Chapter 11: The hunt

Jaydens pov

It had been two or three months since Harmony went missing. I hadnt really slept and had my warriors training everyday. When they werent training they were out searching for her. Caleb, my beta, had to force me to lay down. But I couldnt sleep knowing Harmony was out there all alone. So I had gone to pace around my office. I kept praying to the moon goddess that she would bring my love back to me.

"Alpha Jayden, you got a letter" Caleb said as he burst into the office. I jump up and grab the letter and rip it open.

Dear Alpha Jayden,

Since we have your beautiful Luna we figure we could make an exchange. Your prisoner for your Luna. We want ten grand wired to my account then another ten when we make the exchange. Also we have sent some pictures for you.

Alec and Ember

Ps we are mates now.

My angry grew as I read it. They are mates, how long had that been a thing. I had never disrespected either of them. I always respected them as any good Alpha would. Now they were holding my Luna hostage and wanted the man who shot her. I look at the pictures and then drop the paper. These were ultrasound pictures. Why would they send me... Then it dawned on me they were Harmonys. Not only did they have my Luna but they also had our pup.

"Caleb I need to find Harmony now. She is pregnant" I say to my Beta who nods and runs out of the office.

I hope that the baby is mine. With how it looked I'm sure it is. If anything happens to her or our baby I will kill them. 'Let me kill them' Crimson chimes into my thoughts.

'Trust me you will' I say with a small growl.

'Alpha we might have a lead' Caleb links me and I run outside to shift to meet him.

Shifting quickly I race towards the north forest. "Alpha we have a hunter in the northwest but to the northeast I got Embers scent" Caleb said and I nod to him. I didnt bother to shift, I was on a mission. Caleb shifted and I felt him racing behind me. I slid to a stop causing him to almost crash into me. 'Stay with the pack. Give me a couple warriors. In case it's a trap I need you to watch the pack' I tell him and he nods and turns back. Soon four of his team are chasing after me.

I follow Embers scent towards an abandoned warehouse. Her scent and Alecs is all over it. I waited in the bushes until I saw Ember appear. It had been a few hours of waiting so my anger was growing fast. I then charged at her allowing Crimson to take over. He ran right at her and the look on her face was priceless. He went to grab ahold on her arm but she managed to dodge and shifted. 'Come get her' I link to the warriors as I knock her off her feet and run inside the building. As I raced inside there was no sign of Alec. My heart raced as I began searching the building. Suddenly I'm knocked off my feet. Scrambling to stand I see Alecs wolf was already waiting for me. He snarls and charges at me and I dodge him. Whiping around I try to sink my teeth into his side but grab his back leg. I felt the crunch of his bone as I bite down and he lets out a howl. He snaps at my head and nips my shoulder. I let go of his leg and spin around jumping on top of him and biting the back of his neck. He howls out as I rip a peice of flesh from his shoulders. I dont want to kill him yet because I dont know where Harmony is. One of the warriors come in and toss Embers head at our paws. Alec lets out and howl and shifts back. He is crying and holding the head. "Jayden you bastard" he yells as he continues to sob.

I shift back and tower over him. "Where is Harmony" I growl and he whimpers a little at my aura I'm admitting. "Not here" he said standing up. "Please just kill me" he said looking defeated.

"Not until I have my Luna" I say glaring at him. If Harmony was here I would have given him his swift death but since she isnt he is going to have to wait.

Alecs POV

As Embers head was tossed over to us I felt my world collapse. My mate was dead and I coupdnt do anything. My heart felt like it was going to be ripped to shreds. Shifting I grab her head and start to sob. "Where is Harmony" Jayden demands and I try to form words. "Not here" I say standing up. We had planned on him finding this place when we werent here. I didnt think he would find our scent so fast. We should have ran but we didnt. Ember thought she could take him but didnt couldnt on warriors being with him. Her last link to me was love you. "Please just kill me" I beg wanting this hurt and pain to stop. My world seemed to have stopped turning and I wanted to die. "Not until I have my luna" he said glaring at me. I just nod and shift. My wolf lowers his head and walks out of the warehouse. I take them to another abandoned building a few miles away. We walk inside and I shift again. "In there" I told him pointing on the computer to were Harmony was. "Second door on the left" I say sinking into the chair. I watched as Jayden shifts and opens the door. I watch on the monitor and see him walk into the room. Part of me wanted to hit the button that would send sleeping gas into the room but i knew I couldnt over power the four pack members with Jayden.

