Chapter 13: Getting to know Family

Cheyennes POV

Jarred is a total ass today. He told me to walk the north border with him. He always makes me feel weird, like he is watching me too close. If I didnt know better I would think he wanted me as his mate. 'Cheyenne how are you today' Jarred mink links me. I roll my eyes and try to keep calm. 'Fine but I think I caught a scent up ahead' I say though our link and his wolf growls. 'Dont worry about. Its not our area and its not over our border' he says. I walk closer to the border and see a black tail retreating away. 'I saw someone' I say while Jarred seems distracted my me. 'Like I said dont worry' he says and I cant help but worry just a little. Something seems off with everything.

Jaydens POV

Ever since learning about my half sister I have been wanting to talk to her. From what I heard she knew nothing about her family and was raised by a cousin or aunt who recently passed. ' Caleb have Cheyenne come to my office once she is off' I link to my Beta. 'Yes Alpha' Caleb links back. I cant help but get lost in a day dream. Yesterday with my mate was great. We finally got to have us time. Also Harmony was so exicted about the twins birthday. They turned one yesterday but she wanted to have a weekend party for them. She always made me smile when it came to how she adapted to everything. Soon i heard a knock on my office door. "Come in" I say as Cheyenne walks in. Based on the look on her face someone must have said she was in trouble. I could tell she was very nervous. "Cheyenne your not in trouble." I say hoping to ease her mind a little. "I have some information for you about your family" I say and her family looks a little confused. "Well I have been looking into your past. I like to know the wolfs working for me. And it turns out you are my half sister. " I say smiling. "That means your of alpha decent". I add as i wait for her reaction.

Cheyennes POV

"Well I have been looking into your past. I like to know the wolves working for me" Alpha Jayden said. 'Why do you think he was looking into my past' I ask my wolf Sky. 'I dont know' Sky says and I let out a small sigh. Jayden contiunes " and it turns out your my half sister" he says and my mind goes blank. I had wanted to know about my family for so long but I never expected this. 'I always told you we were special' Sky says. 'But an alpha?! That kind of changes everything Sky. That means I could be chosen to be alpha if something ever happened to Jayden. I don't want that' I say to Sky who chuckles at me. "Cheyenne?" Jayden says pulling me out of my mind. I look at him. "I'm in shock" I say still trying to process everything. " its awesome I have family and scary at the same time. I dont know if I want the pack to know yet" I say forgetting I was talking to my alpha. Jayden seemed to chuckle a little "of course when your ready let me know. Your Luna, the elders and my beta all know but they wont say anything" he says and I nod. "May I?" I half asking and Jayden nods. I walk out of the office. I needed to get some sleep because i was night patrol and sadly my night was going to come faster then I really wanted. 'Maybe I can ask about switching night patrol partners' I say to Sky. 'Why because Jarred is a total creep and a jerk' sky says and i cant help but chuckle. 'Im sure Jayden wouldnt mind you asking. He is your brother afterall' Sky adds as we enter my room. I have family and not the ones I thought I did.

Harmonys POV

I sat playing with the twins when I heard Jaydens office door. Curiosity got the better of me and I poked my head out to see who was leaving. I see Cheyenne walking down the hall towards her room. She seemed in a face and I was curious if Jayden talked to her. "Come pups" I say picking up Riley and grabbing Quintins hand. I walked towards Jaydens office and opened the door. Once I did I let go of Quintins hand and let him go to Jayden. Jayden smiled and picked Quintin up spinning him around causing him to giggle. "Did you talk to Cheyenne?" I say and Jayden nods before sitting down in his chair. "I told her and she seemed taken back a little. I think she thought she was in trouble at first. But she seemed to take it rather well" Jayden says giving me a smile. "Well I'm happy she didnt reject it" I say smiling. I had always wanted a sister and maybe once she accepted it I would get a sister.

