April and Jamie arrived at Silas and May’s place at a few minutes before six. They all settled in the living room to wait. May brought in glasses of iced tea, and they settled back to talk until their company arrived.
“Are you all set for the wedding?” May asked April.
“Yes, I have a new dress. I would have liked to make a marriage bracelet, but I didn’t have time,” said April.
“You can make one after the wedding and have Derrick Bear bless it for you,” said May.
“I suppose,” said April. “It just doesn’t seem the same somehow. Did you finish yours?”
“Yes,” said May. “It was close. After getting knocked on the head and going to the hospital, I was afraid I wouldn’t finish it in time.”
