. "As long as you're paying the vampires to probably beat them up, then I have a group ready to go anytime."
"Great! Have them meet me ten miles from Blood Moon territory tomorrow afternoon. That should give them enough time to get in a little bit of sleep before setting off about twelve hours away."
"Got it." With that we both hang up. I have time to get a little sleep before I need to leave. Putting my phone next to my bed, I plop down on the comfortable mattress my mind racing with anticipation of tomorrow, before I'm quickly dragged into sleep from the fatigue of my extra long intense workout Rex snuggles up next to me.
