***Peter***
I went to the hospital today. It's been almost two weeks since I dropped her there, and I have avoided my place. I'm not sure if anyone saw me; I know that, based on how she looked, someone would call the cops. I have a few that I deal with who always look the other way as long as I supply them with what they need.
Walking in, I went to the counter.
"Piper Reed's room, please; I received a call saying she was here," I told the older lady. She typed away at her computer.
"And you are, sir?"
"I'm her fiancé."
She looked back at her screen. "Sir, I'm sorry, but it says that Ms. Reed was signed out a few days ago; she left with her sister."
I frowned. "She doesn't have a sister. She has no family."
She looked up at me.
"Well, sir, I don't know what to tell you, but she is no longer a patient here. But if you are who you say you are, then you should be able to reach her sister."
She gave me that I don't believe you look.
"Is there someone I can speak with? I'm telling you, she has no family. It's just her and me. I have been out of town for two weeks. I had no idea she was in here or that she was hurt; if someone signed her out, then that person is lying," I raised my voice, making it sound like I was panicked.
A security guard approached me.
"Sir, is there a problem?"
"Yes, someone signed my fiancée out, saying they were her sister. She has no family; this hospital let someone take her!" I yelled at him, hoping it would get me somewhere.
"Alright, calm down." He held his hand up, then looked at the lady. "Can you tell me which doctor was treating her? Maybe he can help us solve this problem."
She typed something in. "Dr. Arnold. It says he is currently on the third."
"Page him to come down, please." He looked at me. "Right this way, sir. We will talk over in the office and wait for the doctor to come down. I'm sure we can solve this and get you more information."
I followed him to a small office. I let my mind run through people she would call, but I was drawing a blank; I made sure she didn't have contact with anyone. I even managed to get rid of that so-called friend in college.
A few moments later, the door opened, and in walked an older guy, maybe in his forties, wearing a white lab coat.
"Ah, Dr. Arnold, thanks for coming down," the security guy said as he stood up.
"Sure, what seems to be the problem?"
"Well, this gentleman here came looking for his fiancée, but it says her sister signed her out, and according to him, she has no family."
"Oh." He looked at me. "What is her name?"
"Piper Reed."
He seemed taken aback for a minute. He cleared his throat.
"Piper Reed? Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I would know my fiancée's name."
He let out a sigh as he took the chair in front of him.
"I wonder if they were all lying. It didn't seem to add up," he mumbled, then looked up at me.
"Yes, she was here. I treated her, but one of our nurses was down as her emergency contact and signed her out; she said she was her sister and had to meet with her. One man was her husband, and the other was a distant cousin of Ms. Reed. I doubted what they said, but with who they were, I had no choice but to let them go."
I jerked my head back. "Who were the men?"
"I don't know their names. I may be able to find out, but Molly works here."
Molly. That's the name of that f*****g friend of hers from college. God dam it.
"Can I get Molly's address?"
The doctor looked over at the security guy.
"I'm sorry, but I cannot give that out. If you are stating you do not know her, then that isn't something I'm allowed to give you. I'm sorry, but that's how the hospital protects its workers."
Rage was all I felt right now. I was beyond pissed; I wanted to hit something. I stormed from the office. I heard someone calling out for me to wait.
Turning around, I saw it was the doctor.
"Look, I don't know their proper names, but I can tell you they are from the local MC club; I saw their vest."
I raised a brow. An MC? I know a few of the clubs I deal with.
"What was the club's name?"
"War Warriors. Look, they are not bad guys. I know they own a few businesses around town, but I also know not to cross them; they won't hesitate to take someone out. The two here that had their vest on it said Prez and VP on them."
My hands fisted at my side. This has to be Molly's doing. I know Piper doesn't have contact with anyone from an MC, let alone the Prez and VP of one.
"Names on the vest?" I know they never use their real names. They all have what is called a road name.
"Bear was on the one that said Prez, and the VP was Bash. I do believe that Molly is married to the one called Bash."
And there it is. f*****g Molly, pulling my girl with an MC.
"Were they with her when she signed Piper out?"
"Yes, they were. I tried to get her to stay, but that Prez guy went crazy and forced me to leave the room. There was nothing I could do to stop them. She was of sound mind in agreeing to go with them. My hands were tied."
"No, it's okay, I get it. Let me ask you, how badly was Piper hurt?"
He raised his brows, then let out a long sigh.
"She was bad. Broken arm and ribs. Her cheek was fractured and her eye socket ruptured. She was full of bruises, and I had to run a rape kit, as she had evidence of being raped."
"What came back on the kit?"
"There were three different DNA samples; I gave all the information to the cops. There were two that came, but those bikers chased them off."
Nodding my head, "Thanks. Do you know who the two cops were by chance?"
"I believe the one who said his name was Officer Warren."
Warren, that name sounds familiar. I'll have to ask one of my guys. I think he is a customer of ours.
"Thank you, Doctor. I appreciate your help."
"No problem. I can see you are a good guy. If I can help in any way, let me know."
"Actually," I pulled out one of my cards, handing it to him, "if you could let me know when Molly returns to work, that would be great."
"Sure, that's no trouble. Molly is a sweet girl."
I fought the urge to roll my eyes. It was clear he had a soft spot for her, and I'm sure seeing her with a husband was a kick in the gut.
Walking out of the hospital, I pulled out my phone.
"Boss," I heard him huff out.
"I have a job for you. Meet me at the warehouse in fifteen minutes."
"Yes, sir."
Ending the call, I opened my door and slid in. I need to know everything about this dam club before I make a move. And seeing as two of the main members are lurking around what's mine, I have to watch my step; MC is not something to screw with. Those crazy ass fuckers will skin someone alive, then go home and eat dinner as if nothing happened.
