In a Fling to become the next heir to his father's multi-billion dollar business, Alex must bend down to his father's will and fulfill the marriage right. Alex's arrogance preceded him like a shadow, casting a pall over his interactions with others, he flaunted his riches shamelessly, surrounding himself with luxury and extravagance at every turn. As an only child he made his father proud which in most cases seemed awkward. Alex was not a preacher of love, he had ladies trooping in and out of his mansion, now he has to take in a woman as his wife in order to please his father as he has always done.

Days turned into weeks and weeks into moths, his father's impatience grew on him, he continues to assure that soon enough he's going to bring his girlfriend whom he has been dating for a while, he lied. He thought of the impossibility of getting married, in his head it was like being trapped in the clutches of a woman, waking up to the same person everyday cringed him. To clear his head from the back and forth , he decided to take a walk down the aisle into the streets, when a girl came running as if being chased by mobsters bumped into him, spilling the liquid in her hands on to his clothes, he was furious, the rage in his eyes was piercing, she noticed what she had done, went down on her knees and cleaned.

Looking down at her, he soon thought of her as the perfect match for the job, A Contract Marriage. Her display of apology seemed to him naive and submissive. Her name was Lisa Williams. She had asked how she would make it up to him, he took her to a nearby restaurant and offered her forty thousand dollars , which she refused and demanded for a hundred thousand dollars to play his girlfriend and wife, divorce after a month and live their normal lives. Lisa on the other hand trying to save her family from a huge debt accepted the juicy offer. It was a sealed contract.

She arrives the mansion of the Mason's. She thought of herself in a fantasy world. First time meeting the most influential billionaire family, if she gets approved by his father then her debt owing life has finally come to an end, but everything takes a different turn when Alex's father Leonard Mason offers to see her family, her father was dead and left them huge debts to pay, her mother worked at a coffee shop,. Her heart skipped, she lied her parents were business moguls in real estate, Alex soon thought of a plan. Parents for Hire.

The contract agreement was never to fall in love, it wasn't a big deal for Alex, he had never really loved a girl, caught in the web of his own arrogance there wasn't a path for love to flow in, but would it be the same with Lisa. Soon his heart started longing for her, he couldn't explain what was happening to him, Lisa too started falling in love with Alex. Somehow the universe brought two people to become lovers. Would they let love get the best of them or would they deny the feelings they have for each other.

Chapter1
He sat and watched the trees from his balcony, sipping a cup of black coffee. The kisses of the morning sun soon blinded him, birds traveling here and there making unending noises. The morning air smelled of goodness. He was in his white robe holding a New York Times magazine to his face. His maid gave a final dust on his black tuxedo hanging on the silver rail in his bedroom. The day made him happy. He was elated because the day had finally come when his father would hand over his multi-billion dollar company to him. Soon, his assistant Cory Wilson arrives at the premises, ready for him to leave for the billionaire Mason's mansion. He put on his Italian black tuxedo, excellent in his style, his gold wristwatch with a touch of silver shinny head and diamond stones hovering around it. It was a present from his father on his thirtieth birthday, his shiny black shoes worn with so much pride, his stylist had finished with him and the outcome was superb. He couldn't wait to meet his father and hear the good news. It was time he had made him proud enough not to become the heir to the throne, with how strict and stern Leonard Mason was. His driver was waiting for him in a black limousine, rushing down with so much excitement boiling inside him, he opened the car by himself and got in, followed by Cory. It left the driver stunned and confused for a short time and they zoomed off. The Mason's Mansion was a luxury to behold, the extravagance of the building could kill one's confidence, the use of gold was very pronounced and servants lurking around in and out minding their respective jobs. He got out of his car, of course, his mom being the first to welcome him wasn't a surprise. She went down the steps leading to the door, "Hello Alex dear, my son". Her smile was peaceful, he walked towards her "Hello Mom". He walked beside her, making his way through into the mansion. She stood there not surprised but disappointed that he hadn't changed a bit. She wasn't expecting him to change either. The double door was opened by each of the two servants that stood beside it like statues, hands behind them, faces lifted like a molded figure, they both wore uniforms that mimicked captain's uniforms, only that they were servants. Cory stood by the car observing as usual and alert because his boss needed him. Alex was an epitome of arrogance and pride, with a demeanor as cold as the steel of the skyscrapers he owned. He treated everyone around him with disdain, his words dripping with sarcasm and contempt. To him, the world was merely a stage for his own grand performance and everyone else were insignificant extras. He would bark orders at his employees, belittling them with insults if they dared to question his authority. His temper was legendary, and he thought nothing of publicly humiliating those who crossed him. Despite his vast riches, Alex was still hungry for extra wealth. He walked to the sitting room. It was a vast one. Opulence meets supreme, gold features gleam and glisten under the warm glow of crystal chandeliers. The walls adorned with intricate gold leaf designs and plush velvet sofas in deep hues of burgundy and navy invite guests to sink into luxury. It's a space where wealth meets refinement and every element whispers of success and power. There was a glass of wine on the table beside Leonard. He had just concluded with his lawyer when Alex walked in. He had decided to retire at seventy-one. Leonard was strong, stern and strict, he was a man of his word. If straightforwardness was human, it'd be him. He trained Alex to be like him, proud and arrogant. Alex was always called "A chip of the old block" by his father's friends. I concluded with my lawyer, Barrister Jones.DJones was called his full name even though Alex knew him since he was a kid. He continued "I wish to retire and hand over my company to you fully, but..." Alex was at the edge of his seat waiting to hear the rest, "but only if you get married" Alex's countenance fell, since when did his father care about him being married or not, he didn't seem to understand the sentence that had just dropped "only if you get married" Barrister Jones bent his face as though he had given advice to Leonard, he looked up again, his eyes meeting with Alex's eyes. Your mother and I are due to become grandparents, find a wife and take over my company. For the meantime, I'll assign my general manager to take care of things over there" Alex flared up, hitting the glass of wine over on the ground. "How could you Dad, how could you, after all my efforts, part of that company's success was me, me" "since when did you care about me getting married." Leonard got up. "Since now, get a wife and run the company" he walked out. Alex turned to his mom, looking at her with so much rage in his eyes. "You knew this was what he called me to say, right", he banged the table with his hands "damn", putting both his hands on his head. Rumpling his hair, hands down on his waist, back to his head now on his chin. "I made it clear to you both, I don't need a wife in my life" Leonard, coming back downstairs, stood at the last step "you have four weeks to find yourself a woman to marry, or I'll get one for you" he left finally in his black tinted ranger rover, he was going golfing. "Son, Love is a beautiful thing, and you might just find the one that lifts your heart" she tried touching his face. He smacked her hands and banged the door. His driver immediately sensed his anger and opened the door quickly. He was furious.
