Last Minute Preparations

The fated day arrived. I got downstairs to breakfast, and the omegas were in a frenzy, I almost bumped too three of them, maybe my lack of sleep also, to many things happening tonight. I took the seat next to my parents.

“Sweety, ready to go with me and the girls shopping for the dress?” I just shrug my shoulders. “You know, you may not be happy about your Chosen Mate but some of us are, so respect for your future Luna.” I just rolled my eyes at Taya. “Cannot wait to go shopping with you all.” Sarcasm all over my voice. “One more night Aleena, and you will bow to me.” She snarls.  “Sureeeee” ‘B.t.h’ Orianna growls.

“Get ready after breakfast we must go shop for the dresses and come back to help you all prepared.” Mom shouts to all. The conversation passed to what type of dress the b.t.h wants because she will be Luna and so on. I doze on the conversation. I got up to put on some comfortable clothes just to go shopping.

‘Have a nice shopping spree, Sis.’ My happy brother on a not so happy head of mine. ‘Growl’ Laughs ‘Grumpy, think of getting the dress for the most important moment of your big brother.’ Pretending to be mad. ‘You don’t deserve it.’

‘The best day of my life, and I want my little Sis to be happy for me.’ Sadness ‘I could be buying the dress for the moment my brother gets expelled from the pack.’ Softened voice. ‘Either way, I will be with my True Mate, so get dress lovely for me.’ My brother was happy either way. ‘Alright, I will try to dress up.’

‘Love you, Sis.’

‘Yeah, love ya also.’

I got down to see everyone already waiting.

“Always the last Brielle, even on the Mate.” Tory the T’s all laugh.  I just gave her a big evil smile. ‘Just wait if you think my brother will mate you.’

In the shopping everyone rushed to find the perfect dress, the T’s went to a very know fashion brand shop, me, Aslin, Lin went with my mother to another shop, that my mother knew.  Lin found a Blue Satin Long V-Neck Dress, perfect for her, Aslin found a Neiman Marcus Sweetheart Neckline Ball Gown in a dark navy blue, and I was not in the mood to find a dress, but my mom was getting on my nerves, so I pick up a black lace vintage dress, that had a skirt until the knees and another layer of lace dress on top of that that did a V on the back, The neckline was covered with lace also but sleeveless.

I saw my Mom twisting her nose at the dress because it was too short. I rest my case, is this one or nothing.

“Are sure, you want it black, why not red, or yellow.” Asli with a final try, to make me use color. I lift an eyebrow at her. “Aleena, it almost looks like you are going to a funeral.” Mom also tries to change my mind. “Great, then it is decided this is the one.” They all looked at me like I did not just compare the Chosen Mate Ball to a funeral. We went to the food court while mom went to help the T group, to see if she can worry them up.

“Sooooo, Lin.” She looked at me suspiciously. “If you could choose your mate, would you be with Theo? Not that he is not a great guy, but if it were your choice, not the Alpha.” We could all see her blush hard. Asli even smiled, couching her. “Lin, slip.”Lin looks at me, the most embraced look ever. I get it I would also feel self-conscious by saying that I like the brother of the person in front of me. “I would choose Alan.” She covered her face, hoping we did not hear that.

There were some smirks between me and Asli. “He would be a lucky wolf to have you I am sure.” That made her smile like the sun. Young Love, and True Mates. “You Asli?” Her eyes went sad.  “Remember back in kindergarten when you first told us about our scents?” I nod. “Even back then I was already in love with Alec, but since that time Taya glued to him, and started giving me nasty looks even pushing me, and always found a way to be between us too. I never got a chance to get near him, I was hoping and believing that the Mate Bond was real, and he would be mine but.” Eyes watering. “Asli, I am so sorry.”

We got close to her and hugged her. “Aleena, the moment he accepts Taya as his Luna and Mate, will I have a second chance? Do you think after Alec, I still could find the Destined Mate that you talk about?” I looked at her straight in the eyes. “If you trust me, I am sure you will find him, but there is still hope.” Nodding no, “She already as him by the body. I catch them rubbing against one another in the wall way these days, seems because there were more girls around she scrubbed herself in him, to mark territory.” Doing a gross face.

“They can’t do anything until the Ball.” I was still hoping that the Ball would change everything. “That did not stop her.” Reasoning. “If the Alpha tells he would have to be with you.”

“Who as to be with who??”  We got interrupted by the b.t.h herself.  We all stayed in silence. “Aleena, don’t you dare do anything at the Ball, Alec in Mine.” Growl “Not some second-rate wolf will get him.” I got up and in her face. “The only second-rate wolf here is you, do not put my friends down.” Putting her hair behind her. “Talking the one that got a pity mate, from another pack because no one in this one would want to be with you.”

“Girls Behave,” My mother got in the way, “time to get home and start preparing ourselves for the ball.” Talia moves away from me. “Yes, time for the Luna to prepare herself to be with her mate.” The T’s started walking to the door.

“Someday I am going to pounce that girl and bring that nose to the grown.” We all laugh at the image and went back to the packhouse.

I could hear the noise starting to form in the Ball, first is the dinner then the Ball itself. Looking at the dress that I did not want to put. Knock at the door. “Aleena are you ready.” Asli walked inside with Lin Behind. “You two look so beautiful.” They swirl around. “Yeah, we know.” Looking at me intensely. “Why are you still not dressed so we can help you with your hair?”

Looking at the hands in my lap. “I don’t want to go.” Both got one at each side of me. “Is not going to be that bad Aleena.” Sighs “We know you believe in true mates and all, but maybe Ames is not a bad guy.” I know they are trying to help me but, “I don’t want someone choosing my mate.”

Looking at each other. Another knock on the door. “Ready Sis.” His eyes widen, he smiled at Lin, that smiled back, “Why are you not dressed?” Asli got up, “Try to convince your sister to go.” She picks Lin's arm. “We will be right outside, call us when she is ready.” He nodded his head at them walking out the door. “Sis. Wanna tell me what is going on?”  I started pacing. “I don’t want to go. I don’t want to get a mate, this is wrong, Mates should be found not put together by an Alpha.” Crossing arms over his chest. “You already put together a pair and are helping another to get together.” I fulminate him with a look until he gets his hands up. “That is different Alan, I just put them face to face, the mate bond does the rest, is not like this, where another person makes you stay with someone for life.” Coming next to me making me sit on the bed again. “You know why it is this way.” I sigh. “They all stopped believing in the Moon Goddess, but it was our fault that the Mate Bond became a myth, we hide, we broke the mate with this thing.”

Putting his arm over my shoulder, “I need my sister with me today. Aleena, will you dress and come down for me, maybe everything will come back to place after what I am about to do.” Getting my head off his shoulder.  “You never told me what you are going to do.” Big smile, “Promise not to tell Lin?” Rolling eyes “I am your sister. You can trust me.”

“I am going to ask her to marry me.” He shows me the box with a ring that had the drawings of the heads of two wolfs, howling at a big diamond rock in the center. “That is perfect.” Closing the box and putting away. “Do you think she will say yes?” Smiling. “Getting worried now, after buying that ring? She would be mad to say no. You are perfect.” Getting up gives his hand. “Will you have the pleasure of helping your brother out in all of this?” I gave him my hand and nod. “Let’s go.” The girls got back inside and help me get ready, and in half an hour I was ready to get down.
