Admirer

“Hello ladies.” A female voice greeted us, both of us looked up to find a lady in a black dress like mine but it had long sleeves, it complimented her perfectly.
“Hello?” both my friends greeted her back, but their tone seemed rather confused and questioning. I felt both their eyes on me, I gave them both an I don’t know look.
I faced the lady again, before I returned her hie I sat upright, “Hello.”
She gave me a light smile before she sat down beside me, “I just bring news. I’m Mary, pleasure to meet you.” she spoke as she faced me, a smile upon her face. She looked past Riley as though there was looking at someone. I tried to look that way but Mary got a hold of my shoulder.
I looked from her hand on my shoulder to her face, she noticed them moved her hand. I sat the way I did before and she took a sip from her glass, “My cousin likes you and has told me so much about you, I just came to see for myself and lord you’re stunning.”
I watched my two friends from the corner of my eyes as they smiled and mumbled stuff, I did not want to pay attention to. “Thank you, you’re quite stunning yourself but who do you mean by your cousin, do I know him or something?” I asked.
“Abby you didn’t tell us you have admirers now.” Riley commented, both her and her girlfriend giggled so did our guest. I glared at my friend’s, “because I don’t.” I hissed at them.
Jess cleared her throat which made me look at her, she was smirking at me, “Sounds like you do, she’s the evidence and we’re the witnesses.”
I rolled my eyes at them then took a huge sip from my glass, “Yeah yeah, so Mary who is he.” I asked gaining her attention back, she smirked. What ever it was with people smirking today had to stop, “Oh honey, you’re asking the wrong question. It’s a she, who is she.” her tone was full of happiness and pride for this cousin of hers.
“Who is she then?” I was more interested in this conversation than the beginning of it, I really wanted to know who she was. Riley reached out across the table placing her hand on top of mine, “Calm down, she’ll tell you.” I wish I could wipe away that silly grin on her face.
Mary’s index finger pointed over Riley’s shoulder, which made of us turn searching for her cousin. “She’s actually over there on the bar. Josie, her name is Josie.”
I turned to Mary confused, “Wait what! Her name is Josie, Josie—”
“Yes, Josie Grey.” she said while nodding her head up and down, a wide smile on her face. “She works here?” I found myself asking Mary.
“No. We’re just here to have fun.”
“Oh Josie is here, this will be fun.” Jess said as she leaned her head on Riley shoulder, they are so going to embarrass me when she comes over that’s for certain.
“We would like to meet her, please call her over.” Riley asked Mary with a pout, Mary didn’t even hesitate was already up.
Moments later, after me trying to convince my two big mouthed friends to behave. Mary returned with Josie and cocktails for all of us, they hand us both a glass before they sit and guess who Josie sat next to, yeah me.
“Hello, nice to meet you both.” she shook both Jess and Riley’s hand before turning and facing me, “And Abigail it’s always a pleasure.” I heard a few mumbles from the three on the other side of the table, I chose to ignore.
“I’m Riley and this is my girlfriend, Jess.” Riley introduced herself as well as her girlfriend to Josie, the smiles on their faces where still very much annoying.
“Oh I forgot to mention the cocktails are a courtesy of Josie.” Mary spoke breaking down the silence that was clearly evident. A spark appeared in both the couples eyes, what could I say, they were fools for free drinks.
“I like her already, keep her for us will you.” Jess maked a remark which got big head nod from Riley, these two were made for each other. “Bellini’s, I like her too. Abby babe, you should definitely keep this one.”
I looked at Riley with a tilted head, “Mmm, the last one also brought you drinks and where is she now?”
Silence filled the table as my two friends looked at me worried, I shrugged then took a sip out of my glass avoiding all their eyes.
“Babe, I love this song. Let’s dance.” Jess dragged Riley to the dance floor before I could even object to them leaving me, and it was a total lie they didn’t know the song.
“I’ll be going to get a refill now.” we heard Mary in from us then she was off, okay now I get what they where doing.
“So your friends, it was nice to meet them.” Josie broke off the silence, I looked at her then gave her a nod before continuing what was doing, avoiding her. Josie then continued speaking, “You party often?” she sounded nervous which was a first for me.
“No, first time doing this.” she did not say anything after that, she was playing with the her glass. “Why are you here, are you stalking me?” I meant it in form of a joke, but the way she looked at me seemed like she would have a panic attack.
“No—I’m not, it’s just a coincidence.” she stuttered which was sort of funny, and I couldn’t help it but giggle. “I’m joking geez, you should have seen your face.” I said in between laughter.
“You where about to give me a heart attack.” she said while leaning back on the chair, I laughed even louder. “Well I heard you agreed, thanks for that.”
I sat upright straightening myself up, “You could never have too much money.” I began drinking from my cup again.
“Yeah and you just want to be around me.”
I snored at the remark, how could that cocky Josie be back so soon. “Really? Right now, here?”
She looked around then back at me, “Well yes, you accused me of stalking. How sure am I that you are not the one stalking me.” she smiled at me then brought her glass to her lips.
“Cause I would rather die.” I mumbled trying to search for anyone I knew, and no one was in sight so frustrating.
I looked back to Josie her eyes where on a couple on the dance floor dancing the night away, she caught me staring, I looked away immediately.
“Dance with me.” she extended her left hand in front of me.
I looked at her up and down, “What, no!” I don’t dance for a reason, I can’t dance at all I think.
“Come on, just one Abigail.” she stood beside me, “Please!” she pouted it was to adorable.
I pushed her out of the way, when I was in front of her I grabbed her hand. “Fine just one.” I dragged us to the dance floor, she smirked like a big fool when she saw my hand in hers, a small smirk over took my own lips.
