Ye Sha hopped on his little electric scooter and hit the road under the scorching sun.
Though it was midday rush hour, the streets weren’t crowded. Many residents were likely staying home out of fear of the growing supernatural phenomena.
“What’s the point of hiding? Didn’t I get targeted at home just last night?” Ye Sha muttered to himself, letting out a sigh.
He understood why people were being cautious—everyone was simply trying to survive. But the supernatural world was terrifyingly pervasive; nowhere was truly safe from its reach.
Lost in his thoughts, Ye Sha soon arrived at his workplace. After parking his scooter, he entered the building and took the elevator.
After graduating from college without finding a job in his field, he decided to apply here since he enjoyed working out. To his surprise, he got hired.
The gym was large and professional, with a capable team of trainers. It was a respectable establishment.
After the supernatural incidents began, many office workers stopped going to their jobs. Feeling stifled at home, they flocked to the gym to relieve stress and relax. Business was booming, and with Ye Sha’s good looks and solid skills, he naturally became a top performer.
After clocking in for his missed shift, Ye Sha stepped into the gym. A few colleagues waved at him as they coached their clients.
Standing at the front desk was a stunning woman with a fiery presence. Her tall, toned figure exuded an irresistible allure, with curves that could leave anyone breathless. Dressed in a sporty jacket and yoga pants, her shapely legs and perfect hourglass figure caught everyone’s eyes.
This was none other than the gym’s owner, Liu Yuning!
Ye Sha immediately felt awkward, covering his face as he tried to sneak towards the locker room.
He didn’t dare face his beautiful boss. For some reason, this woman always enjoyed teasing him.

When the boss gave an order, no employee dared to refuse. Ye Sha reluctantly followed behind her, inadvertently catching a glimpse of her… curves.

“So, what’s going on with you? Need some sick leave?” she asked, her tone more concerned than reprimanding.
“I’m much better now. Just caught a bit of a cold from the AC,” Ye Sha replied, surprised at her kindness. He’d expected a lecture since this was his first time skipping work in a year.
“Supernatural incidents have been increasing in Jiangyang City. Why don’t you stay here instead of going home?”
Her suggestion wasn’t a joke. Their gym was located in a bustling commercial area, with a police station right across the street. The location felt relatively safe.
“Boss, I appreciate your concern, but where would I even stay?” Ye Sha chuckled nervously. He knew firsthand that the police were powerless against supernatural entities.
“Upstairs, of course. I’ve got plenty of spare rooms…”
Liu Yuning gave him a playful smile, clearly teasing him.
Not only was she the gym’s owner, but she was also the landlord of the entire building. The top floor was her private residence—a luxurious home owned by a glamorous, wealthy woman.
Ye Sha froze, stammering awkwardly, “I… I don’t think that would be appropriate…”
“Hahaha!”
Liu Yuning laughed, her charming voice filling the room. She was clearly amused by Ye Sha’s shy reaction.
The sight of her laughing figure left Ye Sha momentarily stunned. Those mesmerizing curves were enough to daze anyone. Afraid of giving in to his instincts, he quickly averted his eyes.
“Alright, alright, I’m just kidding. The internet company on this floor shut down, so I’m converting their space into employee dorms. You can move in when it’s ready and save some money,” she explained.
The office space next door had belonged to a tech company, but they went under after the supernatural incidents scared their employees away.
“Uh… sure, I’ll think about it,” Ye Sha replied, still hesitant. He had secrets of his own, so he couldn’t make decisions lightly.
Liu Yuning wasn’t happy with his vague answer. Just as she was about to persuade him further, a series of urgent knocks came from outside the office.
“Liu Jie, something’s happened!”
It was Xiao Liu, the front desk receptionist, shouting in alarm.