A few days pasted since Jayden talked to Cheyenne. I saw her in the hall and called out to her. "Hello Cheyenne" I say and she stops and bows slightly. "Luna" she says and i smile. "i was wondering if you might join me. I would love to introduce you to my pups" I say and a few other wolves look at us. "Of course Luna" Cheyenne says following me up the stairs to the nursery. Once we are alone i smile at her and drop being so formal. "Please call me Harmony. I know it has been long since Jayden told you that your family but I couldnt wait to introduce you to your neice and nephew" I say and she smiles. "I was hoping to get to meet them soon. I think its finally starting to click that I have family" Cheyenne says and I chuckle. "Well this is Quintin. Dont let those eyes fool you. He is quick and loves to explore. Its not uncommon for him to escape and have the nurse maids in a worry" I say causing Cheyenne to chuckle as she picked him up. He looked at her and let out a scream causing Cheyennes eyes to go wide. "Its fine like i said he is a wild one" I say taking the now screaming Quintin from Cheyenne. Once I have him he says babbling and pointing down. "Silly boy" I say setting him down. Riley crawls over and pulls herself up on Cheyenne. "That is Riley. She is the total opposite of her bother. She is quite and never leaves the room on her own. Cheyenne picks up Riley who babbles at her a little before laying her head on Cheyennes shoulder. "She like you" I say as Cheyenne smiles.

Third person POV

Harmony and Cheyenne hang out in the nursery with the twins. Getting to know each other and talking about their past. Jayden is sitting in his office working on paper work. He has to assign a new gaurd and rotate the patrols. He makes a note to ask Cheyenne if she wants to stay on nights or be moved to something else.

Outside the pack territory is the Witch who had been watching Jayden for a while. She sat at her desk looking at four wolves standing infront of her. "Wolfe, James, Steven and Dean. My handsome wolves, the time is upon us. Come the full moon we will attack Alpha Jayden. Wolfe you will be my leader, Steven you will follow and be my strength" the Witch says standing up and petting Stevens head. " James you will be my back up and sadly Dean you will be my distraction." She says. "We will rule and destroy Jaydens pack" the Witch says with a cackle. The witch has put a spell on each of "her" wolves. They were under her spell which ment she controlled what they did. They couldnt shift into human form and due to this spell they could find their mates. The only way to break the spell was to kill the Witch but she made sure they couldnt do that. Non alpha wolves were fairly easy to control and the Witch knew this. "We attack tomorrow. Now be gone my minions" the Witch said as the four wolfs started their walk towards jaydens pack territory.

Cheyennes POV

After spending most of the day with Harmony and the pups. I didnt look forward to spending the night on patrol. Especially with Jarred of all people. Plus he seemed to be in a mood. The last time i worked with him I let Sky bite at him. He got into our bubble and was been in to friendly again. He had made some comment about tell the Alpha on me and i laughed. He didnt know I now knew the Alpha personally. As we walked I caught the scent of the black wolf from earlier in the week. I mentioned it to Jarred who just pushed it off again. 'Ill tell alpha Jayden tomorrow with the weekly report' Jarred said via mind link as he kept walking. I stopped and looking towards the scent. 'Alpha Jayden' I say trying to link the Alpha. 'Yes Cheyenne everything ok?' Alpha Jayden linked back. 'Kind of. It might be nothing but it could be something. I have seen a black wolf a couple times now and Jarred keeps I pushing it off. The wolf has been outside our border. I have seen it a few times, maybe three times, and something doesnt seem right' I link to Jayden as I watch the border infront of me. I start walking slowly so I dont get too far behind Jarred. ' Thank you for the info. I will send Caleb to you to check it out' Jayden links me back and I start to feel a little relieved. I start to trot to catch up to Jarred when I catch more scents. 'There are more and they are coming fast' Sky says to me and I pause. 'Alpha Jayden there was multiple wolves coming towards the pack border' I link him starting to feel a little scared. 'On my way' Jayden links back to me. I just hoped that nothing was going to happen. I could hear someone as they ran through the forest towards me.

Jaydens POV

I sat eatting dinner with Harmony and the twins. My eyes must have glossed a little because Harmony gave me a look. "Who was that" she asked as he out food in her mouth. "Cheyenne was giving me a report" I say smiling at Harmony. "Something about a strange wolf. I sent Caleb to her location" I say as I take another bite of food. Not five minutes later Cheyenne links me again 'Alpha Jayden there was multiple wolves coming towards the pack border'. My wolf Crimson responds faster then i can making me stand up. Harmony give me a look as I tell Cheyenne that I'm on my way. "Harmony I have to go. Get the pups into the safe room. Full alert the pack is under possible attack. I'm needed in the woods" I say and Harmony nods. She links a few people and nurse maids appear taking the pups. Caleb is at my side before I know it. As we swiftly move towards the door I say "Caleb promise me if anything happens you will take care of my pups and Harmony" I say and he looks at me "with my life Alpha". We both shift and race towards the northern Forest.
