List of Chosen Mates

This week was the most horrible of all times. I had Alpha Oscar, sending everywhere with the members of the Lowlands Pack. I had to go on walks with the un-mated males, made them diner, show the pack around, have dates??, I even had to do laundry like omegas. I was being shown to the males, and I had to keep my head down all the time. My brother did not like the way I was being treated like an object to be sold, but after the first time, he spoke he was stopped by the Alpha voice.

Alpha Glen and Luna Mikaela did not like that either, I could see them looking from the side to Alpha Oscar sometimes. The only times I had to myself these days, were when Luna Mikaela asked me for something, and Alpha Oscar could not refuse her, she would take me to her bedroom and let me rest, or sometimes we go for runs in the woods in wolf form.

The first time Luna Mikaela saw my wolf form, she gasped, I was bigger than her, but she did not say a word she just admired me, and after the run, she came up to me and said I have a beautiful and powerful wolf, that made my wolf howl in my head.

There are two days until the Chosen Mate Ball, and everyone is running around doing preparations Luna Mikaela asked me for help choosing a gown for the evening. I am now in her bedroom.

“What do you think of this?” She shows me the 25 dress that she picks up from her closet, why did she bring so many dresses for one week. “Is beautiful like the last 24.” I sigh laying down on the bed.  “I know but it was to be more, I need the OOOHHH factor, it’s a big event.” I got up. “Do you mind if I look?” She steps aside am lets me see the dresses. “Yes, go ahead.”

I don’t understand why and how we got this close, but it seems natural with Luna Mikaela, and the fact that she knows my secret, makes me keep my guards down. I look around her dresses and catch a glimpse of a breath-taking blue navy beaded crepe cocktail dress with bateau neckline and tear back, I take that and show it to her.

“That Glen favorite color.” I smile at her. “He was a good taste.” She tilted her head to the side.  “Don’t you think is too much.”

“You wanted and OHHHH factor, this will do that. It’s a Ball, so enjoy it.” I know I said that but the emotion was not there, well for her it was, but for me, in two days my fate will be sealed. She senses the tension building up.

“Aleena, I know it not going to be easy for you and I know I speak by Glen also when I tell you, that you will always have us to help you.” She got to me and hugged me.  “It seems so easy with you too, why can’t it be like that with my pack and family.” I sigh. “You have a brother that believes in you.” She left the hug and look at me with determination. “Why can’t father and mother defend me also? Why did I have to be born in a pack that doesn’t believe in me?” She picks my cheek.  “The Moon Goddess always as a reason believe in her. I think your parent's support also, even if they do not show it to you, have some belief in them, they will never let anything wrong come to you.” I sight, then we hear a door knock.

“Everyone dressed in there, I only have eyes to my wife.” Alpha Glen voice from behind the door.  Luna Mikaela smiles nodding her head to me. He comes in.

“Did you find something to wear my dear?” Looking at all the dresses scattered around. “Yes, darling but you will find out only at the Ball.” She gave him a wicked smile. He smiles going close to her and giving her a light kiss, then they looked in the eyes and I bet the words in those heads were nothing for me to hear. Alpha Glen looked at me.

“Aleena, I need to talk to you.”

Luna Mikaela gave me her hand and we both sat on a storage bench at the feet of the bed.

“Alpha Oscar is asking me for the alignment of the couples for Ball.” I breathe deeply. “He wants to know who is the one that is going to be with me.” He nods. “I think that too. You know the reason we asked to be in this also.” I think of his pack members that I got to know this week. “If any of my unmated pack members have a Destined Mate, I want them to be with him or her, instead of me forcing them the chosen mate.” I smiled at Alpha Glen, I could see hope in his eyes while he talks to me.

 I wish my Alpha was like him, he and his Luna are not True Mates, but they still want the best for the ones that have the opportunity to find their mates.

“I can assure you, that most of them have.” They both looked at me, with so many emotions in their eyes. “Can you tell me who they are?” I was helping them.  “Better for you to write down, that way you can go and give your list to the Alpha.”

Luna Mikaela gave him a little notebook with the Pack symbol on it and a pen same symbol. I looked at her, she did not leave my side, where did she get those.

He got ready and I started giving him names. “Theodora and Verlin have the same apple scent.” I waited until he wrote and then continued. “Kana and Colden, Fig Scent. Karyme and Judd, Watermelon Scent. Trinidad and Otto, Apricot Scent. Olivia and Ritchie, Raspberry Scent. Avigail and Clemens, Avocado Scent. Glenda and Bruce, Pomegranate Scent. Those are all the ones that have mates.”

