The first thing May did after making breakfast the next morning was to get Silas to take her by the law office so she could write her resignation and hand it to Carlson. Carlson stuttered a bit but he accepted her letter. She cleaned out her desk and stopped to talk to the head of secretaries.
“I have been training Nina for a while. She will do a good job if you keep an eye on her and let her build up her confidence,” said May.
“I’ll keep an eye on her,” promised Jo. “Good luck.”
