Drinking habits
—
Pacing back and forth I looked up the stairs again, Mary was still not down yet. “Mary will you hurry up, please!” I shouted.
I had been down here waiting for her about a lot of minutes, even though she kept shouting she was almost done I knew that was a lie.
Trying to calm my nerves I poured myself a glass of scotch, bringing the glass to my mouth I took a huge sip. Finishing the first glass I poured myself a second glass.
As I heard foot steps approaching I turned only to come facing Mary, fully dressed at last. “Anxiety drinking. It doesn’t look good on you cousin, what’s bothering you.” Mary asked walking into the kitchen as well.
Disagreeing with her I shook my head, this was not anxiety drinking. “I’m not, Just drinking to get loosen up.” it was just for fun no harm done.
Mary hummed in response, “Sure you are, shall we get going then?” she asked getting a hold of her purse once again. Tossing her the keys I smiled faintly, “You’re driving.” I finished up the remaining scotch, leaving the glass cup on the counter we walked out.
As Mary drove up to the club I kept conjuring different ways on how to explain, our not so planned meet up. The end result of everything was I was a stalker.
Pulling up to the club Mary Parker our car. I looked up to the line of people my anxiety immediately began to skyrocket when I thought of Abigail, this was a horrible idea.
Mary placed her hand over my thigh squeezing, looking up to her our eyes locked. “Breath please and just have fun. You look like you’re about to have a heart attack.” She spoke.
“Well cause I am, I think this was a bad idea, I shouldn’t be doing this. It’s stepping out of line.” I confessed, all this was getting me so over worked.
Mary patted my leg one more time, “You finally realised too late though. Sorry but I’m not leaving without partying.” with that she got out of the car.
Trying to control my breathing I followed Mary out the car. At an instant to cool breeze of the night embraced me, narrowing my eyes at Mary I spoke. “You’re so motivational.”
She shook it off intertwining my hand in hers. “I know. Now let’s get our party on.” she dragged me towards the club doors.
The loud music played through the speakers as we walked through the doors. Lights flashed through the room, red, blue and all sorts.
Mary and I pushed through the dancing bodies making our way to the bar. “Two shots of your strongest alcohol, please.” Mary ordered, with a nod the bartender disappeared.
Taking my seat I looked at Mary, “You’re going to start your night with taking shots?” I asked. My eyes scanning the room for the Abigail.
Giggling in my ear she threw her arm over my shoulder. “Oh no honey, those shots are for you. I’m going to have a proper drink.”
Looking over my shoulder I hissed. “I’m perfectly comfortable and calm!” Mary shook her head.
she moved her arm from my shoulder grabbing the shots from him she winked. The guy shyly smiled before walking away.
Turning back to me she handed the shots. “You’re not loosen up. Now drink.” Taking a sniff from of the shots I looked back at Mary curious. “This is vodka. Do you want me to pass out before I talk to her.”
“Don’t be a baby, you won’t pass out and like—” she stopped talking as the bartender returned with her drinm, grabbing the glass from him she thanked him. “Thank you.”
Then she started flirting with guy, taking my attention else where I brought the glass to my lips. Throwing it into my mouth the liquid burnt my throat as it went down, making a bitter face I drunk the next.
Placing the glasses down I looked at Mary, she was now drinking from her glass with a smile.
“What’s that?” I asked pointing at her glass.
“A mimosa.” She took another delighted sip from her glass.
I looked at her fuzzed, “You got yourself a cocktail but ordered me two shots of vodka?”
“Sounds just about right, Any problems? Did you want more shots?” She drunk from her glass again but this time with a big smile on that annoying face of hers.
Of course I want more who wouldn’t it’s free. A bloody Mary or a Martini would do maybe even a Bellini. “I want a cocktail not vodka shots. At least if I’m having shots, you should do them with me.” I shrugged in my seat.
“Cry baby, Where’s this lady you’re waiting for.” she asked while finishing off her cocktail, calling over the bartender to refill her glass and got me a Bellini.
“Can I buy you ladies a drink.” A masculine voice interrupted us, his eyes fixed on Mary.
She turned and faced him with her cocktail in hand, “Thank you but no, we’ve got drinks.” she raised her glass eye level showing him, I watch the two with the glass on my lips.
“Then a dance, just one.” this dude was desperate. Mary looked at me for some kind of help but I just looked away, not getting in the middle of that. What a fun show this is to watch.
Mary was a bit hesitant to answer but she finally did, “Just one. Hold my drink.” She handed me her cocktail then walked away with the guy to the dance floor.
Still scanning the room again for Abigail. My eyes finally found Abigail laughing and drinking with two other girls on one of the tables.
My heart started racing once I landed on her, she looked stunning everything about her was.
I felt a hand on my shoulder looking up I saw Mary. “I’m back, worse dance ever. So what did I miss cousin, is she here yet?” she got her cocktail from my hands while taking a seat.
Sipping from her glass she looked at me again, too curious. “Who are you looking at.” looking the direction I was fixed at she also spotted Abigail, a wide smile came on her face.
Cupping her face I forced her to look at me. “No one.”
Pointing the direction of Abigail she asked. “Is that her, damn she fine.” giving her a small nod yes Mary got out of my grip walking to Abigail, and I couldn’t stop her.