“That leaves Ames and Keavy out.” Said Luna Mikaela looking with sad eyes at Alpha Glen. “Are you sure they do not have mates?” Looking at me. Ames and Keavy are the ones that already lost their mates and came in hope of a second chance.

“Sorry I know all my pack scents, even the ones that lost their mates. I can’t find the scent that connects them.  Keavy smells Rose and Plum, and Ames Iron Wood and Olneya.”  She looks sad, and Alpha Glen was looking at the notebook. “This means I must put Ames as your mate in the list.” I shrug at the chills that run down my spine.

 I look at Alpha Glen, I know he saw a sadness in my eyes. “Don’t give up Allena is only a list.” He got to the door while Luna Mikaela hugs me. I could not bear it anymore. I cried my eyes out. Another knock on the door. This time was my brother.

“Aleena if you are ready, Alpha Oscar wants us all in the hall, to announce the pairs for the chosen ball.” He knew that I was with Luna Mikaela to relax from our Alpha projects. “I will come down in a bit.” I knew he saw my state.

“I will wait for you outside the door.” Closing the door, but I could still feel his presence on the other side to reassure me, he was there waiting.

“Be brave Aleena everything will be alright.” I got up and went to the door, I looked back. “Thank you, Luna Mikaela, for believing in me.”

“I am the one that must thank you, for helping my pack.” She gave me another hug.

I open the door and my brother gave me his hand. “Sis, no matter what the outcome of this I want you to know. I already accepted Lin as my mate.” I look up at him. “You have been busy. We are going to announce it at the Ball.” I stop on my track. “Wait. Why? Did you not tell the Alpha?”

“I tried but we said that my mate was already chosen I could not go against his will. I am going to do it in the chosen ball mate, in front of everybody and he will not be able to do anything.” He made up his mind. “Allan you can get kicked off the pack.” I was grabbing his arm. “That is a risk I am willing to pass by if I can be by her side.”  “Allan.” My voice disappeared and I started crying again, holding to his arm.  “Aleena, you help me find the only one for me, do not cry, we will be happy wherever we are.” He got his hands on my face and clean the tears. “Now get yourself together. I need my badass sister beside me.” I nod, clean my face, and went with him.

Once we got to the hall everyone was already there, this time only the families are there. We go near Mom and Dad, that looked at me with sad eyes, and gave me a big family hug. We are the only family here with a sad expression on their faces, the rest are giggling, jumping in excitement, and smiling. I envy the ignorance.

“Seems everyone is here.” Alpha Oscar came with a big smile on his face. Alpha Glen stayed beside him, respective Lunas on each side.

Everyone quiet down.

 “You all know why you are here, whenever I call your name you will give one step forward and stand in line.  First the Lowlands Pack unmated Wolfs.”

I was dozing off as he was saying the names. Verlin, Theodora, Colden, Kana, Judd, Karyme, Otto, Trinidad, Ritchie, Olivia, Clemens, Avigail, Bruce, Glenda.

“Now the Unmated from Lagoona Pack: Lewis, Asli, Brian, Tory, Alec, Taya, Alan, Talia, Theo, Lin. Not because they are the last one Aleena and Ames.” I did not move. My father gently touched my shoulder, I looked at the front, Alpha Oscar was looking intensely at me, I walked beside Ames.

“Unfortunately, Keavy from the Lowlands did not find someone this week, but we still hope she can find someone at the Ball, since not all of us are in the pack internal grounds, and some of our pack members are guards on patrol, they will come to the Ball also for a few hours.”

That made my eyes up again, I remembered, that I still had to put together a certain couple, or else it could also be ruin in that night.

“You still have two days to get to know each other, that it will not be any more surprises.” Glancing at Alan.  

He then waved for us to be dismissed. I dragged myself to my room in the packhouse, we all have rooms here, Ames was coming after me, but he got a mind link and went near Keavy and the others.

I got up to my room, sat down on my bed, and started thinking, I need a plan to get those two together. I mind link a certain someone. After I get the response I wanted, I then changed my clothes to sportswear clothes, and went silently down, not crossing with anyone. I got out of the packhouse and into the woods, I just mind linked my brother telling him I was going for a run, it was still day time, although it is already like 7 p.m. I run to that place to find him.
