Nightfall Pack

1491 Words
In the Office of the Nightfall Pack, father and son were having a reunion. Sitting at the enormous desk, Alpha was trying to define the future of the pack.  “One more year my son, and you will be the new Alpha.”  “Yes, Father.”The excitement in his voice was tangled with fear.  “Have you already chosen your mate?”   Seeing his son in front ready to take his place the ancient fear arises. His face became pale looking at his son. “You know what I think about the Chosen Mates. I want what you and Luna have.” Sighs. Is not easy to find True Mates, and our pack is trying to change that since I found mine.   “Not everyone is lucky like us.” The mood became light and curious.   “You never told me how you were able to find Luna after Mom died.”  Remembering a few years ago still gives mixed feelings about everything. “We had a little help, you were too little to remember this, your mother was my chosen mate, we were happy and respectable, but I never felt complete, there was still a missing spot in me, but she was my rock that time, the rogues attacking more and more, there are still a lot of lonely wolfs that go crazy, still a lot that decide to go and try to find their mate in the wild, with no pack, but never find and go crazy. Her death was a breaking point for me.” Looking at the boy almost adult in front. ”I am still sorry at this point that I was not more supportive after your Mom died. I just broke down, and I didn’t want to choose another person, but the pack needed a new Luna, for them was difficult, and as an Alpha, I knew I needed someone to keep me sane.”   “What happened?” Eyes with curiosity.  Taking a deep breath. “I was trying not to lose my sanity, so I decided to always release my wolf before everyone woke up. We just ran in the forest. One day we ran too far and went to a field full of flowers, I never once saw that field in my runs, so maybe I was too far away, my wolf was turning to return when we heard a cry. He sniffed around a little and found a little girl crying near an old tree on the end of the field. He carefully approached her. She did not see us coming near, her head was on her knees and her arms around them. When he muffled on her head, she just got her head up, her eyes were crying,  her arms got around my nose, and she continued crying. I could tell she was not from our pack so the mind link will never work, so I had nothing else to do but stay there and let her cry. I was already lying down in front of her, she fell asleep still clutching on me, so I had to mind link my Beta to take over today, that I was not feeling well. After a few hours she woke up, and found me there just looking at her, she released me, and started talking to me.” -----FlashBack----- “Oh Hello Wolfie, you’re not from my pack are you. Sorry for the snot on your fur. Are you friendly?” Wolf nods his head. “You are so big, I bet you are the bigger of your pack.” Another nod, then the wolf goes near and muffles her face. “Wanna know why I was crying.” Her face turns sad. A vigorous nod. “No one believes in me.” Tears are starting to come to her eyes again. A long look. “Don’t tell anyone okay.” Cleaning the tears with her sleeves.  A nod. “I can smell the wolves, I can scent the smells that are the same. You know like, you now smell of Laburnum Tree and Grapefruit, I can smell the other wolves too, and sometimes wolves have the same smell, and I tell them, but they say that is wrong to tell that. Why is it wrong? No one tells me why, just that it is? But I can still smell them. After the Ball, the smell changes, and they have the same smell as the person they are now. I don’t understand and no one explains to me, they just say that is wrong.” Looking at the wolf waiting for a reaction. A strong look, and a muffle. “Do you have a mate?” Small smile. A slow nod. “I promise if I find your scent, I will tell you. If I tell you, will you believe me?” Putting her hands on the wolf paws.  A nod. “Thank you wolfie. I need to get back home, do you know how to go back?” Big smile. A long sniff in the hair, and a sneeze. “With pollen is difficult. Where did you come from the forest?” Looking around. Looking around and pointed the nose to an entrance near an oak tree. “Ok, that means the East. Hmm the border ends near a stump tree that had to be cut down by the packs, because it was too old, is easy to spot. “ Big smile and puffy eyes. A look and before going. “Oh Wolfie, if I find your scent how will I find you?” Her hand was on her chin like she was thinking.  Tilting the big wolf head looking. “Oh oh I got an idea, do you plant trees?” Suddenly jumping on the same spot. A nod. “Remember the name I told you about your smell, the Laburnum Tree, plant one in the place of the Stump Log, and when I find someone I would go there and put a ribbon on it, after you find the ribbon, come to the flower field every Saturday.” A big nod, and a smile. A big lick on the girl's face. Running away. -----End Flashback------ “Wait, you mean that yellow tree?” His face lit up.  “The flowers are Yellow. How do you know that you have been running too far? I told you it is still dangerous to run near the borders.” Nowadays everyone is an enemy.  “Dad did that girl have blonde hair? “ Looking at him confused about the conversation now.  I nod yes. “I think I already met her.” His father's eyes widened, never expecting that. Telling him to continue. “When I was 15 I was running, got lost, found a girl on a flower field picking up violets, she was the most beautiful girl I ever met, but after that day, every time I went there I never saw her again.”  “I never got her name, I never could try to find her after to say thank you for helping me.”  With enthusiasm, “I remember, her name was Aleena.” “Aleena, maybe I can still find her.” Hopping to get the chance to say thanks, if it is the same person.  “Dad, that field is on Lagoona Pack territory, right?” Thinking aloud.  “That is right, we don’t have a good relationship with that pack, if she is from there, then I don’t have a way to know.” The next words were a shock.   “Dad, I think she might be my Mate.” After a few seconds of silence. “Your wolf is not an adult for you to say that.”   He gives a smirk at his father. “Yes, but when I was with her, it fell right, fulfilling. I promised her I would come back for her after my 18th birthday.” Maybe she was the cure to all the problems.  “Son, if she is not your Mate, are you going to choose her? How would you know she is not mated with someone?”  His smile was full of happiness. “I promised I would come for her, so I will come. I may not have the recognition of the Mate Bond, but I am sure, she is the one. She wants Destined mates also.” It was not impossible, but, “Still one year to go, maybe it is better if I try to make some type of alliance with that pack before you go kidnap one of their members.” Laughing.  “I can help you, as future Alpha e must understand the alliance.”  Smirking at his son. “You just want to go see if you can spot her.” Making the son blush.
