Chapter 17: Jaydens Wish

Harmonys POV

The first few nights were bad. One night Jayden seemed to have trouble breathing. The next he had something else going wrong and they almost kicked me out of his room. By the fourth morning the doctor seemed somewhat hopeful. He made the comment that he was healing fairly well and that his vitals seemes to be improving a little. It was also bought to ky attention that he was in a medically induced coma. I had talked to the doctor and he agreed that since he was improving that they would try to bring him out of it. "I really want to talk to him" I tell the doctor. "I know Luna. Just understand that even though we are going to try and bring him out of the medical coma that he might not wake up. He had a great deal of trama and he might go into a real coma. Do you understand?" The doctor asks me and I nod. I understood the risks with it and that he might not wake the first time. I also knew that he wouldnt want to be in a coma unless he had to be. The doctor also informed me that if he was in too much pain they would put him under again.

After I finished talking to the doctor the head nurse Lola came in with a vial. She informed me what she was doing and gave him some meds to wake him up. I watched Jayden for a while and after about an hour he started to stirr a little. "Jayden" I say softly touching his hand hoping he would wake up. He lets out a small grunt and I got to inform the nurse that he is kind of waking up. She come in and checks his vitals. "Everything seems to be good. I'll be back in about an hour. Come get me if he opens his eyes" she says before leaving the room. I nod and keep holding Jaydens hand. After about an hour the nurse and doctor come in. They check his responses and the doctor trys to talk to him " Alpha Jayden can you hear me?". Jayden doesnt seem to respond and I'm starting to worry maybe he wouldnt wake up.

Jaydens POV

Pain. Pain floods my mind as I'm slowly pulled away from my dreams. I feel like I'm waking up but I cant move. I can hear Harmony and I want to reach out to her but my brain wont control my arms. I see the light that hurts my eyes as a mans voice talks to me. The man asks if i can hear him but i cant form the words. My body feels weak and my side hurts. I try to reach out to Crimson but have no luck. 'Crimson talk to me. Are we going to be ok?' I ask but get no response. I can feel him very faintly in the back of my mind but he feels weak. Too weak for an alpha wolf. I try to open my eyes again hoping this is all just a nightmare. I try one more time and this time I feel my eyes more slightly causing the light to burn my eyes.

Cheyennes POV

It had been about five days since I told Caleb about Austin. Sky had been giving me the silent treatment but i finally had gotten her to talk to me for a moment. I was worried about Jayden and Harmony but I kept feeling the urge to go see Austin. I walked up to go see Caleb and ask about seeing my brother and maybe getting a gaurd duty for Austin. I knock and Caleb says i can come in. "Beta Caleb, I was wondering if I may go see Jayden. He is my brother and I would like to see him if I can. Also I would like to get on gaurd duty for the prisoner. I have heard you asking for volunteers" I say and Caleb nods. "Sadly, Luna has asked for no visitors for Alpha Jayden. I will go talk to her about you coming to visit. Dont get your hopes up it might not happen. As for being a gaurd I will put you in the midnight rotation. You will be with Cane and Andrew. I will take you down to go over all the intructions later tonight. Meet me here at 9pm" Caleb says before yawning. "Yes beta" I say before leaving. I felt like part of everything was my fault and this was going to be my way of helping.

Harmonys POV

Jayden finally started to stir more and finally opened his eyes a little. "Jayden" I say giving him a small kiss. "You really scared me" I say and I see him smile. "Sorry" I says weakly and I race to go let the nurse know he is finally awake. The nurse and doctor come in and ask him questions before leaving again. "How are you feeling" I ask softly and Jayden frowns. "Very sore and a good amount of pain" he says as a nurse comes back in to give him some pain meds. He gives my hand a small squeeze. "What happened" he asks and I look at him. At some point the doctor said he might not remeber too much of the night he was shot. "Well you were shot by that witch Cassandra. I'm not shocked your in pain because your still healing" I say and he nods. The doctor comes back in and talks to him for a few before leaving again. "I'm just happy your not in a coma" I say feeling tears fall again. Jayden reaches up and lets out a small grunt before wiping them. "How many were killed on our side? I remeber the fight but not how it ended" he says and I bite my lip. "Caleb had told me only two died and two were injured but are home recovering now" I say and Jayden nods. "Make arrangements for them. Give them the best and let their families know that I'm truly sorry it happened" Jayden says and I nod. "Of course" I say as we hear a knock. I stand up as Caleb walks into the room . "Luna I came to check on you and to inform you that Cheyenne has requested to come see Alpha Jayden." Caleb says and I nod. "I grant it if Jayden is up for it" I say looking at Jayden. "Hey Caleb" Jayden says weakly and Caleb actually has a few tears that fall. "Alpha " he says before coming over to give Jaydens hand a squeeze. They start talking about some of the arragment stuff for their fallen warriors and I decide to go grab some food.

Jaydens POV

Once Harmony leaves I stop talking about funeral stuff and look at him. "You keep that promise to always ptotect her and the pups. " I say and Caleb nods but frowns. "You are recoving why are you bring this up?" He asks and I look away. "Caleb I havent been able to reach Crimson. I feel off and have a feeling I might not make it. " I say and Caleb nods. "I have heard about wolves going into hiding because they are mad" he says and I sigh. "I dont think its like that. I felt him faintly and now he is gone. Without him I don't heal as fast if at all" I say and Caleb curses before looking at me. "You are going to make it. If you dont have a wolf then I will make up for that. You will lead and I will be your wolf form. I will protect your pack i will.." Caleb starts and I cut him off. "I know but if I die you protect my family like your own" i say and he nods. "I want to record a few things. Can you get me some paper" I ask and Caleb nods. He leaves and comes back with the paper. "Do you want to write or did you want me too?" He asks. "I would like to try" I ask raising my bed up some so I'm more in a sitting position. He walks out after giving me a hug. I stare at the paper for a moment before writing. I write a letter to Caleb, my sister Cheyenne and then I start Harmonys.

Harmony,

My beautiful loving, caring mate. I know our time together has been much shorter then either of us thought. You have been my world and will always be. You gave me a taste of life with two beautiful pups. You will do great and be a great mom to them. I love you so much. Dont morn for me but celebrate my life. Have a party and dont shed tears as I wont be in pain. Tell our pups all about us and how much I loved them. Never give up and keep on going strong. You are great and I leave our pack in your hands. Find your second chance mate but never forget how much i loved you.
