Chapter 18 Alpha Erubas POV As the time drives near, I can't help but feel nervous. We haven't spoken to each other all day, and I didn't even go to her house to pick her up for work today. I was so nervous and I didn't want to be alone with her, and spending the whole day together in the office makes me feel so nervous. The long time finally arrives, and I become even more nervous. We finally close from work, and I drive us to the place we were supposed to have our dinner date. We didn't spend much time on the road before we got to the restaurant. "Do you like the food?" She asks as she watches me eat, and I slowly nod my head. She should be acting this way, and not me, but I can't even help it. The mate bond is making me feel like a fool around her, and I don't even know what to do. "So, I was saying something on the phone yesterday. So, why don't we get to know each other? You know you already know my friend, how about I know yours? Oh, I'm sorry, you told me you don't have one..." "I do," I cut her off before I can stop myself, and I bite my bottom lip. "Are you serious? Oh my goodness! Who is he? When should I meet him, huh? Why don't you invite him over to have dinner with us one of these days, huh?" She asks excitedly, and I bite my bottom lip. Although I don't know how things are done here when it comes to the issue of relationships, I feel like this is too early. I mean, we just started dating, and... Wait a minute! Isn't this a good thing? I mean, this will only make things faster, and we will be together soon as mates. "Sure... I will invite him over on our next day," I assure her, and the smile on her face makes me excited. "So, what name should I call you? Baby... Sweetheart, or my love?" She asks, and I almost choke on my spit. Isn't those names weird? "Uhm... Why don't you just call me Erubas or Xander?" I ask her, and she rolls her eyes. "Come on, that's done in ancient times. Nobody calls their lover by name now. Calling you that will make me feel distant from you. I mean, it'll give me the impression that you're just my boss," She pouts her lips as she holds my hand and caresses it, and I feel waves of sparks shoot through my body. My heart froze in my chest, and my breath suddenly hitch. I feel my wolf craving her touch, but f**k! We can't do this yet. "Hmm. Call me whatever you want then," I reply to her, and her face beams excitedly. "Then I will go for 'babe' then. I want you to call me 'my love'. Is that fine by you?" She asks me, and I stare at her for seconds before I nod my head, and she giggles as she throws her head back. "Babe... My baby... Babe... How does that sound, huh?" She asks as she winks at me and bites her bottom lip, and I choke on my food this time, coughing seriously. Can she stop doing that, please? "Stop winking at me and biting your lip. It feels weird," I say to her after I gulp down some water, but I quickly regret it, thinking it will get her angry. "Did I make your heart flutter?" She inquires as she holds my hands tight, and I find myself nodding my head foolishly. "I'm glad I did," She giggles as she throws her head back, and I quickly look away. I feel like I'm suffocating here because of her. After spending almost forever at the restaurant, we finally left afterward, and I drive her to her apartment. As expected, Zara is standing right in front of the house when we arrive, and she rushes over to us as soon as I park my car. "My in-law is here. Welcome," She smiles at me, ignoring her friend. "I'm here, Zara," Sophie glares hard at her. "I saw you," She replies to Sophie sarcastically before she turns to face me with a smile on her face. "Uhm... You must be very tired after work. Why don't you come inside, huh? I made some herbal tea that will help you relieve stress. You will love it," She cups her cheeks in her palm and smiles at me creepily, and I sigh silently. Knowing she's even crazier than my girlfriend, I know I can't even say no to her. "Don't say no, my in-law. Come inside and have some tea. If you want, I can pack some for you on your way home," She rambles on as she keeps trying her luck to convince me. "Are you kidding me, Zara? You have never made herbal tea for me, how come..." "We have a guest, Sophie. Can you go inside, while I see him in?" She cuts Sophie off, and she scoffs before she walks away. "This way, my in-law," She leads me toward the entrance door. I like the friendship between her and Sophie. At first, I thought they were sisters until she told me that they were just friends. She's the sweetest and craziest person I've ever seen after Sophie. "I hope you know it's late, right? He needs to go home," Sophie says for the second time once I walk inside and sit on the couch. "I will leave the room for you two to sleep if he can't make it home later," She says sarcastically, and I choke on my spit. Is she kidding me? "Uhm... I'm sorry, but I don't think I can pass the night here. Uhm... Why don't we make it fast, so I can leave?" I speak to her politely, and she nods her head before she excuses herself and walks away to get the tea. She walks back into the living room a few minutes later, and as I perceive the scent of the tea, I suddenly crave it. I know the tea, and it has been a while since I've tasted it. It was one of the best stress-relieving herbs back in the Pack. The physician uses it a lot. "Here," She hands it to me. "Thank you," I say to her, and she nods her head with a smile lingering on her face. "Uhm... Where did you learn this?" It's a bit difficult to start up a conversation with her, considering that I don't usually do this, but my curiosity won't let me pretend nothing happened. It's the first time I'm ever going to come across this in the human world, and it kinda feels weird. "Oh, my grandma taught me how to make it," She replies to me, and I squint my eyebrows in confusion. I don't know if it's only werewolves that know this tea, but I'm certain it's only common in our world. Could it be that she's not a human? "Oh," I only mutter, even though I want to ask further questions. I think that will make me look weird. "Thanks for the tea. I will get going now," I finally stand up to leave once I'm done drinking the tea, but I stop when I hear a loud rumble outside, and it suddenly starts raining. What the hell! Am I going to pass the night here now?