Harmonys POV

I had found out that I was pregnant not long after they took me. When I got shot it had only gone threw my shoulder and it healed nicely. The doctor who had been assigned to monitor me came in once a week to check everything. I had lost track of time but I knew it was weeks or even months. I had been expecting the doctor to come today. I didnt roll over on the bed as the door opened. I still didnt know who took me but I knew their voices and I couldnt place them. "Hey beautiful" a voice rang out and my heart skipped a beat. Cinnamon and chocolate filled the room. Tears swelled in my eyes as I rolled over to see Jayden standing their. I sat up and went to stand and he was pulling me into a hug. I leaned into his bear chest and started crying. "You found me" I whimpered as he stroked my back. "I was never going to stop looking until I found you" Jayden said kissing the top of my head. "The man in my dungeon told me that I had spys. To find out it was Ember and Alec." He says and I push away from him to look at his face. "My mom and your beta?" I say bewildered by the news. No wonder the voices sounded so familiar. They were suppose to be my pack members, my family. "My warriors killed Ember but I was going to kill Alec once I found you" Jayden said pulling me into another hug. I didnt know how to feel about everything. They betrayed my mate and me. "They never harmed me" I say softly and Jayden looks at me. "We can put Alec in the dungeon but he wanted to be killed" Jayden says as if he was reading my mind. I just nod as he carries me out of the room. I was thankful that no one locked him in here with me. I was ready to get out and move around. "Can I walk" I whisper to Jayden. I had set my head on his shoulder. He nods and sets me down to walk. I see Alec by the guards and I walk towards him. "Why" I say softly and he keeps his head down. "ALEC IM TALKING TO YOU" I scream causing him to look up. Normally I was quiet and didnt raise my voice but today was different. "Why" I ask again and he looks down again. "I'm sorry Luna. It wasnt anything to do with you. Ember wanted to get even with Jayden for taking her pack. I should have talk her out of it" He says as tears fall. I turn to Jayden and have him hold me. "I wont let them kill you. You dont deserve that." I say as Alec falls on his knees. "Please have them kill me. I dont want to live. I can't go on without my mate" he says moving towards me slightly. I back up as a gaurd growls at him. "Touch her I dare you" Jayden says with a growl.

Alec goes to reach for me again and I jump back some. "I should kill you myself" I say firmly. "But you are going to have to wait. " I say before walking away. Jayden follows me closely not wanting me out of his sight. I wrap my arm around him and he pulls me in. "Lets go home beautiful" he whispers and I nod. My own bed sounded great at the moment.

-a few months later-

I feel like I swallowed a watermelon. I was almost due, about four weeks out. Sitting up in bed I stretch out best I can. My feet were just a little swollen but the doctor wasnt too concerned yet. He said as long as it doesn't swell more I should be good. Standing up my stomach growls a little. "I know I'm hungry too" I say rubbing my belly. The little one kicks at my hand and I laugh. Jayden was already up so I wonder over to his office. Knocking on the door I hear my mates voice " hold on" he calls out. I chuckle as I wait. His beta Caleb opens the door. "Luna" he says bowing to me. I nod my head as I walk in. Jayden was sitting at his desk yawning. Papers were scattered all over as I walked up to the desk. He took in a deep breath before smiling. "What do I smell bad?" I say chuckling. " no I just love your scent it relaxes me" Jayden says before pulling me into his lap. "Careful" I snap playfully. He laughs and rubs my swollen belly. "I woulf never hurt our little one" he says smiling. "But" he says as his smile drops" we need to decide what is going to happen to Alec" He says looking at me. "Kill him after the pup is born. Either that or blindfold him take him hours away from out pack and banish him for life. Make him live away from the pack he was born and raised in" I say and Jayden nodds. He smiles as I try to stand up. "I'm rather hungry so either you feed me or I'm going to go on a hangry rampage" I say with a straight face before laughing. The look on Jaydens face made me start laughing. I smile as I waddle down towards the kitchen. After eating what seemed like three breakfasts I walk outside to get some fresh air.

Third person

In the trees just off to the side stood a women. She was just hidden by the trees and she watched the very pregnant Luna walking. Looking around she saw the Alpha walk out and smiled. She was going to destroy this family and shr had just the plan to do it.
